  1. The Super 7 and predictions 09/30/2011 1:35 AM Super 7 Team*********************************** Record 1. George Wythe (5)************ 4-0 2. Richlands************************ *5-0 3. J.I. Burton************************ 5-0 4. Union****************************** 3-1 5. Honaker************************* *5-0 6. John Battle***********************4-1 7. Rural Retreat****************** 4-1 (first-place votes in parenthesis) Others receiving votes: Gate City, Sullivan East The Predictions Marion at No. 1 George Wythe Last meeting: N/A George Wythe was off last week, giving the Maroons time to rest, recuperate and continue to work toward an unbeaten start. … The Maroons have speed to burn with guys like Nick Hagy, Isaac Baltazar, Jonathan Turpin, Shaquille Calfee and Isaac Young capable of making big plays. … Ethan Richardson (71 carries, 433 yards) and Marshall Wagner (75 carries, 290 yards) have provided plenty of offense for Marion. However, GW’s defense is pretty stout. … The Maroons have made things happen on both sides of the ball and should continue to roll tonight. Prediction: George Wythe 55, Marion 20 No. 2 Richlands at No. 5 Honaker Last meeting: Richlands 61, Honaker 22 (Sept. 3, 2010 in Richlands, Va.) The marquee matchup in Southwest Virginia will see these unbeatens square off. … Honaker is 5-0 and has been led by the duo of running back Jerrod Honaker (636 rushing yards) and quarterback Ty Hall (550 passing yards, nine touchdowns, two interceptions). … Richlands has a top quarterback-running back combo of its own in QB Reece Strong and workhorse Devon Johnson. Johnson finally appears to be back to full strength after being hampered by an ailing knee for the first few games. That’s bad news for opposing defenses. … Richlands has won 24 straight regular-season games. The streak should reach 25 tonight. Prediction: Richlands 48, Honaker 22 Eastside at No. 3 J.I. Burton Last meeting: First meeting Nobody has stopped J.I. Burton’s offense all season. The Raiders are averaging 47.2 points per game and nine different players have scored touchdowns for head coach Jim Adams’ club. … Riley Maggard leads the team with 13 touchdowns and forms a formidable backfield along with Malik Miles and Colby Dean. Dean, who doubles as a state champion wrestler, is averaging an eye-popping 16.6 yards per carry. … Eastside has lost three straight and the Spartans will not stop Burton from running wild once again. Prediction: J.I. Burton 50, Eastside 14 No. 4 Union at Clintwood Last meeting: First meeting This is one of the area’s most intriguing matchups. … Clintwood is 2-2, having lost big twice (to Hazard, Ky., and Grayson County) and having won big twice (over Haysi and Lebanon). It’s hard to tell how good the Greenwave is, but tonight will provide the litmus test. … Union is 3-1 and battle-tested. Three of the team’s four games have been decided by five or fewer points. … Clintwood has a strong defensive front, so Union quarterback Jake Huff will have to get things going through the air. Union has rushed the ball 148 times this season, while only passing it 51 times. The Bears will have to be more balanced if they hope to earn the win. … A new Lonesome Pine District rivalry will be born tonight in Dickenson County and this game should provide a good opening act. Prediction: Union 28, Clintwood 20 No. 6 John Battle at Abingdon Last meeting: Abingdon 49, John Battle 13 (Oct. 1, 2010 in Abingdon, Va.) It will be homecoming tonight at Falcon Stadium and Abingdon needs a statement win. … Last week, the Falcons were limited to 131 yards against Happy Valley but nearly pulled off a late score. … AHS is averaging just 17 ppg., including a 51-point effort against Patrick Henry. … Junior kicker Mitchell Ludwig is a threat for AHS. He hit four field goals last season and barely missed a 50-yarder at Chilhowie two weeks ago. … The John Battle offense sputtered at times last week at PH, but the Trojans were sparked by the return of junior receiver Brent Tipton. … Behind the play of junior Brandon Balthis and big sophomore Matthew Chapman, the Battle defense allows just 15 ppg., and has given up more than seven points only once. …The Falcons rolled up 417 total yards against Battle last season, as Zac Crosswhite rushed for 145 yards and three scores and Widner caught two TD passes. Blackburn led Battle with 211 yards passing. Prediction: John Battle 14, Abingdon 7
  2. I test drove the Camaro just to drive it honestly. I don't plan on buying it, though it would be nice. I just don't have the money right now. The Soul, however, is very much in my price range. I checked insurance on several different cars yesterday and the Camaro was actually the cheapest. It really surprised me. Something about the Soul not meeting Geicos safety standards. I just got off the phone with Cole Kia. After they put a new windshield in my car today I'm going up there to look at it and such.
