THANK YOU FOR YOUR COOPERATION IN THIS MATTER!!!
  6. Grogg didn't want to be there in the first place. He even said in a news interview that it would do his team no good going to the MSAC Grid-O-Rama since they wouldn't be able to "work on things" as you normally would in a scrimmage because the MSAC wanted it to be like "a real game situation". I doubt he's the coach at GE for very much longer...

  8. [ QUOTE ] I see that GMan hasnt voted. There isnt a vote for the 60-and over choice [/ QUOTE ] Careful now!!! Even with the impending birthday, I still fall in the 30-39 category...and yes, I did vote in the poll!
  9. [ QUOTE ] The earliest memory I have that I'm certain was a bluefield graham game we sat on graham's side about the 30 yardline towards the scoreboard, because my mom graduated from graham, and I recall a graham player went for a reception in the endzone and ran into the goal post which wasn't padded then and had to go off on a stretcher with a fractured collar bone. [/ QUOTE ] That was Mike Baria...he had a neck sprain and a concussion. [ QUOTE ] Way forward in 82 I'm a sophomore, bluefield has a "lot" of talent and high expectations and everyone expects to defeat graham with relative ease. Bluefield chants "hall, neal, cundiff", for graham's eddie hall, eddie neal and mark cundiff, from day 1 of practice. Edward Bufford spends more time looking in the mirror before the game then anything else. Sometime early in the game on a 4th and about 2 around the 40 graham goes for it and bluefield stacks the box, eddie hall goes through the line sidesteps a bluefield player and goes for the score. Graham defeats bluefield 10 - 0 and it's considered a big upset. But graham has an exceptional team and goes 10 - 0, but is defeated by martinsville if I recall, 10 - 0 in the playoffs. [/ QUOTE ] That was 1981. [ QUOTE ] '83 graham returns a lot of talent from that team and expectations are high. They talk a strong game and a big graham victory. Graham's ahead around the late 3rd quarter 7 - 0, and they intercept a bluefield pass and look to go the distance for the score but marty morris runs down the graham player and plants him hard on the sideline. Kimbo spencer is talking big trash after this play. They got it now he thinks. Bluefield stops them and puts jay sims in a qb in the 4th who drives bluefield for a score, scoring himself on a very athletic tightrope sideline run. Game goes to overtime. Graham fumbles on 2nd down, bluefield's kevin cruise does the fg for the 10 - 7 bluefield "upset" and bluefield players and some fans storm field. [/ QUOTE ] Graham didn't return that much talent that year...we lost Eddie Neal, "Mr. Everything", to graduation the previous year. Kimbo was not the one talking trash in the 3rd quarter, he blew his knee out in the first quarter and was lost for the season. [ QUOTE ] '84, bluefield is talented, but it's bluefield graham so it could be close, early on hugh smalls goes 70 some yards for the score and bluefield's never really challenged in an 18 - 0 victory. '85 1st play of the game for bluefield is a draw to hugh smalls that goes for a long gain and sets the tone of the game, graham puts up respectable fight but goes down. Bluefield goes on to earn the aaa title. [/ QUOTE ] '84 was the year Bluefield won the title with Smalls, Coppola, and Martin...that was my senior year. Bluefield jumped out to an early lead but Graham never quit. The G-Men drove the field and scored a late TD to pull within one. Graham went for the win but came up short on the two point conversion and lost 21-20. [ QUOTE ] '86 is close but graham has an rb who seems to be stopped go the distance late in the game, can't think of who he was but he was a hard runner the entire game. There was some controversy about a whistle on that play but not much. '87 isn't close, all bluefield. '88 was a bluefield victory but that entire game was odd and less than exciting for a bluefield graham game because the scoreboard was out from early in the game on, and no one knew how much time, ect. [/ QUOTE ] '87 was a blowout and '88 was Graham's worst team ever under Carlock [ QUOTE ] '89, all graham, 25 - 0, defense was key for graham. Graham went on to go 8 - 0 and "unscored" on, before traveling to salem and being defeated. In my opinion graham's game was deflated when salem scored, ending graham's much hyped 8 game unscored upon streak. Graham plays giles, radford in the playoffs, and someone else, and eventually south hampton at mitchell stadium to earn the aa title in va. They had a giant inflatable king kong behind the bleachers at mitchell stadium holding a sign that said g- men throughout the playoffs. '90, is a lackluster 7 - 0 bluefield victory, paul wallace scores on a long score early putting the most impressive open field move on the graham