  1. I was born and educated in Buchanan county . I still have relatives at Grundy and playing sports. I am ashamed of the lack of class by the Golden Wave fan's on this website, that can't be good loser's. You was defeated by a great team and Marcum is good running back ( Not All- World as Lance built him up to be).Let's give credit where credit is due: Cain Ringstaff is a much better running back. Pick up your broken pride and beat Beaver next week. I wish you the best , for the rest of the football season.
  2. I saw cleatgate last night. Marcum laying on his back with his cleats up in the air. I will take Smith, Harrison and Addison any day. Lee High ? What about Haysi, Oak Hill and the mighty Ky basketball teams, that are want to be football teams? Pikeville college would love to have him , next year.
  3. I agree, Grundy will upset Richlands 21-10. Marcum will get his 200 yards. The Blues are reading too many of their newspaper clippings. They are ripe to be knocked off their pedestal.I think winning the big trophy @ Honaker doesn't help our program. If Bostic had not been injured, the final score would have been different. I will be pulling for the Blues but from my view it doesn' look good for the home team
  4. Shane I wish you a speedy recovery. We will miss you on our special teams. You was playing great. The other players will have to take up the void, with you and Caleb out. also, Cody Vandyke. God Bless all of you!!!! Take them one at a time and part the waters of the Golden Wave, with THE STORM.
  5. Good defense , keep it up. The MCracken to Stanton combination is their all game long and they aren't taking avantage of it. They both are division 1 players.
  6. I heard through a father of one of his teammates, that his ankle was fractured and would be out until the Tazewell game. I hope that isn't true because he is a valuble access to the team. Smith and Addison will have to take up the void. Caleb, I wish you a speedy recovery. God Bless!
  7. It is good to see everthing doesn't revolve around Jennings. Doc told me he should be ready for the Grundy game. I thought Smith , McCracken and Addison made some good runs. McCracken made some good passes and Stanton bailed him out on a couple of bad throws. The defense looked good and came up big , when they need to. I believe this team could be really special, if they will take one game at time and not look ahead.

  10. Richlands on defense looked good up front but fair at linebacker and their secondary is too small, except Simmons. Simmons will only get better, after being out of football for the past few years. They were getting burnt all night long and Gate City will exploit their weakness. On offense they will score a lot of points, if they will get the ball in Jennings and Stanton's hands. Jennigs had a good run and Stanton made a high-light catch, after faking PC's defender out of his shoes. Overall I think RHS will surprise a lot of teams this year.
  11. Rural Retreat dominated the fantastic five. Tim Hays, sports writer, who compiled the list must be a RRS Graduate. Are they really that good?
  12. I think the passing combination of McCrackin to Stanton is going to be very effective. The few games I saw last year, Stanton can make the difficult catches. McCrackin's strong arm, Stanton's good hands and Jennings running ability will be hard to stop. Gayheart and Payne looked good on defense, against Christianburg. When Arms returns this trio wil be a force to score on. I hope to be in town more this football season and attend more games. Richlands fans reminds me of my old high school @ Massillon, Ohio. We love our football.
  13. Bench -a- thon is a glorified Mr. Universe contest, to see who can lift our principal, over their head. Has nothing to do with football.
  14. Rob Stanton has the interest of several colleges. He is one smooth receiver.
  15. Mike Gentry timed the football team last week and guess who is #1 ? 1.Marcus Vick 4.28 13.Cedric Humes 4.46 2.Robert Parker 4.33 14.Justin Born 4.46 3.David Clowmey 4.33 15.Chris Albright 4.47 4.Cory Price 4.33 16.Michael Malone 4.47 5.Roland Minor 4.35 17.Theodore Miller 4.48 6.Jimmy Williams 4.36 18.James Anderson 4.48 7.Justin Harper 4.36 19.Brandon Flowers 4.49 8.D.J.Parker 4.37 20.Chris Ceasar 4.49 9.Josh Hyman 4.41 21.Justin Hamilton 4.5 10.Mike Imoh 4.42 22.Xavier Adibi 4.5 11.Aaron Rouse 4.44 23.John Thibodeau 4.5 12.Branden Ore 4.44 24.Jermy Gilcrist 4.5 Eddie Royal did run because of an injury. Two 300+ lbs. Will Montgomery and Jason Murphy were timed at 4.85
  16. I think Richlands will be in the thick of SWD race, after the coaching change. Coach McGee coached the rising seniors in the eighth grade to the Tazewell county champs and Jodie Fuller coached them this year to the SWD championship. RHS will surprise a lot of people next year under Coach McGee. Adam Davis and Jodie Fuller will assist him. That will be a winning coaching staff. They had the best talent in the SWD this year but had no leader, as coach. Basketball is back at Richlands!!!!!!!
  17. Arms and Stanton had two homeruns each last year.
  18. I don't think Va Tech did not offer Cain an invite? With the high school all-americian running backs VT has signed, Cain would not have a chance
  19. I forgot the best second baseman in Southwest Virginia and hitter for Richlands: Travis Tatum. Sorry Travis!!!!
  20. Richlands best hitters are: Garrett Arms, Rob Stanton,Craig Robinson and Justin Williams
  21. If you had the opportunity to watch any RHS football this year you would have seen Stanton's athletic ability. They tell me his one handed catch against Grundy was NfL. Also, I saw the video of his two catches, in a crowd at Virginia High.I only saw the Tazewell game and he had a great catch for a first down. He catches everything that is catchable, they tell me.
  22. I apologize to "Russ" Hamilton about my previous remarks. What I meant to say was he will never replace Timmy Brown. I think he will get a lot of playing time this year. Also, Craig Robinson is the best returning varsity player and Rob Stanton is the best Jr. Varsity player moving up. In my opinion with his 6'4" frame and scoring ability he should be one of the starters. I hope to catch some of your games this year, when I am in town. On a football note The Hokies have converted me from a former Ohio State Buckeye, to a Hokie fan. These Hokie fans are awesome @ Lane stadium. The loudest stadium I have every been in and that includes my own Ohio State. Good luck RHS against Bassett Friday . Go Blues, Hokies and Buckeyes!!
  23. I am former resident of Ohio, i palayed footbal, basketbal and baseball for West Cleveland high and we played some tough basketball around Cleveland. I watched several of RHS games last year and Hamilton didn't show me much. He would have been lucky to make our Jr. varsity team at West Cleveland High School. The two players that could have played for us was Craig Robinson and the Rob Stanton.
