  1. Did anyone go to the Game tonight... I missed it my nephew locked the keys up. I heard that Cordero H. and Marquel Ali did pretty good. Also..........Does anyone know if they sell copies of these games. I never needed 'em cause I havent missed many.
  2. my prayers are with the team.. lets hope that they all get better.
  3. You know all of this stuff really ticks me off... The kid that you are refering too was a really nice guy and respectable young man. He spoke to me on many occaisions about how the programs were similar and how he looked forward to playing for Bluefield. I hate that he didn't get to. He just all of sudden left but up until that point he had gotten much stronger increased his speed and I believed that had he made till august he would have increased his knowledge of the game. When you guys get on here and bicker/ argue you insult those kids at James Monroe and other schools. Sadly enough you probably arent well connected to any of them. I am and I hate that you paint a picture of the students / faculty/ and staff at JM who are really a nice group of people. I am in costant contact with so many of the aforementioned and none of them ever say dumb stuff like you did in your post... you should stop.
  4. Mavs you are a psycho and a liar... the kid that you speak of was well liked and allowed to make up days from weightlifting as is every other player.... I know personally that Coach Simon and the assistants help any and all student athletes who pursue their dreams of moving on to the next level... I dont know exactly where you get your information from but they dont know a thing about our program............ as far as your other accusations get real man, really get real!!! Suggestion 1. Mind your own buisness and stay out of the affairs of people who are doing the right thing. Suggestion 2. Take notes...........Dismissed.
  5. Merry Christmas to you all... i agree with the previous post. The guys out there banging deserve our utmost respect. They in essence keep our youthful days only a memory or a play away.. God Bless 'em all and may he (GOD) be with you and your families/friends throughout this Christmas/Haunnaka/Kwanza/ and the countless other Holiday season........I pray that those same blessings willl carryout through the entire year of 2008.
  6. I agree.. the coaches and sports writers make those decisions but I believe the system is in need of a change. There are a number of young men who get bumped off of the charts for a number of reasons, some of which are not good reasons at all. A couple of years ago I felt that there were a lot of kids from Bluefield and other area schools who didnt make it on the "All State List". As for Aaron Bowes.... He is one heckuva athlete and individual, if they gave an award for heart and hustle he would have surely won it hands down. I believe that he may have been looked over because 1. He was not the biggest person on the field. 2. he was such a factor early on in the season that the last half of the season people were double teaming him etc.(He still raised 4***), and 3. These so-called sports professionals may not be as smart as they are given credit for being. Bowes if you are out there listen to an old buddy and keep that head up. Trust me when I tell you that , their material award or achievement will never take the place of the love, loyalty , and trust that you help to instill in the hearts and minds of the Bluefield Beaver Faithful. Your efforts will forever be remembered, appreciated and applauded.
  7. I totally agree... Shaun is one of the best athletes in the area....however he is very humble and will be ok overall. I am sure that coaches on the next level have and or will recognize his effort and award him accordingly. God Bless The Bluefield Beavers.
  8. truly a champion... i have shared many good times with this young man and I'm telling you guys I will not be surprised to see him excel on every level in life. May God Bless him and his buddies. That particular group of seniors have always been together , always won it all, and will always be number 1 in my book.
  9. Does anyone have pictures taken after the Game Friday Night. I would love to have one if possible.
  10. Shaun has always been an exceptional athlete and a great young man....he has however been misunderstood in the past leading people to believe that he was/is something that he is not...... Whatever the case he has strong family support, the support of his teammates and coaches, as well as support from much of the community. May God Bless this young man to continue to hone his skills, I truly believe that he has the potential to go as far as he wants to go in life.
  11. heard it on the radio.....but thanks... I'm a goof sometimes
  12. Has anyone heard this score yet?
  13. Thanks for speaking up... this person should closely watch what they say.
  14. good luck to the mighty G-Men.... Bring it home
  15. Yep the Owls seem to be on the upswing... they possess a very storied history. There is a lot of tradition at Big creek... It's terible that a lot of it will be lost with thhe consolidation. That is if the community allows it. Not even twenty five miles away is a perfect example of what consolidations can do to tradition.....by any means God bless the owls and their coaches/ fans/ and community.
  16. The truth of the matter...... Jordan Roberts deserves all of the rewards and congratulations that he has recieved and more, however we must realize that this kid did not get all of his record breaking yards against Bluefield. he did in fact run up yardage totals against lesser oponents. Does that take away from the fact that a major goal for himself and you cheery fans was accomplished against our team??? NO.. it just means that a great back has had a great game , against a great team. God Bless his accomplishment and lets move on. As for Bluefields Defense.....I BELIEVE and PRAY that it will continue to perform, increase it's perfomance when needed and remain to be victorious.
  17. Go Owls!!!!! Years ago I played against some pretty good competition teams from Big Creek. It was during a time when the morale and economy of McDowell County had began to decline. I gained respect from those teams because they were always smaller and less talented but it was always a task to win/ break their spirits. This years Owls seem to have revived some of that old school mindset. I wish the much improved Owls the best of luck no matter who they face in the playoffs (if they win this Friday). ...
  18. that's a bunch of bull... I do believe that Richlands has a good team however those officials were horrible. There is no way that any sane person would allow kids to get away with some of that stuff. You really can't put the blame on the Richlands student athletes or coaches but I sure hope that they have enough integrity and pride to never hire that crew again...... God Bless The Bluefield Beavers and The Richlands Blue Tornado.
  19. Thats funny that you mention Jake.... That kid from scott looks a lot like him.... same physique, hair, and competiveness...met him at some spring sports events. Good Kid..however I pray that our D will have a repeat performance this year..
  20. Poor Irish..... i wish them luck but it will be hard to pull themselves out of this hole.
