If Lebanon continues to gel, they may be a factor. Not saying they win it or anything, but very few ID teams will be able to stop the passing game when it's rolling. They played a good Gate City team tough with a few players out.

Lebanon is riding a 2 game losing streak with losses to VA High and Gate City. The Pioneers are currently 3-3, and 1-1 in the Hogoheegee. Northwood is riding a 3 game win streak entering Friday's game. They are currently sitting at 3-2 abd 1-1 in the Hogoheegee. The two teams have both played Chilhowie Lebanon beating Chilhowie 35 to 7 and Northwood beating them 15 to 13. Northwood may keep this game close for a quarter, but I look for the Pioneers to run away with this one. Lebanon Pioneers 42 Northwood Panthers 14

I don't think Abingdon is very good this season. I honestly see them finishing at worst 3-7, at best 5-5. Central 28 Abingdon 21

The Pioneers took a tough loss to VA High last week 42 to 7. The Blue Devils beat Union in a shocker. Seems to me like Gate City plays to the level of competition. They've beat, Abingdon, Marion, and Union. They've lost to Richlands and Radford. The Marion game although a win was just 35 to 28. Gate City's win against Abingdon wont be considered as big of an upset by the end of the season. I think we will see Abingdon lose 5 or 6 games when the season is over, they could possibly lose more. I definitely will say Gate City is the favorites in this one; however Lebanon has a good enough offense to make it interesting if Gate City takes this game lightly and plays to Lebanon's level. Blue Devils 42 Pioneers 28 Lebanon will get back on track after this week with Northwood and Castlewood games coming up.

Wow my cousins step son plays starting WR for them. I knew they were really good, but didn't realize they were that dominate. It would be interesting to see how they'd fair against some of the local teams equivalent to their size. A Union, Ridgeview, or Graham versus Indy game would be interesting. Looks like Indy has 600+enrollment, so those matchups would be possible.

They aren't the biggest 1D school. Lebanon has close to 600 students, that's why they are getting moved up to 2A. Lebanon has been the biggest 1D school since dropping to 1D last season. Come to think of it they probably are one of the biggest if not the biggest in 1A. As for Eastside, they are very young, and not quite as athletic as they have been in the past. Sometimes you go through bad cycles and have to rebuild especially in 1A, you don't have to kids to pull from to always reload.

Yes I know it's incorrect. I was initially going on the information that I was given prior to the vhsl releasing their information. Now as far as last night's game. I give Virginia High credit they played well. They look like a team who can win 8 games. I think they will lose to Graham, and finish 8-2. Hertig not playing last night hurt for sure, but wasnt the difference in the game. Its better that he gets healthy for more meaningful games. Lebanon plays Gate City next looking to rebound. I think Va High was the best team they will play. I see Lebanon finishing 6-4 or 7-3, if they keep injuries down and stay consistent.

I totally agree. I would take PH's last couple of games with a grain of salt. It's also important to realize, it's all about matchups. Some teams match up better with other teams and vice versa. Example PH out muscled Lebanon, but Lebanon may turn around and play Virginia High closer than PH did due to better match ups skill wise.

They are continuing in the Hogoheegee, but will be playing 2A in playoffs, similar to what Abingdon does in the Mountain district.

I've watched both Lebanon and Virginia High and I think it's going to be much closer than people expect. Lebanon played poorly against PH and they've been quietly improving since. The way Lebanon passes the ball id be shocked if Virginia High held Lebanon under 28. I think Virginia High is vulnerable to passing teams. Now Virginia High may very well beat Lebanon but I think it will be close.

This should be one heck of a game. Both teams have good skill players and athletes and QBs who have big arms. I'd maybe give Virginia High the slight edge in this one due to their overall speed and size, but then again I wouldn't be surprised if Lebanon won this one. Lebanon's passing game will give the Bearcats fits. I expect the Pioneers to keep it close. After watching the Central game, I think thr Pioneers can definitely play with the Bearcats. I think the keys for Lebanon are keeping big plays for Virginia High at a minimum and containing Jones in the running game. I will predict this one later What is your thoughts on this one ?

I think as the season goes you will see Chilhowie win some games, they definitely aren't as bad as their record would indicate. I think Lebanon is one of those teams thats going to keep getting better and win games that may surprise people. They are young in some key positions. Their next couple of games may be telling how good they are. They have Virginia High Thursday and Gate City I think the next week. I think a split between those two games would be big for them. I also wouldn't be shocked if they won both or even lost both. I do expect them to play both teams close.

Lebanon and Chilhowie were tied at 0 at halftime. Lebanon then exploded in the 2nd half and wins 35 to 7. Pioneers are now 3-1 for the 1st time since 2014. That team finished 6-5, with a loss to Richlands. Thursday the Pioneers face a 3-1 Virginia High team. Should be a good game. I think both teams have weapons thst can make big plays. I think Lebanon's passing game will give Virginia High problems. After watching Virginia High and Central I would give the Bearcats maybe a slight edge due to the overall athletes, but I also wouldn't be surprised if Lebanon pulled it out. Central had some nice passing plays on the Bearcats and if I were the Pioneers I'd give them a heavy dosage of Reece and Company in the passing game. Definitely will be a fun one.

Lebanon has matched last seasons win total already this season. Should be 3-1 after they beat Chilhowie next Friday.
