Turner won't run the score up on TS, even though they could put up whatever they want. But don't let this loss overshadow how good the Horne kid is for TS.

Horne graduated and is at Campbellsville.
Still -- never let it overshadow how good he is. 😉😉
Do we need the CIA (well...I have thoughts on that by itself -- but that's another topic... 😏 ) -- but do we need them to get info on what the Jackets are like this year?? Haven't heard much other than they're not usually that much trouble in the modern day. Still, don't mean this year's squad can't be cagier than what we saw out of Richlands.
So: If we play as well as last night (minus a key miscue or two) -- do we handle Middlesboro equally as well??
Super awesome that we got an heir apparent. That's a major thing I was worried about if '25 was set up to be a memorable year, yet the beast don't have a head. T'was why I was so adamant for "recruiting" O'Quinn, cause I know he's a junior.
Meanwhile, is our QB-in-waiting Kaden -- or does he play a different position?? And is said signal caller frosh or soph??
Mt Airy will be leaning heavily on Ernest T Bass this season. STRENGTHS: While best known for his strong and accurate arm, his speed and elusiveness make him a true dual-threat. CONCERNS/WEAKNESSES: Issues with authority make him nearly un-coachable, Vandalism, Academics. OUTLOOK: Despite the legal concerns and apparent illiteracy, Bass remains a top target for UNC.
Mt. Airy dominating Grayson and Floyd County has no bad bearings on Grayson or Floyd. Mt. Airy will likely repeat as State Champions in North Carolina and would play with Virginia's elite Class 3 schools. They are that good. They are a machine.
Well -- my anger at this Cheatersboro revelation not yet subsided, Imma ask a key question, if anyone here knows the answer to it:
Is this mess the simple "fates of circumstance"...or did classic GC arrogance rear its ugly head again?? That is to say -- two years ago, when we plopped Radford down on the ol' sched....were we dealing with the same musical chairs problem where we just couldn't get options?? Or -- were we once again "just toughening the boys up" by scheduling way up the proverbial food chain?? In other (tl/dr) words: Did we have a much better choice two years ago, and just took them because we felt like a "challenge" -- leading directly to this hellscape of an outcome??
May not have weeks that line up but I thought I had heard Gate City was sitting at 9 recently looking for a 10th.
We got a Week 2 home opener that needs filling, I think -- so let's get it!!
One point of confirmation: According to TSSAA schedules, we'll be at the Stone Castle on September 29th, which is the former Lebanon weekend -- making Tennessee High the de facto replacement for Lebanon's return to the Southwest, and their need to jettison teams in order to make a full district schedule happen. I'm pretty confident Radford's the other. Thomas Walker was supposedly scheduled...but apparently backed out, with GC's blessing. So if Tazewell is willing to get on it, and needs a road date for September 1, don't see why we shouldn't grab it.
