  1. [ QUOTE ] Obama for president !! http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080226/ap_on_el_pr/obama_photo;_ylt=Am6_FgCqj0AxBYJBuzJHEuwDW7oF [/ QUOTE ] Desperate move by Hillary. She's screwed and she knows it because she's resorting to fear mongering.
  2. ....would actually go see or have already saw this movie? Be honest, people. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1001562/
  3. People can like who they like, do they really need a reason to do so? If they're bandwagoners, oh well and if they're true fans, they get my respect.
  4. I'm going for the golden Dragunov now. Only 300 headshots to go.
  5. [ QUOTE ] xbox 360 here too...extremely addictive..I'm about to start my 5th prestige mode..Can't wait for the new maps [/ QUOTE ] You added me not too long ago. Impressive stats.
  6. We've found Terrell Owens' successor, IMO.
  7. [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] boys your scaring me thought this was something serious, nobody shot anyone and no smoking the rope...this one will be ok. [/ QUOTE ] Like most are when it involves a "star" in Morgantown... [/ QUOTE ] I'm pretty sure that's in most places, not just Morgantown.
  8. I have it for X-Box 360. Great game, very addictive.
  9. [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [/ QUOTE ] I’m not saying that I will voting for the guy or that I agree with his views, but I think even considering not voting for a guy based on what his name sounds like is pretty ignorant and may even be considered bigoted. [/ QUOTE ] You should note the other reasons I listed for not voting for him. Trust me, his name has nothing to do with why I won't vote for him. And saying that could be considered bigoted? To say the least that's a bit of a stretch [/ QUOTE ] That'd be about the same as me considering you an ignorant redneck from Monroe County but that isn't so outlandish to say considering the statements you've made about voting for someone based on their last name. [/ QUOTE ] The big reasons I won't vote for Obama are -Top 3 liberal voting record -0 experience in an executive government positions -Complete lack of understanding on national defense, and very closly related, immigration policy A big reason why I like McCain is he doesn't try to blow as much sunshine up people's back side as many politicians. He won my vote when he went to Michigan and told them they needed to re-train the workforce because some jobs weren't coming back. It wasn't popular, but admitting that there are big problems are the first step in solving them. McCain made many in his own party angry by not bowing to their avery whim, Obama and Clinton are the polar opposite. Obama likes to talk about "change", but there are a couple of problems A-talk is cheap, and B-his record tells a different story. I won't be voting against Obama or Clinton because of their names, it's because I want to have a country 20-30 years from now, and with 1 or both of them running the show, I'm not convinced I will. Oh, and if anyone has any problem with me comenting on the name, BARAK HUSSEIN OBAMA, please make a fist, place it at face level, insert your thumb into your mouth, and be happy. That's as close to me apologizing for that as you are going to here. [/ QUOTE ] You make claims about Obama's talk of change and only that, as well as mention his lack of experience. In a way you're contradicting yourself because you're judging the man when he hasn't even had a chance to prove himself, and you've indirectly said that within your own post.
  10. [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Why is the assistant principal in charge of contacting schools about athletic scholarships? Shouldn't it be the guidance councelor's or the coach's job? [/ QUOTE ] Yeah, I would think the coach or A.D. should be on top of those things. [/ QUOTE ] yes they should be... but Dr black is in charge of it...gotta stick to the facts of the issue...she did not send in the papers and fails to admit this publicly...if she would have admitted she did this and fixed it promptly there would be a problem now...she did not and she thinks its ok that this has happened once again...she does not need the job of assistant pricipal with her doctorate in nutrition...maybe we could buy her some fruit and vegetables..she might know what to do with those [/ QUOTE ] Lmao
  11. [ QUOTE ] As interesting as this discussion is, it's pretty much academic. John McCain wins in November, mainly because he has the fewest significant negatives. [/ QUOTE ] McCain is far from a shoe in for president, he hasn't even convinced a lot of people within his own party that he's right for the job. He should hope that Clinton wins the Democratic nod because in several polls he is trailing Obama by 5-7% on average, while he holds a similar margin over Clinton in comparative polls. Additionally, Obama has been getting a good number of independents and Republicans in his faction.

  13. What in the hell is wrong with people? Sounds like another nobody who was pissed off because they sucked at life and tried to justify their existence with a violent attempt at infamy.
  14. [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] LOL.........can't vote republican....I would like our country to prosper sometime soon. It would be nice to have our troops home....at least more home than away. It would also be nice to have a president that can speak. [/ QUOTE ] It would also be nice if our last president hadn't [censored]-footed around with Saddam and Bin Laden for 8 years, and emboldened terrorists to strike us hard on our own soil. I know alot can happen in the next 11 months, but there's alot to be said for the fact that we haven't had a major attack on the U.S. since 9/11/01, and there aren't many of us over the age of 25 who thought we'd be able to see that at this point. Bottom line is the Clinton years gave everyone a false sense of security, and we're paying the price now, Al Gore would've had just as much of a mess to clean up as Bush, and there've been alot of times I was glad he wasn't the one in charge. If there was one reason (and there are several) why I wouldn't vote for Obama or Clinton, it's because they will send to troops home, and the enemies of America won't be far behind. Being a P.O.W. himself and knowing how bad war can be, and how to recognize a bad situation, McCain will due what it takes to WIN THE WAR. If we pull out no, all the men and women who have died will have done it for nothing, and, make no mistake about it, we will be fighting this war on our streets. Plus that, I'm just not comfortable with voting for a guy who's name rhyms with Osama. And Hillary, well, if you want to live in a communist country that bad, hear's your chance. [/ QUOTE ] You're naive to assume that just because McCain is a veteran, he has all of the answers to our terrorism related problems. There are other issues to solve in our country besides war such as our economy (it helps to have a thriving economy if you're going to win any war) and healthcare. On the subject of the war on terrorism, McCain's experience would definitely be invaluble but first of all you have to realize that this war is one that we have never fought the likes of in our 200+ year existence as a country. We are now fighting a religious ideaology and not a political philsophy such as Communism, Marxism, etc. Regardless of who is president, Republican or Democrat, this is a war that will likely take decades to win because it isn't as simple as invading a country anymore.