db I've ever witness in bluefield football. [/ QUOTE ] UMMM...Graham went undefeated during the regular season in 1990 and beat Bluefield 17-0 in the process. [ QUOTE ] '91, darned if I recall. But I'm almost certain bluefield was the victor. [/ QUOTE ] That was the ESPN SSA Game...Bluefield 6 Graham 4 [ QUOTE ] '92 bluefield is very talented and actually plays graham the 2nd game of the season, after playing dunbar dc the 1st and easily defeating them. It rains hard in the 4th quarter and the game goes to overtime in the rain and mud, 1 of the few rainy bluefield graham games in quite a while and bluefield earns the victory in ot. '93 a game mentioned on here a few months ago, it's close and bluefield's behind a few points on the last play but graham intercepts on the last play. and scores another score, or something like so. [/ QUOTE ] '93, Graham scored with less than 30 seconds left to take the lead then intercepted a pass on the final play and returned it for a TD to make the final 24-14, Graham. [ QUOTE ] '94 1st "bluefield graham" game I watched from the cliffs on the hill over the stadium with my dog blitzer. bluefield moves down to aa that season, defeats graham behind isabell by a few scores. [/ QUOTE ] Bluefield wins 7-0 in '94 [ QUOTE ] '95, 1st game I watched on the hill over the stadium with thor. Bluefield is all over graham 20 early in the 2nd quarter, isabell is injured and bluefield doesn't know how to play as a team without isabell. Graham battles back and defeats bluefield by 1 or 2 points. I and most every other bluefield fan seem certain had isabell not been injured the game would have been a big victory for bluefield. Bluefield is defeated in their 1st aa title game by mussleman 13 - 7. Graham defeats king george? to earn the va. aa title. [/ QUOTE ] The G-Men were down 20 in the second quarter but never quit. They scored three second half TDs to win 26-20. [ QUOTE ] '96, It is a big victory for bluefield who has a very talented team with isabell as a senior. Bluefield is defeated by east bank in a close game in the semi's. '97, charlie tynes scores early on a 70 some yard score, graham puts up a fight but bluefield earns the victory by a score 14 - 7. Bluefield goes 14 - 0 to earn aa title. [/ QUOTE ] In '97, Bluefield wins a close one 19-14. [ QUOTE ] '98, bluefield defeats graham by 3 or 4 scores maybe, but neither team does much through the season. [/ QUOTE ] Bluefield routed Graham 24-0...Graham goes on to win the Region IV title. [ QUOTE ] '99, amaker and bluefield defeat graham, advance to aa title game and are defeated by considerable margin by wyoming east. '00, graham has talented team but cannot defeat bluefield, close game, close but no, bluefield by a score or 2. [/ QUOTE ] 1999...Bluefield 14-8 2000...Bluefield 17-10 [ QUOTE ] '01, I even know better than to attend this game, I go with my dogs into the woods on east river mountain and listen to a few minutes on the radio, enough to know the 49 - 0 score for graham after 2 quarters. Graham is defeated by harrisonburg in the va. aa title. [/ QUOTE ] I was left all alone on the Bluefield side...I had the entire section to myself in the second half. Where did everybody go??? [ QUOTE ] '02, last bluefield graham game I watched with thor, all of them since '95 as well. graham returns bradshaw and a respectable team, bluefield puts up good fight but graham defeats bluefield 2nd season in a row. Bluefield advances to aa title game and is defeated by poca. Graham talks the 3 in a row talk. '03. thor and mafausa passed away in late july. I have to start going to the games inside the stadium. I go with my uncle who was a bluefield football historian, and we had a fun time. That was oddly the only game we ever watched with each other, but yet we talked bluefield football all the time yearround. He passed away in early oct. that year. Graham returns bradshaw and bluefield returns '02 team Bluefield 24 - 0 in 2nd quarter, before 3 turnovers are returned for scores by graham in the 3rd and 4th quarter, graham drives inside 5 and fg is wide on last play of the game. Bluefield defeats graham 24 - 21. Bluefield advances to title game and is defeated by poca in ot. [/ QUOTE ] Graham should have gone for the win on the last play of the game...give the ball to Bradshaw and let him see what he could do (he was pretty much unstoppable on the last few drives and Beavers' D was on its heels). NO WAY should they have gone for the tie... [ QUOTE ] '04, all bluefield. bluefield earns aa title. [/ QUOTE ] I was a very good sport about it. I sat on the Bluefield side but I didn't leave (like the Beaver fans did in '01). I sat there and took it like a man. [ QUOTE ] '05? [/ QUOTE ] We'll just have to wait and see...
  10. [ QUOTE ] thanks Lance [/ QUOTE ] Should read "Thanks G-Man"...
