1. Sounds like this coach is the ultimate egotistical A$$. He just ruined some kids dream... turned it into a reoccurring nightmare for the rest of their lives. It sad to know that he coached for so long and didn't learn one D@mn thing about the spirit of the youth especially those youth that choose to battle it out through practices, games, and every other challenge included in our beloved game. If and when they reinstate the program I hope that the people of that community is not crazy enough to allow him to coach their children.
2. Montcalm by 3 final score Montcalm 24 Pocy 21.....That Montcalm group is making some headway to get into the playoffs this year and though Pocy is blowing a little steam themselves they will probably fall to the Generals this week.
3. Trojan I agree!!! Both of these teams have their strengths as well as quite a few weaknesses... Friday Graham was a few plays of turning it all around when boom ... a questionable call against them and they sort of layed it down..In the past Mount View has done the same thing, if things don't go their way in a tight situation they would just hang those helmets up and watch the scoreboard lights flicker for the other team.... I plan on being at this one for sure.... It's gonna be a great night down on Premeire Mountain Friday.
4. James Monroe Mount View Sherman Oak Hill Iaeger Montcalm Tug Valley Christiansburg Salem Richlands Gate City Grayson Brookeville George Wythe Martinsville
5. A few Mt View players... I know I'm missing a few Jerrold Long MV WVU/Marshall David Edwards MV WVU Concord Kevin Duboise MV WVU Concord Leon Gravely Concord NFL??? Tracey Gravely Concord NFL (Giants superbowl) CFL Greg Vineyard MV Hofstra Kris Starkey Marshall??
6. Beckley Webster Mountview Man Chapmanville Fayetteville Greenbrier West Meadow Bridge Tazwell Ji Burton George Wythe Giles Eastern Montgomery Marion
7. did you forget that you would still have to face poca, Mt.View, and magnolia????
8. NIce Website...... This was one of the best teams that we faced this year. Not only were/are they great football players but also great young men. I deal with a lot of Monroe Countians and there isn't any bad reports or comments made about these young men. God Bless them all as well as the coaches and that Crazy, Loyal , Fan Base they have. Thanks for two exciting Games...excuse me...Four! The JV teams also played twice.
9. Sadly I never met the man either. However I have heard the stories of him, his father, brother, and other family and I'm here to tell you that this family was/is exceptional. Jay's memory still lives on in the hearts and minds of the Bluefield faithful. It is an honor to walk the halls and fields where this legendary figure once ruled. God Bless him and his family and I pray that our present students in Bluefield continue to live up to Jay's challenge.
10. I agree. Congrats to the student athletes and coaches at Montcalm that have put so much into the program. I pray that they find the courage and heart to continue shocking people this year. GOD BLESS!!!
11. Excuse the interruption but have you ever considered the fact that coach Simon and company is a class act. They teach young men the fundementals of football and the lessons of life. I do not believe that they would ever stoop to that level (paying refs)nor would they ever drink any concoction composed of watermelon. Maybe you could catch them in wheeling later this year...probably dining on steak and sipping Billaud-Simon Chablis or some other fine wine.
12. Big Al has looked great in these last two games...
13. he's a fine back.... I love his attitude he never quits. He has taken a pounding thus far this season and he continues to chug along. Not as big as I thought he'd be but I guess he makes up for it with heart.
14. As usual i am a little late to reply but here goes. Don't let the score fool ya.. The Bluefield team moved the ball well and they played well on defense. i thought that they would have won it but turned the ball over a couple of times in crucial situations. Those youngsters are gonna be great once they put it all together. Who is # 16 for the young Beavers?????
15. Trust me guys those issues will be resolved. You have to remember that a few of those guys are not accustomed to the smack you in the mouth-type football that the beavers play.Actually a few of them have never played football as we know it. If there is one thing that i can assure you of it would be that Coach Simon and company will have their guys ready to play come next week. This is not the first time that beavers have faltered in the first couple of games and then rebounded only to have their critics quickly realize how stupid it is to count a man or in this case men out before the season is over. I am looking for a complete turnaround very soon. Keep your eyes open. Oh!!!!!!! GOD BLESS THE BEAVERS!!!!!
16. I totally agree!!! Bluefield Football is on a whole other page from most programs...(in-state and out-of-state.. One can only understand the magnitude of what is being done only when they are present to witness the growth of the athletes both mentally and physically. Coach Simon and company played quite a few underclassmen this past year and if those young 'uns get in the weight room this off season and train to BEAVER specs... then I say that P-Burg South,North,East, and West can expect an *** whoopin'. I do respect the power of that program but we must all remember that Bluefield is the undisputed KING of West Virginia Football!!!
17. tomorrow night will tell the tale.....if Beaver can just stay composed they will put themselves in a position to take it all....I know that Coach G, Coach Webster, and Coach Ellison would all love to add another beautiful ring to their fingers............can you imagine what those seniors are dreaming of doing??? God's speed Beavers!!!! Now let's go kick some Bobcat booty BEAVER style!!!!
18. Luke is definately one of the best and he and his strong kicking leg are goin' places.. Let us not forget that Mr. Stones field goals always come at the right time (Martinsburg) etc., etc.,.... Luke if you get the opportunity to read this then remember.... "God has blessed you with a gift and he will not let your gift be unused."
19. Dear Lord be with the BEAVERS tonight, give us the strength to win this fight.
20. Despite my not being a very big Graham fan, I must admit that their program is always on the up and up....... Coach Carlock is one of the best coaches in the history of Virginia football. I advise you all not to write Graham off. If you take the time to review their past you will see that usually after taking a loss to the BEAVERS in the opener the G-MEN will kick the snot out of everybody else. G-MEN keep your head and your hopes high... DOUBTERS keep your eyes open those boyz have something to prove in the SWD.
