  1. Gaming may not be the best choice but they have taken advantage of a flawed system. Playing Burton and Honaker should not garner the same base points as Graham and Richlands. It ain’t RVs fault but there’s a problem here.
  2. No but Burton and Honaker are. The system is broken when what could happen this year is plausible. I’d say the same if it were any other school in this boat.
  3. Sure but what’s your point? A 7 win Burton team counts as much as a 7 win Graham team. That’s the problem. I tip my hat to RV for gaming the system but this is a problem. Union hypothetically could be 9-1, M7 champs and have beaten RV/RLands/Graham and be seeded below RV.
  4. RV has gamed the point system. It’s just jacked up system but credit RV for exposing its flaw. If the Wolfpack can continue to play 7-8 win single A schools every year they are going to be hard to ever point.
  5. I was at Union, they called 13 penalties on us and I didn’t complain once. Why? They knew where to mark the ball and control the game. Far cry from last week.
  6. Is there a reason why RV doesn’t get in the I formation and just run Adkins 30 times?
  7. Adkins is great. Polier out played him and plays tougher competition. Thus, Polier should be ahead of him in POY vote. No slight to Adkins, just facts.
  8. Not sure what grounds they would vote for him on. It’s highly possible RV finishes 3rd in M7.
  9. I don’t really think it’s an argument? Adkins has no business winning POY awards after tonight. Polier out played him, his team won the game and Unions schedule is much more challenging than RV.
  10. Here you go 1inStripes. Refs should be paid more than coaches.
  11. For the record: I’m highly in favor of raising officials pay if the quality improved. Simply put, not knowing where to place the ball is unacceptable, period. Stuff like this happens far too often.
  12. So officials are now stating publicly they should receive more pay for hour than coaches? Even better, others are defending them? What a wacky world. $18+ an hour for that bunch last week to not even know where to mark the ball on a kickoff out of bounds.... As Archie Bunker used to say Good Night Nurse
  13. Per hour officials make more than anyone else associated with a high school game. How about comparing your pay per hour with a coach, cheerleading sponsor, clock operator, any newspaper covering the game or the radio people. This poor official bit has gotten really old and our local association runs it in the ground.
  14. Does any work get compensated for travel time or time away from their family? How about the materials they need to work with? So, yes making $75-$80 for 2.5 hours of work in SWVA is good money.
  15. This stuff always cracks me up. Officials are highly compensated and most of the games they officiate aren’t close. God forbid anyone ask a trained official that’s making in excess of $25/hr to properly know the rules. Give me a break....
  16. Paintsville has some athletes. They like to throw it quick and get the ball to their athletes in space. The play of Union’s LBs will be key in this one for the defense. On offense it’s the same story every week. Can Paintsville handle the T and the repeated beating of the line and backs. I’ll be curious to see how Paintsville plays the T from a formation point of view.
  17. @Unchained when did you become a union fan? I thought you pulled for wise on that old board?
  18. Y’all worried about a horn and I’m still trying to figure out how Union snapped the ball, held it and kicked it 22 yards in 2 seconds at Graham. Someone needs to call the Guinness Book of Records. NFL teams can’t do that.
  19. Does this mean the horn will be presently loud at every home game the rest of the way?
  20. Looks like the M7 champ will have homefield throughout region d playoffs.
  21. The unsportsmanlike conduct penalty was huge. Made the two point try impossible, proved to be the difference.
  22. According to stats from the paper Adkins is averaging 26 carries a game. Ezekiel Elliott led the NFL last year at 20 carries a game.
  23. According to the paper he ran the ball 35 times last night. I think his workload is a legitimate concern. If he’s running it 35 times in a 3 score game how many times will he run it against Abingdon?
  24. Pretty abbreviated post game show on radio. Was wanting to hear penalty yardage.
  25. Not sure what either team got out of this game?
