Exactly correct. It's worth it to drive 3 hours to Wake Forest or 3 1/2 hours to UVA to get that quality of medical care. And my deepest sympathies to those affected by this awful accident.

To put it very bluntly, if people would stop voting Democrat, we wouldn't be having these types of discussions. Especially given that a VERY high percentage of those who run as Democrats are not coincidenally rabid supporters of abortion. And frankly, this is the #1 reason I vote Republican. Top of the list.

I feel the same way. As long as the President does right by and for the American people, I wouldn't mind which party or what his/her personal history.

I don't think it's a mere coincidence that in the first Democrat-controlled Congress since 1994, they have passed the smallest amount of legislation since 1848.

But the thing is, those little things DO affect you. They affect the companies you work for, how you are classified as a worker, the tax bracket you reside in. Those little things affect good old #1. And we're never informed of them.

The average turnout in Canada is 78%. France-81%. It's a true shame.

How many Americans can tell you Obama's stance upon the Commerce Clause? How about McCain's view of the Tenth Amendment? What about Obama's stance on the Detainee Treatment Act? How about McCain's view on separation of powers? There are a ton of big issues that no one speaks on, and neither candidate has spoken on, because it's not a media-friendly affair. But these are the issues that affect so much of what the government actually does, and does for us as citizens and for the nation around the world. I bet 20% of lay-people cannot answer this truthfully. It's a shame, considering what the true issues are.

I couldn't think more exactly the opposite of what you do. Nader is exactly an old fart who brings far left views very similar to Obama. He's just running for any party who'll support him.

This happened in a Constitutional Law class at Penn State, with the exception of this girl summarily bashing conservatives with no basis. I bashed more of the "Do Nothing Congress" she claimed to support, but I got a few good shots at Obama in there as well. The full text is on Page 2 of the thread. Needless to say, she hasn't spewed her unsupportable biases anymore. ;)