  11. R.I.P Coach Carlock - The G-Man
  12. [ QUOTE ] I guess that would be "carlock cardinal". [/ QUOTE ] I would agree with you buzzsaw...Coach Carlock was responsible for changing Graham's colors from Maroon and Gray to Cardinal Red and Gold.
  13. [ QUOTE ] Don't worry BigD, GMan will be joining you in the 40+ club very soon.... [/ QUOTE ] I still have a couple of years as well before I reach that milestone...
  14. Happy Birthday BigD4VT!!! I got one those things coming up here in about 2 weeks...
  15. [ QUOTE ] her southern accent is one of the worst I've ever heard. [/ QUOTE ] Hard to believe she's from Texas...

Against Turner Ashby we had to come up with 3 TD’s to win and against Harrisonburg, the state runner-ups, I threw for 3 TD’s and no interceptions. Question: Honors/Awards? Chase Prasnicki: 1st Team All-District, 1st Team All-Harrisonburg Daily News and I was one of two QB’s listed among the top 25 juniors in the state by the Roanoke Times. Question: How long have you been playing football? Chase Prasnicki: Since I was 8 or 9 years old. Question: Are you involved with any other sports? Chase Prasnicki: Basketball. I started a couple games. Question: What are your goals for your senior season? Chase Prasnicki: For the team, I want to win the state, obviously. I want to do what I have the potential to do. I have to get it done. Pass for 2,000+ yards and run for 1,000 with a 3-1 TD-Int. ratio. Question: Do you consider yourself to be a team leader? Chase Prasnicki: Oh yeah. Yes, sir. I’m more of a leader by example and I don’t really yell. I’ve gotten better about pulling a person aside after a drill in practice, for example, to talk. Question: What’s your strength? What do you do best? Chase Prasnicki: I execute late comebacks by staying composed. Question: What is it you need to work on most? Chase Prasnicki: Footspeed and quickness. Question: Where have you made your greatest improvement? Chase Prasnicki: My strength and size. At the end of my sophomore year I was 165 and into my junior year I was 225. Next year I’m taking advanced Calculus, Biology and Govt. My electives are Weight Training and Creative Writing. Question: What would you like to major in in college? Chase Prasnicki: Business or Engineering. Question: What else are you looking for in a school? Chase Prasnicki: Obviously, the academics. I don’t have a preference in terms of where in the country it is. I do want to play D-1 ball. Question: What schools are you hearing from? Chase Prasnicki: BC, UVA and Wake Forest are the big three. Question: Did you get to the recent “Junior Day” at Wake Forest? Chase Prasnicki: Yes, sir. I like it a lot – the coaches, the atmosphere and the fact that it’s a prestigious college. Question: What’s your impression of the two in-state schools? Chase Prasnicki: The UVA coaches have always been nice. I know Coach Rocco because he’s been up and back here. We have two former players who go to UVA. It’s a great school. VA Tech I haven’t heard a lot from. I think I’m not really the kind of QB they’re looking for. They probably prefer more of an option-type. Question: Have you attended any college football games? Chase Prasnicki: UVA-Miami. I loved the atmosphere – how the players ran through the smoke and the loud crowd that was pumped up. Question: Did you get a chance to watch any of the Bowl Games on TV? Question: I watched VA Tech-Auburn which was close. I thought both teams were evenly matched. I leaned toward Tech because I’m from Virginia. The UVA game I turned off when they were winning so I was surprised to see the result later. Question: Would you hope to make your decision early? Late? Chase Prasnicki: I’d love to commit early. Question: Will you be attending any summer camps or combines? Chase Prasnicki: I’m going to the Nike Combine at Penn St. April 30th. I’ll probably go to a couple summer camps – maybe even five of the one-day camps. I’m not 100% sure how many or where. Question: Where did your parents go to school? Chase Prasnicki: Dad went to Emory & Henry and works at VMI. Mom went to VA Tech and is a pharmacist. Question: Hobbies/Interests? Chase Prasnicki: Hanging out with friends, X-Box, pickup-basketball and football. Comments from Head Coach Billy Mills (Emory & Henry grad.): To give you an idea of what Chase meant to our team last year - we lost the only game we played without him. He was the glue and I've never had a kid who has worked so hard to get where he is. Chase probably could've started on the varsity as a freshman, but we had a senior who was a little more game savvy so Chase served as his backup. As a sophomore Chase had a very productive year. Rockbridge County has only had 5 winning seasons in its history and most of that winning has come during Chase's career. Chase's breakout year was his junior season last year. He was a huge part of our offense. He got better with reads. I think he only threw 5 interceptions and we threw it a lot - 216 times in a no-huddle, shotgun, fast break offense. In terms of his passing, Chase threw the "smash" route very well. Ball placement is very good and he throws away from the defender. He also throws the post corner well and his understanding of the screen game is outstanding. We gained most of our yards on screens. He has tremendous field sense. Chase's game savvy really emerged. In one game we were down 18-0 and Chase brought us back to win 22-18. Against Waynesboro with just two minutes left we ran QB traps all the way down the field. He rushed for 60 yards on that last drive, including the final 9 for a TD. Ft. Defiance was a hump game for us. With a minute and a half left in the game Chase led us on a 95-yard drive. With 30 seconds left and no timeouts remaining Chase rolled out and had no one open, so he ran the final 18 yards over three defenders to score. He just wouldn't be denied. In that game Chase yelled at our defense, "Give us one more shot" and the kids really rallied. Rockbridge County had been a perennial loser, but that game helped get us over the hump. The kids since that time went into every game believing they could win and Chase is a big reason. Chase is a throwback. He's the biggest reason I've been able to move up in competition at AAA Dinwiddie. Chase cleans 275 and squats close to 500. He really is a beast. I'm sure he can throw the ball at least 60 yards. I'm anxious to see how he does at the Penn St. Nike Combine. I'm sure a lot of people will jump on him.
