  1. I have heard from a couple of different sources that Haysi and Bluefield will play in the regular season in '06. I don't know I guess we'll see.
  2. Have you seen Haysi play UVAObserver? They are the most talented team in Region D this year...I won't speak for Giles because I have not seen them play.
  3. I think Honaker was better than any team PV played all year and I think they were better than PV as well from what I saw on Saturday.
  4. Haysi runes a pro set with 2 receivers and 1 TE...they will run shotgun from time to time on passing downs but they are a strong running team with 3 good backs.
  5. Its six of one half a dozen of the other...If I didn't know the area I would feel more comfortable staying on the same route as long as possible so I would just go down 460 all the way to Vansant...Vansant is 14 miles from downtown Haysi...Most people from Giles are going to know how to get to Haysi because they brought a huge crowd back in '93...I say just get in a convoy.
  6. Haysi runs a basic pro style with 2 wideouts and 1 Tight End. They will also go to the shotgun on occasion with different formations either 2, 3 or 4 wide.
  7. I strongly believe Haysi is the best team PV has faced this year including Breathitt, KY and Seymour, TN. We'll see.
  8. Haysi will suit up about 40 kids. PV does have some good RB's and Mitchell is a capable runner as well. Last year they ran the ball alot out of the spread with McKinney who was arguably the best back in the LPD with the possible exception of Fleming from Clintwood. The thing I think could come into play is PV has some underclassmen playing very big roles while Haysi has a few more veterans at key positions. I look for that to be the deciding factor and the more experienced BDD crew come out on top. Haysi 27 PV 13
  9. I would say the same if Honaker had won...appreciate that thirtyone.
  10. Haysi 17 Honaker 7 Gate City 30 Powell Valley 14 JI Burton 26 Rye Cove 6 Appy 38 Hurley 20
  11. Honaker 14 Haysi 9 Haysi was stopped on 4th and short at the Honaker 25 yard line with less than 2 minutes to go in the game.
  12. Yeah Heath was pretty tough...Kory was terrible. He was a good football player but killed us in basketball time and time again with bad shots(40 foot air balls) and bad passes(no look behind the back turnovers). It was like when the mustard falls off the "hot dog."
  13. He was fair...nothing special. Honaker was a better team the next year when he didn't play basketball.
  14. Are you talking basketball only? If so no way Heath Miller makes the list.
  15. Gate City 7 JI Burton 6 Powell Valley 21 Appalachia 20 Honaker 28 Tazewell 26 Haysi 42 Ervinton 0 Va High 20 Lee 17 Clintwood 26 Pound 14
  16. I believe Honaker was fortunate to win the first one with Haysi controlling much of the game so I definitely give the edge to the red if they were to meet again. Hopefully they will...doesn't matter to me where its at.
  17. If you are talking basketball no I don't think the SWD matches up very well with the BDD...not very well at all.
  18. I heard alot of people mention the helmet throwing incident and what a shame it was to see that. From my understanding the player did not get ejected from the game??? Unbelievable if that is so.
  19. BBaller23 that truly was an idiotic comment you made about Colley running up the score...get a life dude. Its 40 to 6 at half time and Haysi only scores once in the 2nd half in an intentional effort to keep from running up the score. Heck they downed the ball several times on the 3 yard line to keep from scoring with their 2nd team....Haysi could have put up 60 or 70 if they wanted to run it up...anyone with half a brain could have seen that. Anyway good luck for the rest of the season and I hope Hurley does well in the playoffs.
  20. There is no way they will meet again because Hurley is division 1 and Haysi is division 2.
  21. Every last Haysi fan says every week that Haysi never kicks the ball deep....it wouldn't matter if Hurley had Butterbean returning kicks we are still not kicking deep, get over it already.
  22. I think Haysi was a little perturbed with all the talk that they would go down this week...I noticed last weekend some of the players seemed to have a chip on there shoulder about that and felt like they wasn't getting the respect they deserved.
  23. Hurley won the BDD championship in '92 beating Haysi 22-6 in the process. In the last 21 seasons Hurley has only been able to register 2 regular season wins('86,'92) against Haysi and 2 playoff wins('86,'96) while Haysi has garnered 19 regular season wins and also a playoff victory against the Rebels('91). I am very glad to see this game take on some significance...good news for everybody involved. The BDD has to be happy about it.
