  1. I was looking for some Prilosec myself after the game. The key is when you get knocked on your can to get up, dust your backside off and get back after it. All of us have a bad day, we're lucky enough not to do it on national TV.
  2. Either the Brawl or Fiddler on the Roof; we had the extremes in cultural offerings last night. As for me, I will always take the football game.
  3. As a Graham fan, I was disappointed in the crowd for the game. I know that there were several folks at other events in the community, but I would have liked to seen more folks out on Senior night and homecoming. The Carroll County crowd was very disappointing as well. I am glad they brought the pep band.
  4. Maybe a little Prilosec or Nexium will help with that throwing up in your mouth.
  5. I love UAB's quarterback. He is a beast. He throws a great ball too.
  6. Let's not worry about National Championships, conference championships, unbeaten seasons or any of that other stuff. Miami is all that matters. Take care of this week. Make sure you are loud and ready for Saturday night. This game is what College football is all about.
  7. I admit that I am a Graham fan, but I am looking forward to a great game. What more can you ask for; Friday night in November, crisp weather, homecoming, Senior night, and two good football teams. It should be a great night!
  8. I hope Ted does get the Braves back. There was never any doubt how he felt about the team. An anonymous corporation is just interested in their bottom line. If you don't believe it look at the chaos with the Cubs (Tribune Corp.), and LA (Fox) It is better to have ownership that is invested in the team and community.
  9. Well the shoe has fallen, and Fulmer has picked his sacrificial lamb. Randy Sanders has been the loyal soldier and fallen on his sword. Will this save Fulmer's job?
  10. My vote goes to Brookville (3-4) knocking off Amherst Co. (7-0) There are those in the Lynchburg area that having been touting Amherst as the class of Region III, Division 4. Brookville may not even make the playoffs.
  11. Considering that at one time it was the boy's high school in town, it makes sense. My favorite Louisville high school names are Manual and Pleasure Ridge Park.
  12. Having been around politicians for quite a few years, this is a prime example of throwing the dog a bone. I am glad to see that you see through the game. Stick to your guns. As Gman likes to say, change is coming.
  13. All I can say is you show a lot of class with this post. A tough game and well played. Best of luck the rest of the way.
  14. You have to give the man credit; he could have signed months ago and been set. Instead he wanted to make sure his staff was set too. That is an example of leadership.
  15. Thanks for the information. Is it true there is $121,000 in the bank to help pay for the fieldhouse? I am always amazed that so many elected officials forget that they owe their citizens old fashioned courtesy when they appear before them. The power seems to go to their heads and they forget the lesson they should have learned in Kindergarten: "treat others the way you want to be treated." Keep the pressure up.
  16. I hear that Mr. Davis did not give the group from Richlands a warm welcome last night when they came to ask about the fieldhouse. Can you let us know what happened?
  17. Any stats, I tried to listen on the radio, but could just not stomach those "wonderful" announcers.
  18. You could always auction the stuff off, or give it as Xmas gifts.
  19. Did the team from Hokietown qualify? Do we know the teams we will be seeing next weel?
  20. I have to agree, I have never seen an official pull his flag for Illegal Procedure and then wait to see how the play went before the flag was thrown. Usually when they only have six on the line, or a lineman leaves early, the flag is thrown immediately and not after the play is over.
  21. I have not met Dexter, but know his dad and think he is a great guy. I'm glad the fruit doesn't fall far from the tree.
  22. I know I have taken my share of 8's on #6; it sounds like he shot lights out. I am looking forward to state next week. Another chance to show the folks in the other regions some of what makes SWVA great.
  23. I am curious how the first round of the Regional Golf Tournament went. Did our local guys, G-Men and Tazewell, take advantage of their home course advantage?
