  1. Sorry just saw this, but yes has committed to Marshall.
  2. Devon Johnson has given a verbal commitment to Marshall University according to the Facebook page of one Richlands player. Congrats to him on having the chance to play football at the next level but most importantly continue his education at Marshall!
  3. Personally I would rather have RichRod as the head ball coach (can't believe I just said that). Rodriguez was one Pat White no show from playing for the National Championship only a few years ago. Leach has a career record of 84-43 at TT, but take away his one break out year in 08, they were no better than 5-3 in the Big 12 only once. Even that year, the freshman safety(can't think of his name right off), dropped an easy pick that would have sealed TT's conference record at 6-2 once again. Either way can't trust the numbers because Chizik had an under .500 record before taking the post at Auburn. But someone will give both of these guys a chance very soon in the future, most likely after next year they will be roaming the sidelines again.
  4. I believe Canes00 was referencing the fact that the Falcons road to the Super Bowl wouldn't be any easier due to the Seahawks winning if GB wins at Philly. GB wins tomorrow, then they would travel to Atlanta, much tougher matchup for the Falcons. Today was a big upset, but to say a home team winning at home, in the playoffs, againist a team down to their #5 RB is the greatest upset all-time in the NFL may be bit of a stretch.
  5. Kevin Rogers was recently fired by the Vikings. Any chance that the Tech coaching staff would welcome him back into the fold. How was he as a recruiter? If memory serves correctly he was a solid QB's coach, either way will be better than O'Cain. Maybe can get him back on staff and work with LT, to groom him into the starting spot.
  6. Heard some rumors this afternoon about some "sources" telling of Tressel leaving after the Sugar Bowl. Has anything more come of this in the last few hours?
  7. SWVASports.com, The Gift That Keeps on Giving! Merry Christmas To All!
  8. Thanks guys. I was fairly certain that things were spread out in and around Miami. In your alls opinions, does it seem like there will be a large number of Hokie faithful making the trip or will this be like the previous 2 Orange Bowl trips?
  9. Any of you guys who have traveled to Miami before for games have any recommendations for hotel accomodations? Looking for something affordable for college students but something nice and nearby for some fun.
  10. The line for the Insight Bowl had been pulled earlier today, Deadspin reported earlier in the night that a large number of players were going to be suspended or kicked off team. Looks like things will def. be messy.
  11. I think saying that Florida has no hope and will be losing most of their games is a bit of strong statement. I honestly don't see their program spiraling out of control. Florida was completely raided of talent by the NFL draft. Not just TT, but Haden, Hernadez, Pouncey, Cooper, Spikes, Cunningham, Dunlap. There is not too many teams that can suffer major loses at key positions and be sucessful. Just like your Horns have young guys at key positions Florida has some young guys that saw significant time this year that will only be helpful in the future. Florida still has great pull in recruiting not only in the talent-rich state of Florida but nationally as well. Besides, if Cam Newton hadn't been a knucklehead, he'd still be wearing a different shade of orange and blue and the SEC would have looked much different this year.
  12. Texas would only get 9 wins a season in the ACC? Hokies with 7 straight 10 win campaigns, longest such streak in the nation.
  13. In the bowl selection process, if #2 ACC is set to play in the Chick-Fil-A/Peach Bowl, doesn't mean the 2nd place team from that conference. That means that bowl has 2nd choice of team from that conference. So after the ACC champion is taken to the Orange Bowl, Peach has their choice of any bowl eligible team. From SEC it would have 5th pick of any bowl eligible team. Same for all bowls and conferences.
  14. Yessir, Pat Forde reporting it now too. University just issued a release confirming it.
  15. I'm on Twitter and since I'm living down here in Gator Country I follow all the Gator insiders, they are all saying that Meyer is meeting with the team right now and is set to announce at a presser at 5 that he is stepping down..........
  16. Poquoson, Saturday at 12. Liberty University
  17. Was able to be in town and watch my one and only Richlands game last week againist CS. In talking with those who would know, they stated that the state championship was played in the Reg IV Div 3 Final. I'll go ahead and say that the Blues will roll again next week.
  18. I should have replaced "conference" with "Texas" in my previous post. It is no secret to the public that they rule the Big XII.

Doesn't GMan say something about Germans and Pearl Harbor in a situation like this?? http://www.swvasports.com/forum/showthread.php?t=19882&page=2
  20. I think the major factor in the whole TCU move to the BE is Dueces point about making a BCS Bowl game more easily. As it is now, TCU must be perfect every weekend, win every game and still run the risk of not making one of the BCS bowls. Before Boise lost, there was still an outside chance that TCU could have missed out on making one of the top bowl games. Now in the BE, 7,8,9 wins will earn the school a 13 million dollar payout and if I'm not mistaken there is no revenue sharing between schools so that will be all heading towards TCU athletic expenses. With this move to the BE, this may help keep Paterson around instead of bolting for other high profile jobs. Regardless of what anyone says about the number of teams from Texas in the Big XII, give it 4-5 years, they will want a championship game once again and the conference will come knocking on TCU's door.
  21. NFL has been cracking down on helmet to helmet hits, lets see what they do about fist to back of head hits. Id say both will be a little lighter in the pocket come next week, along with getting a 1 game vacation.
  22. According to the newspaper guys that follow VT, it's for win number "9" that would seal the Coastal Division Championship
  23. If Vick continues to play at this level, then he isn't going anywhere. He will end up getting paid in Philly.
  24. http://sports.espn.go.com/fantasy/football/ffl/story?id=5811462 Different leagues have different scoring settings, but here is an article for top fantasy performances according to ESPN.
