When we played them this year, we all agreed Appy would be playing for the district championship within 2 years, if not next year.

Honaker's already beaten Haysi so it's Honakers to lose at this point.

Just curious how the injured player's doing. He wasn't putting any pressure on his leg and seemed to be in alot of pain. Also on a side not, what happened to the other bulldog in the end zone? I noticed only one was there and the last time I was up that way for work both were still intact? Someone steal it?....lol

That was one of the best games I've been to in a long time. I think my throat's still a little sore from yelling....lol

I'm sure we'll do what we can with what we have. So far they haven't let me down yet.

I meant that as no offence to Lee High, but after seeing both teams play I honestly can't see Lee staying on the field with them for a quarter. Richlands defense is just to solid for Lee to move the ball at all.

That's the same thing I posted on the LPD board. Some have said PV's new slogan should be "Who's next". Yea, that sure sounds less "trashy" than "what if".

First time we've been there in quite a while. Any thoughts/predictions on this one?

We've got a long way to go too at the moment. Defensively we're pretty stout. We're sputtering on offense, but hopefully it'll come around by then. As long as the guys take it one game at a time, we'll be just fine. I said after the first game that they showed tremendous heart in beating a very good Richlands team. Richlands is showing me I wasn't wrong.

Heard Gate City beat Science Hill (5-A TN) 28-8 last week. Also heard Science Hill had around 60 on their roster.

Realistically, we played several backups on the line in the second half obviously trying to get some depth on the line. Pound absolutely couldn't do anything on offense. Then again, we didn't exactly burn the field up neither. Pound's first team scored on GC's backups with under a minute left to make the score seem closer than it was.

Wow I guess if Gate City and Richlands are as weak as we've heard this week, Grundy must be in a mess of trouble. Sorry, I couldn't resist. Good job Blues!

It resembled the 3OT game with Graham several years back IMO. The only difference was the length of the game. Ringstaff's a fine looking back when he gets cranked up. Good luck to you guys the rest of the season.

Let's give Powell Valley the trophy and cancel the rest of the season. Keep on underestimating GC. Those kids love it.

Those offensive problems will work out for both teams. For the first game of the season, you can expect offensive problems. Both teams were out to knock each others heads off, then shook hands like two class programs afterwards. Just a great high school football game.

I read where Richlands pretty much had their way with them. I hope we (GC) improves before the first game. We're going to have our hands full with the Blues.

Nice having the Graham folks back at Legion Field tonight. We've upgraded considerably since you were there last. You folks seem to have a nice team to field again this year (as always). Not sure of their names, but the QB (6) and RB (1) are impressive athletes. You should see some fine football in Bluefield this season. Hopefully soon we'll be able to line up against you again, only this time for real. Hope everyone had a safe trip and good luck on the season.

The worst that can happen is one or two days of ISS. I don't agree with the smoking, but when a kid gets caught snorting pills during class and his mother tries to cause problems for others, she should try to help her son that appears to have a serious problem. I was so excited after winning the state championship I would've ate a whole box of cigars. As I said, the worst that could happen is a couple of days ISS and there are only 2 players that you can see clearly and one of them no longer attends GCHS.

You can get here from 58. If you turn off 58 heading towards Nickelsville just keep driving straight and you'll be in GC. I-81 might be the easiest way though. If any of you guys come down this way, have a safe trip.

Isn't there a George Wythe in eastern Virginia also? I thought there was anyway.
