[ QUOTE ] did he even play? [/ QUOTE ] 2 TD's, one on a punt return.

Ahmad tears it up......... 6 carries 46 yards 1 catch 9 yards 2 Kick Return 50 yards Also had another 40 yard run called back due to a hold....There is no doubt to me, he is making the team and will see significant playing time this year, with an expanded role next year, maybe as the starter. You can't teach running instinct, much like you can't teach speed, and he is the only Giant back with it. Steal of the draft anyone?

[/ QUOTE ] "Oh, come on!!! There's got to be more transfers from Bluefield to Graham...that's the only reason Graham EVER wins a game..."...end quote of typical Bluefield fan... [/ QUOTE ] Who the hell said that and when?? [/ QUOTE ] About half the beaver posters, and for the better part of five years now.......

[ QUOTE ] I was over there yesterday and it hit me as I was driving by the school - Pikeville is a CITY school (so is Paintsville), seperate from the county school system. We have a few too - Va. High is a Bristol city school (not Washington Co.), JI Burton is a Norton city (not a Wise Co.) school and Martinsville isn't a Henry Co. school. [/ QUOTE ] Yes that's true, but they are still private, and they still recruit. And I am pretty sure they don't play for state championships with public schools.

[ QUOTE ] I just got finished video from WVVA's website of their Football Friday feature from this past Friday night. It was absolutely horrible and painful to watch. They were showing highlights from one game and talking about another game. They didn't even show or tell the scores on a number of games they highlighted. And during one set of highlights there was dead silence for a good 10 seconds and then you hear "Uh touchdown." It must have been amateur hour on Friday night or something. Are the sports guys always that horrible? [/ QUOTE ] There is a reason those guys work at WVVA, only WOAY is worse.

[ QUOTE ] Back to the topic of crowd size. Someone just told that the Rec. Dept. estimated the crowd at 13,500... [/ QUOTE ] I was told 14,600

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] I guess that "new era" that began after last year's game only lasted a year. Remember, the "new era" in which momentum was shifting in Graham's favor in the all-time series? [/ QUOTE ] I guess you didn't pay attention last night. You beat us, you didn't kill us. And we sure helped you along the way. The new era is still alive and well. The series is 5-4 Bluefield since 2000. That is pretty even to me..... [/ QUOTE ] I guess Bluefield didn't have anything to do with those turnovers like forcing them or anything? Graham came out and tried to play smashmouth on Bluefield but guess what? We were tougher and hit a lot harder, plus we added on a little speed to boot. Statistics are subjective and can be manipulated to support any argument, so look at the overall series and you'll see that Bluefield was, is, and has always been firmly in control of the overall series. So you keep looking at these little random time frames and earning those small, moral victories and I'll just see the big picture for what it is. [/ QUOTE ] Who said anything about the big picture? Oh yeah, you did when numbers backed up my argument. I know it would take 200 years to even up the series probably, not arguing that. But the series is still is 5-4 this decade with two games to go. Graham has never beaten Bluefield more than 3 times in any decade since the series was started in 1911. We all know the history. I guess the thought of Graham making a little history makes you sick to your stomach since you brought this up huh? Oh, and I know the overall series is now 59-20-2 in favor of Bluefield. Guess you have no argument now.......This was about a new era remember of equality, and when you are used to losing 8 games a decade to a team winning 4 or 5 is a big deal to us. And by the way, I was complimentary of your football team last night. Maybe you should take that into consideration next time before you decide you want to be an *******.

Nice win for the beavers, you guys were just better tonight. When you turn the ball over its hard to come away with a win.I think that Graham will win some games, more than they lose, and I think that Bluefield will have a great season if the line comes together for them. I continue to be really impressed with David Marrs, his composure for a sophomore is exceptional. He is going to be a good one. Will Cole had a pretty good game, and I'd like to wish him luck in taking the Beavers all the way to Wheeling. Overall a good game, and even though we didn't win I don't feel really bad about the loss. The mistakes we made tonight can be corrected. Our defense is pretty solid overall and I only expect them to get better.

[ QUOTE ] Just remember that you heard it first from Cornholio! I was hanging out in the RHS coaches office this afternoon and the scuttlebutt was that Coach Mance will be leaving at the end of the year to start a football program at a Virginia college (that will remain unnamed for now). When asked directly, he would neither confirm nor deny. Cornholio will stay on top of this story better than a National Enquirer reporter. [/ QUOTE ] Bluefield College?

Are there local stores in Bluefield selling high school t-shirts?

I'd like to get a shirt to wear to the game tomorrow since all the ones I have are too big now. Must be nice.......... -
[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] But no matter, the days of Graham winning 2 games a decade vs Bluefield is long gone. [/ QUOTE ] Say hello to 2 games a decade vs. Richlands.......:) Not likely, Richlands has had a run of great athletes, and like Graham's run in the early part of this decade it will end and Richlands will come back to the pack. More likely it will be even, which is great also.....But hey, at least we can both look forward to beating on Tazewell for years to come.lol ....couldn't resist..... [/ QUOTE ]

[ QUOTE ] I'll say it again...Graham's winning streak vs. Bluefield is ONE... [/ QUOTE ] I know you need to be politically correct here,BUT, the winning streak is years in a row, not games in a row. And for 96 years now we have not beat them for 3 years in a row. So if we win technically the Bluefield people will say it didn't happen, and the Graham people will. Isn't that what makes this rivalry is so great? We get one more thing to argue over. But who know what happens tomorrow night, Beaver may blow us off the field. But no matter, the days of Graham winning 2 games a decade vs Bluefield is long gone.

[ QUOTE ] but technically even they do win they still havent won 3 times in a row... [/ QUOTE ] But if they win, the real one, the one that counts, the first one they will have. History is not on our side. We have never beaten Bluefield more than 3 times in any decade. If they win this one, it will be 5 wins.

[ QUOTE ] Why are Bluefield and Graham people so friggin dead? Its 2 DAYS FROM BEAVER GRAHAM AND NOBODY IS TALKING CRAP????????????????????????????????????? [/ QUOTE ] I'd rather talk on Saturday, if we are fortunate enough to win....

With out further adieu here are the games. This time last year, the way Bluefield looked in the Champions Classic no one that went into Mitchell Stadium for last years game thought Graham would win, and win as big as they did. Anything can happen, don't count out the Beavers yet, its going to be another war. Just like it should be.

[ QUOTE ] yeah..he has a leg [/ QUOTE ] Speaking of legs, how is yours? Keep hittin that hole young man. You are going to have a big year.....

[ QUOTE ] I think you need to change the name of this site to the Graham Fans "hot air" message board. You guys surely live up to your reputation..... pompous. Look out Richlands, Carroll County, Tazewell, Abingdon, and Grundy.... you guys don't stand a chance against the mighty G-Men this year......... You guys have a propensity to see things one sided, even when those events don't even occur. I have to give the people of Richlands and Carroll County their props and my respect. We have played these teams the past three seasons, and their teams and FANS have shown us nothing but respect....... maybe you guys should take note, then you may get some respect shown in return. By the way, other than your MIGHTY football team, what has ever come out of Graham...... other than Bradshaw (don't make me even go there)? PS This doesn't go out to all Graham fans, just the select few on this board who think they can get their jollies by trashing other programs on this message board. [/ QUOTE ] And this is someone talking from the football powerhouse of Bassett talking.LOL. Dude, win something before you run your mouth, and your crappy little district doesn't count. You are talking to the big boys in the SWD, where there have been 8 state titles won by our teams. Have you guys even made it to a championship game? Didn't think so, now go away....