  3. He would have to pay me to take it. It has no AC. No radio. It's beat all to hell. I wouldn't take it if it was free. Lol
  4. Agreed. And I think LBJ is the main reason why the league was on an up.
  5. I'm not trying to sound arrogant, btw. But if all else fails in the winter, I have my grandfathers old Ford Bronco II. That thing will climb a tree.
  6. I'm not worried about getting to work in it. I've made it for 2 winters in my mustang with bald tires in snow. Its the payment that is making me hesitant.
  7. I know. I'm trying to be reasonable. Still hard to choose. Lol
  8. My thing is that if I'm going to fork out some money for a vehicle, I want a vehicle that I won't regret paying for. So I want something that I actually want. Im not afraid of the drive, Ive did it for over a year. Just want to check gas milage and such.
  9. Union in a close one. Union has the "big game" experience. And late in games, that can be the difference.
  10. Test drove a 2011 Camaro this morning. Fell in love. Lol. Gonna go check out the Soul tomorrow and then decide what I want. I'd like to bring the Camaro home for a few days to see how it will do with gas to and from my work. But I guess I'll see what they say tomorrow.
  11. Ahahahahaha!!! I can't believe noone has said anything about this comment yet!!!!
  12. Im not really dead set on anything. Behind the Soul, my next pick would be a new Challenger or Mustang or Camaro. Dunno which I would like better. I'd be willing to pay a little more just to have the sports car. Since thats what I drive now, and what Im most comfortable in.
  13. Thanks for the info!!!! I never would have know otherwise lol.
  14. Nope. Here is the ad. http://www.colekia.com/new-specials/ It says 2012 Base models. So idk. I'm gonna go look at em on Friday.
  15. John Battle Martinsville George Wythe Lebanon Gate City J.I. Burton Castlewood Virginia High Union Rye Cove Thomas Walker Phelps, KY Lee High Princeton, WV #3 Alabama Tennessee #14 Texas A&M Virginia #23 West Virginia #11 Virginia Tech #7 Wisconsin Philly Houston Detroit Washington Baltimore Game of the Week: Richlands 63
  16. Hahaha. Im on Duncans website now looking around at their pre-owned stuff. Im not 100% set on a Soul. I do still love my Mustang, so a newer Mustang would make me happy as well. Lol
  17. Pretty sure an Audi is a little over my head price wise. I only bring home around 1200 a month.
  18. Heres another questoin. BigBlue, you may be able to answer this one. If I can't find a Soul that has the accessories that I want, can they order one? And how much would that cost do you guys think??
  19. I've been looking around and Cole has the best deal that I've seen so far. But I'm gonna go Friday before the ball game to Bristol and see what they say. Maybe test drive one. I love the fact that there are lots of accesories that can be done with the car. I just dont find Scions that attractive to me. Just my personal preferance though lol. Exactly. If I'm buying a brand new car, I'm keeping it for a while. I talked to Geico today about getting insurance through them since that's what Mom has. They seem to say they will give me some discounts because I've been on Moms plan. Wanna come with me??? lol
  20. Also, scratch the Richmond, Martinsville, and Charlotte race weekends. Too much distraction. And they are not to play at Grundy or Carroll. Lights are far too dim for their standards.
  21. My car KBBs for 1850. Cole Kia is running a thing right now where they have the new Kia Soul that I want for 13,999. Im on my moms insurance currently though. And I have extremely limited credit. So the dealer is probably the only place that will fianance it for me.
  22. Did you PM yourself asking for your address?? lmao
