Hurley played a team that was 5-0 and 2A and won PH played a team that was winless and 1A. Hurley got more points because of the wins and the higher classification.
PH, Grundy and Hurley have had an easy schedule so far. Hurley would be undefeated with that schedule as well as PH would be undefeated with Hurleys schedule as well. With that being said congratulations to those teams for being undefeated at this point. They are dealing with the hand they are dealt. If they are not solid teams it will show in the playoffs.
Grundy and Hurley's field conditions are solely on upkeep. Plenty of other schools in the area that get as much if not more use out of their fields and don't look as bad as Nelson Memorial and The Cliff at seasons end.
Plenty of other schools also don't have a field built into the side of a cliff where very little sunlight is on that field. Grundy also doesn't receive alot of sunlight on their field. Makes it hard to keep the field nice no matter the upkeep.
Coach Harner is a good coach. What Coach Dixon has done at Galax puts him above though. He took a team that hadn't won alot and made them into a state contender every year. GW has the kids to be state contenders every year.
You can't just say spread offense if a team is in shotgun. There are different types of spread air raid, zone read, run and shoot etc. All have different concepts and elements to the scheme.
I think to be successful you have to be allowed to bring an assistant or two but with budgets they way they are you don't have the open jobs to do that. It is hard to win with someone else that may not share the same philosophy. Also how much longer is Eastside going to be open I have heard 5 years tops

Grundy has a weak schedule other than Richlands and Hurley the rest of the teams are weak.
