  1. Richlands is a hard team to figure out. It’s hard to believe they only beat Marion by less than a touchdown. Did they have a lot of starters out?

    .

Bradshaw aligns a lot in X and Graham has been successful with it. It forces the team to either put two players covering him which give Graham a numbers advantage on the strong side. The deep shots keep the safety out of the box. I think his touchdowns against Jenkins(Union) and Thomas (V High) came off this formation and the opposing teams electing to go with single coverage on him.
  3. I went back and watched on NFHS. Against Graham’s starters Thomas had 17 Carrie’s for 50 yards (2.9 yards avg). Delaney had 2 catches for 28 yards. Graham moved Meadows from end to nose tackle with about 7 minutes to go in the second. Grahams line started getting a push up the middle then. From that point until the 2nd string came in, Thomas had 10 yards on 9 attempts.
  4. Delaney and Thomas had zero points on the varsity D. I think combined they put up less than 100 yards on Graham’s varsity.
  5. Well it’s a good thing you usually call non competitive football games as I am not sure you know what you are looking at.
  6. I would try watching the game. They seldom got the ball out of their backfield from the 2nd half on. I didn’t think their O looked that much better than Bluefield’s and their d was definitely worse.
  7. I wouldn’t call it ridiculous. Watching the game I think if they played 5 time Graham probably holds them to 7 points or less for a couple of them. Outside of the first TD, V High really couldn’t move the ball. The 2nd TD was a deep shot that was close to being picked off. V High has skill players but they got absolutely handled on both lines. Even against Thomas, Bradshaw looks to be the fast player in the area when pads are on.
  8. I don’t know what coal-cocked is but I am certain I wouldn’t want it lol.
  9. You can also get hurt getting out of the bed in morning doesn’t make it as dangerous as riding a motorcycle without a helmet. Statistically speaking the more snaps your starters take the more opportunity to get them injured. There is a trade off as your team doesn’t get competitive snaps but it does limit injury exposure.
  10. The only thing I can think of is it’s less competitive meaning your starters get pulled and a running clock.
  11. I think it’s more about line play than the spring film. Watching VA highs last two contests, they may get outmatched upfront.
  12. Watching Va high, they are going to have to score early or have improved play from their line. If they get down 14 and have to throw, I don’t think they will be able to give the QB enough time. I think the game plays out a lot like Graham vs Bluefield.
  13. It’s sad how quiet this post has been for a Graham vs Beaver game.
  14. Found a pic of Yoder commenting on this board.
  15. Agreed. I went back and watched it this morning. Don’t think he had great game on D but definitely wasn’t the reason Union got so many yards on the ground. Union ran a lot outside early on to scheme him out of the play. Graham’s doesn’t do him any favors either by not playing him constantly at nose. On O he legit had 10 pancake blocks. Union may have won two snaps with speed against him, and those would be debatable at best. Are Union and GC playing?
  16. As for Meadows, I don’t think any of the Gmen can say they had a good day on D, but didn’t think he had a bad game there. Couple of missed tackles but a forced fumble. On O I think you may have been watching a different game than everybody else. He had 10 pancakes and may have lost 2 O snaps the whole game. I think he has 40+ pancake blocks through 3 games. The kid is 320 lbs it’s impressive he can go both ways and still make plays in the second half.
  17. He definitely wasn’t going in untouched. It looks like the ball popped out when 78 hit him.
  18. I think it also happened in the Graham /Virginia High game a couple years ago.

    Week 4 updates

Maybe Tazewell should try the pillage strategy over the 5th year senior strategy they currently use.

    Week 4 updates

I could watch these two teams play every week. Lomax deserves to be talked about as one of the best players in Region D. I think Bradshaw may have answered The Who is faster question on the first play. Good game by all. Hopefully we get to see it again in the playoffs.
  21. In the area we live in, good luck with that ever happening.
  22. If you are looking for a sit down restaurant, Railyard is the best in Bluefield.
  23. I am with the Fisher & CO > Cuz’s camp.
