i think it is the responsibility of the school system to monitor for illegal drug use either in school or out of school because if they use it out of school it can affect in school also, many drugs can cause mental problems like paranoia which can cause trouble in school if a kid thinks that others are trying to get at him in school he or she could hurt others. and as a parent i watch my kids as close as possible but cannot watch them at school so it is up to the school to help in this problem of illegal drugs in our society including steriods which can cause liver and kidney failure in people. we do not want our kids to be affected like this. i applaud any school system that is active in trying to stem the use of illegal drugs by our kids and the people that want them to continue to use them so that they can make money off the kids. so anyone that is against a policy like this must be for drug use by kids.

Graham has about probably a total of at least 30+ in there but we went straight from Basketball, Wrestling straight to Tennis, Baseball, Track(but track people lift for practice) and some I think even Soccor. But still a great turn out! Big lifters this year too. Oh and one word Supercleans! that is a lift right there find out what it is if you don't know and do it!

yes it is over for the basketball team this year hate to see them go out this way but that is the breaks.

to a very good tunstal team tonight at tazewell. the sad part was the actions of a couple fans from tunstal after the game in the parking lot making threating comments to graham fans as they left and making disparaging comments about the graham basketball team saying that they could not win the game because they are white and white boys cannot win. all i have to say about that is look at grahams record this year speaks volumes for the team not just one kid or another. they played as a team won as a team and lost as a team. that is what highschool sports are about not what the 2 tunstal fans were trying to make it. they only detract from a great win for tunstal tonight. hopefully other tunstal fans will find out about that and let those 2 know how to act a a highschool game. all that being said i am not saying that all the fans were like that by no means were they. the majority of the tunstal fans were excellent tonight. only 2 take away from the game. graham had a excellent year in sports so far. hope they can keep it up for the rest of this year in all sports at ghs

yes i agree i hope that all fans from graham that can attend the game will attend and fill the tms gym with loud ghs fans and root the gmen to hopefully a victory

i feel that small town or larger town or city you will always have kids in sports that will not play because they have something that they do not like about the coaching at the school it is that way at graham also there have been many kids that have the size to play football but do not play for one reason or another. it is up to the coaching staffs to motivate the kids that do play so that they get the best out of what they have to work with. and it seems like carlock and jones seem to be able to do that. jones is doing much better over the last several years and carlock well what can you say about that coach. he always seems to get the best out of the kids. year in and year out even in years when he does not have many players out for football. but this is just my opinion and seeing as how i am a graham graduate and fan you all can take my comments for what they are worth.

anyone have the scores from tonights games at graham middle school

shoot as a parent of a current graham football player i love to see the team that wins a state title enjoy it as long as they can. i still set down now and then with my son and we watch the graham southamptom title game and enjoy it still today and i tell my son watch and see what it takes to win a title and learn from the past teams and your past years at graham high. so let gretna enjoy a well deserved state title they worked hard for it and so did all the fans and parents of players cheerleaders band members booster clubs and all.

i just hope that everyone continues to want to overlook grahams chances next season without bradshaw, just like my son said using my name here they do have a good core of kids with playing time that are working hard in the weight room to get better and they played very good when called upon by the coach this past year to step in and play when a started went down with a injury so they have some big time experience in the playoffs against the best teams and they know what it takes to get back there so please everyone overlook the gmen this year and hopefully the beavers will overlook us also lol.

Next year I think Graham still has a chance at the SWD title agian in football. their only losing a couple things, true alot of people say Graham for the past 3-4 years has been the Ahmad Bradshaw show but the G-Men have alot of people returning from last year just loosing two full time starters on the line but they are already replaced wit two people that was starters off and on through the season in the back field you have Napper, Henderson, Henry and Mathews at QB so pretty much there isnt going to be much change so dont count them out this coming year!

