  1. That's how I feel. Pulaski at 1-9 is better than some teams that are in the playoffs right now-absolutely brutal schedule
  2. Got a good look at Wilson Memorial last night. If we show up ready,we'll play with them. Boys have to come out angry and play with pride
  3. Good luck Union. Here's hoping you all and those kids from Central make some noise next door to each other Saturday

  5. We were told we'd go 1-9 if not winless, and have been written off this Saturday at Wilson Memorial, but there's a reason that you play the games, and I told some of our kids that the whole solar system could write them off,but at the end of the day it would be them alone who decides whether they'll live to fight another day or not. I also shared the Jonesville story with them to show them that it has been done before.
  6. 9-1 Dogwood champs coming off a 23-20 win in William Campbell's house,so they're no slouch no doubt
  7. Central's ride will be a long one as well (259 miles-4hrs 18mins)
  8. Watching WARRIORS-Raiders tonight, but were I not I'd be there. My mom lives in Hillsville-bet she'll hear the rumblin' :)
  9. Taking so much abuse hearing about how badly the Central Warriors were going to lose to the Union Bears. Central was the "red-headed stepchild" of the new WC schools, and had heard from day 1 how terrible their football team was going to be,and that they'd not only lose but be humiliated by the Bears. Lots of critics were silenced after the Warriors handled the Bears. The shootout win over Lee was a blast as well-just a great show to watch
  10. LPD boys will be wide open. On the girls side-good luck dealing with Robin Dotson's Lady Warrior squad. They are going to be tough
  11. Laura Gipe and Jenna Stallard from Central (20-2 LPD Chaamps http://www.timesnews.net/article/9037772/swva-volleyball-central-union-in-lpd-finals

  13. I had touted Joe Burnopp earlier in another thread, and i'll stand by it (especially with this thread being about FBs). Tyler Barker from Union is a hoss as well
  14. He's had a solid season, although I felt sorry for him and his mates last Saturday in that "let's get a paycheck beatdown" in Spartanburg. Wofford nearly beat Clemson and could beat alot of D1s
  15. If you are a PH fan, find a movie to rent and a cup of hot chocolate. Here's hoping that classy coach Ingo does his thing and lets his backups get some PT. Mark Palmer will turn it around at PH in time, but he just has to survive this onslaught
  16. Good omen for the future. Congrats
  17. If we mention basketball, you'll never see a more fiery one than T.J. McAmis at JJK first now Central. He ticks alot of people off,but you have to admit he has passsion
  18. What's the chances that we'll see that in Scott County? I keep hearing that you all's school board is perhaps as big a clusterfrig as ours? Where would you put the SC school? There's a pretty fair distance between them. I'd like to see it happen though for the kids sake
  19. You hit the nail on the head amigo. I had no intention of bragging at all. Truth be told a BIG factor for me starting the thread was because of it being a win over Gate City. That's not a rub on the Blue Devils but a huge compliment. Anytime you get a win over kids from GC in football,it is no small feat because of the solidity of that football program (no matter the level) One of the things that we are noticing up at Central is that no longer are the kids from Wise or Pound intimidated by schools on the gridiron as in the past (another great thing about new school/new era/new identity). That was very obvious Friday night through the win over Union, and again last night vs GC with the JV kids. In years past,we'd see those PV/GC unis and we'd already be buffaloed before the kickoff. The psyche does have alot to do with wins and losses, and if you don't go into a game thinking that you are going to win, chances are you won't.
  20. The JV's defense at Central has been pretty stout all year (held Burton to 6 at Norton)
  21. according to the folks upstate,Virginia ends at Roanoke :)