  17. Scrimmage Schedules (please let me know of any additions/changes) 2005 District Predictions The Sports Page
  18. [ QUOTE ] Tigh Compton kicked a 4.5 yarder the other day in practice... [/ QUOTE ] Lance, you are just too hard on that boy!!!
  19. Less than what it takes to be Class AA. They are not like a lot of the schools in this end of the state that "play up" with Class A numbers. They saw their chance to drop down and took it...
  20. [ QUOTE ] POOR GRETNA WHAT THEY GOING TO DO NOW? DROP TO SINGLE A LOL! [/ QUOTE ] Well...yeh, Gretna did drop to Class A this year...
  21. [ QUOTE ] No, no, no, you've got it all wrong. The air conditioner's broke. Hey if it's any consolation, maybe the Hokies can give you an excuse to go back to New Orleans this January! [/ QUOTE ] New Orleans??? We're going to Pasadena this year!!!
  22. [ QUOTE ] GMan, whats wrong with you bud. You seem alot madder than normal [/ QUOTE ] I guess its the fact that I was supposed to be at the beach this week, instead I'm stuck here working...
  23. [ QUOTE ] Oh hell, you're just mad at what happened back in June. And just for your information, I would gladly trade the hours I work now for a 21 hour two day stretch. [/ QUOTE ] Yeh, I'm mad at myself for allowing your sandbagging arse to take advantage of me like you did...10 handicap...whatever...fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me. Why on God's green earth would you want to trade MY long-hour working, low-paying, no summer vacation receiving, six-day-a-week job for that piece of cake job you have??? Here's your normal day...8:00...clock in and check out the internet, 10:45...break time, 12:00...lunch, 1:00...afternoon nap, 2:00...surf the net some more, 3:45...break time, part two, 4:30...call it a day. And all this in the confines of a nice air conditioned office. Sometimes your afternoon routine gets "screwed up" by meetings (on the golf course) with the boss. At least you get to play on a regular basis...
  24. [ QUOTE ] Your right GMan...The whole time I read the post I was reading slice but thinking hook for some reason...On most golf courses a slight slice is usually a good thing. and if your are hooking to the right (assuming he is a righty)(also, this was my problem for a long time) most of the time it is a timing issue as well as not getting your hands across quick enough, therefore the rolling of the wrists is necessary if your gonna get your club facing square with the ball on impact. Unless you akwardly dont move your wrists at all in your back swing which I have never saw anybody do. [/ QUOTE ] Ummm...OK...
  25. [ QUOTE ] Roll your wrists. More than likely when you coming down with your swing your opening your club face. Roll the club face around a little bit and then get your grip until you start rolling your wrists correctly. That way when you dont roll them, the head of the club will still be straight. You might also be coming inside out on your downswing. Thats what I used to do. When I would reach the top of my swing instead of following the same path back down I would bring it down and and strike the ball with the club going from the inside out. Just a few thoughts..haha... [/ QUOTE ] Yeh, go ahead and roll those wrists...if your timing isn't exact, one of two things will happen - big slice or snap hook. Its funny...when you are a beginner, you are taught to use your hands more in the swing...once you become a better player, you are taught to take your hands out of the swing. Some people never reach that next level... If he's slicing the ball, his swing CAN'T be going from inside to out...just the opposite, its coming from the outside to in, cutting across the ball, putting clockwise spin (for a righty) on the ball, starting out left of target and ending up way right of target.
