  1. Old school offenses do work in high school. But there’s a reason you don’t see many past that. Most high school teams don’t have the athletes or the discipline to effectively stop some of the older offenses. Look at Riverheads for example. A defense has to be really disciplined to stop that. One guy misses his gap and they are gone. That’s the whole idea. They are threatening every gap on a play plus they are pulling so many players they are adding gaps to that side. Hard for small high schools to stop that with most playing Freshman and Sophmores.
  2. The Tech game is in Norfolk next week. So I doubt it’s the VT thing. Probably the ref shortage.
  3. 2016 is the year you’re referring to. That was Ortons last year at qb. And I’m pretty sure that’s the year we got destroyed by Riverheads at home. With that being said I’ll have to say the 2019 was the best team. Statistically they point up more points and did it quicker than any other Dixon team.
  4. I think what a lot of people don’t realize is how much the weight room has set Galax apart. Very rarely do you see any of their guys getting blown off the ball. It’s a right of passage up here and I know others hit the weight room but they seem to do something just a little bit different. It’s also helped with injuries.
  5. Technically yes. However, Giles is trying to consolidate and has been. At least they are trying to stay up and compete.
  6. Tough game to read. Has Holston done so good or is D that down this year. Not watched them in person but on film they were dominated a lot by Grayson’s line. They did win some battles due to their speed but with only one common opponent it’s hard to tell. I know the boys aren’t taking them lightly.