  15. If we're not ready now, when will we ever be? This country preaches about equality and justice for all, but we can't even see past the color of someone's skin or their gender for the greater good of the people. It's very sad.
  16. [ QUOTE ] LOL.........can't vote republican....I would like our country to prosper sometime soon. It would be nice to have our troops home....at least more home than away. It would also be nice to have a president that can speak. 17. Clemens has gone to great lengths to prove his innocence, so either he is truly innocent or he's the dumbest person on Earth to put on this honesty show and lie to the federal government. If the latter proves to be true, they will crucify him.
  18. [ QUOTE ] never seen it, im not much of a Leo fan personally... should I see it though? [/ QUOTE ] Yes, Daniel Day-Lewis is amazing in Gangs of New York as the character I mentioned before. DiCaprio is also good in The Aviator, where he portrays billionaire Howard Hughes.
  19. Beavertail, you sound like Bill "The Butcher" Cutting from Gangs of New York.
  20. [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Oklahoma is overrated (as usual) but everyone will realize this when they lose 3 games, go to a BCS, and get embarrassed again. VT is a little over ranked IMO considering what they're losing on defense. WVU is underrated, IMO. They should at least be Top 15 considering they return a good nucleus of players and a competent coaching staff. [/ QUOTE ] VT overrated, WVU underrated. I wouldn't have guessed. [/ QUOTE ] I'm a Tech fan, but we have a lot of questions going into next season. I think more than likely it will be a learning year for us. I could be wrong though.
  21. http://www.usatoday.com/news/nation/2008-02-11-population-study_N.htm U.S. Hispanic population to triple by 2050 By Haya El Nasser, USA TODAY The U.S. population will soar to 438 million by 2050 and the Hispanic population will triple, according to projections released Monday by the Pew Research Center. The latest projections by the non-partisan research group are higher than government estimates to date and paint a portrait of an America dramatically different from today's. The projected growth in the U.S. population — 303 million today — will be driven primarily by immigration among all groups except the elderly. "We're assuming that the rate of immigration will stay roughly constant," says Jeffrey Passel, co-author of the report. Even if immigration is limited, Hispanics' share of the population will increase because they have higher birth rates than the overall population. That's largely because Hispanic immigrants are younger than the nation's aging baby boom population. By 2030, all 79 million boomers will be at least 65 and the elderly will grow faster than any other age group. The projections show that by 2050: •Nearly one in five Americans will have been born outside the USA vs. one in eight in 2005. Sometime between 2020 and 2025, the percentage of foreign-born will surpass the historic peak reached a century ago during the last big immigration wave. New immigrants and their children and grandchildren born in the USA will account for 82% of the population increase from 2005 to 2050. •Whites who are not Hispanic, now two-thirds of the population, will become a minority when their share drops to 47%. They made up 85% of the population in 1960. •Hispanics, already the largest minority group, will more than double their share of the population to 29%. •Blacks will remain 13% of the population. Asians will go to 9% from 5%. •The gap between the number of working-age people and the children and seniors who depend on them will widen as boomers age. There will be 72 young and elderly for every 100 people of working age by 2050 compared with 59 in 2005. The gap would widen more if immigration slows because immigrants tend to be of working-age, the report said. The projections are based on detailed assumptions about births, deaths and immigration levels based on recent trends. Those trends can change. For example, a new immigration policy could substantially limit the growth. "Immigration has long-term consequences on the make-up of the country and the size of the population and we need to take those results in account when we make immigration policy," says Mark Krikorian, executive director of the Center for Immigration Studies, a group that promotes limits on immigration. "Growing our population by 100 million more than we would otherwise is a choice. Immigration is a choice. … It's all up to us." The ethnic and racial profile of the nation could change because of inter-marriage. It's not clear how the children and grandchildren of multiracial and multi-ethnic unions will identify themselves in the future. "We've assumed that the definitions and categories that are being used today will continue to be used in the next 50 years," Passel says. "Fifty years ago, we didn't have the definition for the Hispanic population." Adds Krikorian: "Will that category of who's white be redefined? What is a non-Hispanic white?"

  23. [ QUOTE ] Why can't Bluefield football players ever get offers like that? I mean nothing against Muncy, But why is it that all the schools around Bluefield are sending players to D1 schools and Bluefield isint? [/ QUOTE ] Look no further than Coach Simon. Things may have changed by now, but when I was in school 6-7 years ago he did very little to help the kids get their names out to D1, or even D2, schools.
  24. [ QUOTE ] But they were Weapons it may not have been the ones we were looking for but they did have them. [/ QUOTE ] Seriously, if you can't back your viewpoint up and admit when you have no ground to stand on even when I've used your own source to disprove you, then you need to sit down and let the adults discuss these matters.