with a big but close win over a very good carroll county team by a 76-67 margin the gmen claim the regular season title and i think get to host the tournament this year. i might be wrong and if i am i am sorry ahead of time so no one will blast me for making a mistake lol. congrats. to the gmen and to carroll county also

i know you were i just wanted to razz you a bit. i know that grundy always plays graham much better here than at grundy and always will. i think i remember a game that had to be delayed up here one year because of a bad thunder storm and it was a very good game even then.i enjoy the graham grundy games almost as much as graham beaver game so good luck to grundy except when they play the gmen here next year

i agree with you bluefield we do not need this kind of talk here in the message board, it almost sounds like a threat to me,and i do not see why anyone would get that worked up over highschool b ball

unfortunately i was not able to go to the game but in my opinion until i heard it from the coach himself that he was wanting to run out the clock in the game i would not totally blame the coaching for the loss. a lot has to fall on the players who as you said passed up open shots in the game. unless the coach specifically told them not to shoot when open. which i feel like not to many coaches would do unless you were up by a hugh margin. i think most would tell the kids if you have the shot take it if not run the offence until we have a open shot. mind you i am no coach or anything close just a observer who has watched many games over the years even when they did not have the shot clock. way back then. but this is just my opinion from when i met mister gillard last year and talked with him in length about highschool sports.

reguardless of their coach who i think is a very fine man and a good coach the beavers still have one of the toughest teams that the gmen have played this year and i hope they do very well in the playoffs this year

hey lance a thought then maybe grundy should play all their games away might help them if they play better away than at home. and just for everyone i am not a student at graham though my son uses my name here now and then he is still young like all highschool kids lol.i am looking forward to the graham grundy game i feel that it will be a classic game between the two schools

Depending on who you were refering to them playing since at that time you were talking about Graham and Grundy I will have to correct you, if you recall this past season... Graham played up there... so that means that Grundy is coming down to bluefield to have a taste of the G-Men home field. But if you weren't reffering to Graham Grundy sorry for the comment

Ok this isn't my dad this is the student. Personally yea I think Jose would be a GREAT D-1 player. But personally I have little respect for Kelly Mariotti... He seems to arrogant(sp) and I just all around don't like him. Also I have hit him before on the field... He isn't that strong, because if his strength could help him in D-1 this might be to far but I would say almost anyone could be D-1 worthy. As for Pannell out of all the Beavers coming from a G-Man, he has my fullest respect, and I hope he does and I think he would be worth being D-1.

as a fan from graham all i have to say about this is that if he is as good as he seems to be or at least thinks he is then as a player he needs to let his play on the field do his talking because those that tend to boast about themselves tend to have a big fall the next season because they seem to think that they are that good but in the end there is always someone better than you that you come up against so all his comments about kicking someones butt to put it nicely is talk on here so if i was him i would save the trash talking for the season comeing up. all you have to do is ask grundy about what happens. this past year some people on the old board were talking trash about graham and the bristol paper said that grahams bradshaw would have to score 6 touchdowns for graham to have a chance at beating grundy well all the talking in the paper and on the board did not help grundy win. graham beat them soundly. talking trash gives your oppisition something to work for to show you up.

like i said in my post i am not putting down any player at all but i do take offence to someone who has as he said not posted on the board before coming here and making a comment that this is a stupid site. i do not think that is the way to be. this is a good site and the people that work hard on it to keep it here do not deserve comments like that.

not putting down any program just the comment he made about this being a stupid board. that is not being enthusiastic that is being critical of a board that people worked hard to make a good place for people to come and have good conversation about football. so there was no need to make the comment about this being a stupid board at all. i just hope that he puts as much work into football as the people did on setting up this board.

until he is officially charged with a crime everyone is jumping the gun. why do people automatically figure if it reported in a paper that it is fact and the young man must have done what they say because he is a athelete. to many people today try to get someone in trouble if they think they can make a dollar from him or her. so until he is found guilty in a court of law not on a message board or in the news he is innocent unitl proven guilty by a jury of his peers. that is the system. if we give up on it then this country is in for a downfall. i do not believe though if he is found guilty that he should get off just because of who he is but until that time he is innocent.
