  1. I didn’t see him as a Jr & Sr but he was a big talented kid if I remember correctly a decent basketball player too seems like he was hurt a few times during that time frame too
  2. Your right the cook kid was really really good. I went down a fox hole of really good players in that last post
  3. Giles—— Leon King, Tyrone Meadows, Keith Johnson, tie between Rowdy Stump and Shawn Eaves the reason I put Rowdy in the mix is because I don’t think he ever was tackled for a loss. So many really solid HS football players Roger Nance, Tiger Williams, Greg Mance, Jeff Williams Mark Middleton, Ladale Janie, Marty Meredith could probably list a dozen more and that doesn’t include any one from the last 30 years.
  4. Completely agree!!!! Coach Grant is a very good defensive coordinator. Graham was simple better at doing what they wanted on the offensive aside of the ball. RV HAD ZERO RUN GAME and seemed like the short passing game was not part of the game plan. They didn’t throw an out to a TE who had played limited snaps on offense all year. But what ever! The play that real blows my mind is the punt were RV DIDNT COVER THE SLOT GUNNER. It baffles me not one of the 15 people staying on the sideline would call a time including Stanley
  5. Agreed. Well coached and played game.
  6. Back to the topic… Ridgeview ….. hopefully
  7. Lol not hardly!!! Idk could be idk who he is. But I was there from the beginning. Completely changed the football culture in less than two seasons. There have been up’s and downs over the past 43 years with that program but the foundation Rags laid down is still in tack. Still a very good and loyal fan base.
  8. Real talk ruffle feathers or not. Coach Ragsdale is one of the greats. Played for Rags and later played against a Colley coach team. I’ve said for years longevity does not equal greatness. Every sport included.
  9. I don’t foresee a deep play off run with this team. They have three really good high school football players with the he ball in their hands. Not every who has on ball skills is a running back. They have lined up all three of these kids in the backfield and tried to running plays. Seem as if they are calling play to please the kid, parent or whoever’s upset about not “getting theirs” by no mean ms am I faulting any kid on that team it simply the culture. To change that it start when they are learning the game 10,11 and 12 years old. If a kids blows up and tosses their helmet sit them on the bench period no questions ask but when you do that COACH HIM UP but just let him sit over and wait to calm down.
  10. Seems as if Bluefield has this one wrapped up. Ridgeview has been as unimpressive as an 8-0 team can be. IMO the coaching is lackluster. Two guys trying to call plays on offensive. No sideline discipline. No real in game or half time adjustments. Clock management doesn’t exist. When a kid makes a mistake does not seem to be coached up. I watched a kids have 3 false starts in the same series. Most good coaches would have pulled him and let him know this isn’t how we do things. Instead hats and headset were thrown and the refs were being berated FOR NO REASON AT ALL. The kid was moving all night long. I don’t know how this is gonna get any better this year. Disappointed Fan
