I have known Joe for years and was shocked to hear this news yesterday. He was only 37 and it is times like this that should remind us that we are not promised tomorrow and to cherish each moment we have. My thoughts and prayers are with his family. He will be missed.
I am not able to attend the games today either but I have a friend there texting me updates. Not sure of the details, but George Wythe beat Mt View 21-6 and Graham beat Wayne 6-0.
Here is the link to another article in today's paper.....the saga continues. I will keep my opinion on some of the comments in the article to myself though.

According to the paper today, the 2007 Hustle Up Streetball Tour will be at the Bluefield Rec Center Thursday, March 29th at 7pm. Tickets in advance are $15 at the rec center, Bluefield High and Middle Schools. There are $20 at the door
Bears will win in a close game. I expect the defense to force turnovers as they have all season. Look for Hester to run at least one back and Jones will have a great game
Just heard on the news that rape charges have been dropped against three guys because the woman says she is not sure now if she was raped or not. Interesting.
This was the same score at the half when these two met in the playoffs last year. Graham dominated the second half though. Hope history repeats itself.

The barons looked like they had alot of conflict with each other and stuff. Didnt look to much like a team

That's for sure. There was one instant towards the end of the game when one Baron had another by the neck.
I know this will not make or break Bluefield Baron football but they will not get another $8.00 of mine. The language that these guys was using on the sidelines last night was uncalled for. Especially since there are always young kids standing along the fence admiring these guys for their so called "semi-pro" status. One player even got in the face of one coach and told him that they needed to get their *&$# together. This same player also made it a habit of coming off the field and throwing his helmet and spewing off a famous four letter word when something did not go right.
Just as in all cases, a few bad people give everyone a bad name.
Tazewell County now closed but Mercer still on two hour delay. The roads are pretty bad in most spots...unless u travel 460. Be careful heading out this morning.
