  1. I think somewhere along the way what I have been trying to say has been misunderstood. I am in no way trying to compare my thoughts with that of a player. I am simply stating that it appeared to me that anytime an opposing team got a few points up on Graham this year, they did not have the desire to try to fight to win.
  2. I want to say losing seasons are harder on the players than the fans. Each player or team goes through a growing process. As a fan I can only hope that the returning players have grown from this past season. They are the only ones that can look at each other and ask themselves "did we do all that we could do". If they have learned from the 04 season, it will be shown in the intensity of the players on the field. It appears by the post from "pistol4" that he is a player and that the returning players may have learned something from 04.
  3. [ QUOTE ] It's pretty easy for people to take shots and criticize players from a message board. If you're saying these kids had no heart or desire, you obviously never played football yourself in high school and the entire process of foreign to you. Like total said, I'd like to see you actually say that to any one of those kids who busted their tails in practice for several months just to have some jackass criticize them on a message board. [/ QUOTE ] FYI...No I have never played high school football but I have faithfully followed the G-men since 1988. The 2004 team was one that appeared to me to not have that "come from behind" attitude to win a game when they were down. Carlock and his staff can teach football fundamentals and discipline but you cannot teach the attitude of "I want it more than you". I am very much aware of how hard players work each and every year both on and off the field, and it is not my intention to critize anyone. I simply feel that the intensity that I have seen from previous years was not displayed on the field at each game this year.
  4. [ QUOTE ] The new class of G-men have a different outlook on this upcoming season, in that they truly CARE about winning and losing. [/ QUOTE ] Preach it pistol4. The 2004 G-Men lacked heart and the desire to win. I can't wait to see that desire back on the field again.
  5. Graham has alot of talent returning. Friday night should be a great match-up.
  6. [ QUOTE ] If Graham is trailing Bluefield 41-0 at halftime again next year then the G-Men had better just cancel the rest of their season. [/ QUOTE ] I CAN TOTALLY AGREE WITH THAT
  7. [ QUOTE ] I read this morning where PC beat Graham 93-70 last night. I didn't realize until last year really that PC produced good basketball teams... [/ QUOTE ] I didn't really know that much about them until just a few days ago. I knew they would be a real test for Graham though. Graham is now 1-1. Next stop - Bluefield. LET'S GO G-MEN!
  8. I can give credit where credit is due and send my congrats to Bluefield on their terrific season but do not expect to have Graham down 41-0 at half come next August.
  9. [ QUOTE ] im anxious to see these bluefield beavers whip up on graham again...lol [/ QUOTE ] Don't expect to see a repeat of 08/27/04 come next August
  10. Not sure about the details, but the game wasn't listed on the schedule that I pulled from the schools website. The first I heard about it was when Lance posted it yesterday on the schedule.
  11. Both Varsity and JV took their first win last night against Pocahontas. JV won 58-47 and Varsity won 75-32. Next on the schedule ---- Pulaski. LETS GO G-MEN!!!!
  12. Comments on the Graham/Pulaski game tomorrow night? Anyone know anything about Pulaski this year? Any info will be helpful.
  13. I agree with your earlier post about the parking lot Lance. If the City of Bluefield does not have the money to pave it, at least they could weed eat the grass growing through the cracks.
  14. If this change was ever to be made, I think a maroon field with the Bluefield and Graham helmets in the center with Graham and Bluefield in each end zone would be the fair thing to do. I think we are just dreaming though.
  15. I will agree that a new field at Mitchell Stadium would be nice, but do I need to remind everyone that Graham PAYS (just as Bluefield does) to use this field too!!!
  16. I agree....GREAT JOB guys!!! Can't wait until 2005.
  17. Just curious....has anyone heard any rumors on who Graham will add to their schedule next year?
  18. I agree that Gretna is a tough experienced football team. I was at the Graham/Gretna game last year and saw first hand what kind of team they are. I would like to see Tazewell pull this one out but at the end of 4 quarters Gretna will be the winner. If Tazewell does not control the clock, it could get ugly real quick.
  19. Thanks for the radio info. Hope I get to come down to watch it though. Should be a GREAT game.
  20. What radio station broadcasts the Rlands games? I would love to see this one but just in case I can't make it down, I want to listen to it.
  21. Been viewing site for two years and decided to get on board. Good luck to Richlands and Tazewell this Saturday. Wish it was my G-Men playing in the state semis but thats a different story. Represent our district WELL guys!!!!
