  1. Anyone know anything about C-ville? What they do best and tough matchups for the Beavers, ect.
  2. Any idea what he would charge and the best way to get in touch with him? Contact the school?
  3. I guess Keyshaw was "Just give me the damn ball!"
  4. [ QUOTE ] After the season you might want to try asking Coach Simon if he would be willing to sell you an old game helmet. [/ QUOTE ] Is this something he has done in the past?
  5. [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] I think against Clemson we did [/ QUOTE ] White jerseys with maroon pants. [/ QUOTE ] No we wore all white that game because they wore all purple. [/ QUOTE ] You're right...I have the picture of Royal's punt return as the background on my computer here at work. Also, you'll have to forgive a "faulty memory" at the time of me watching the game...too much "celebration" at my cousin's wedding reception during the game...trust me, I took full advantage of my uncle's "hospitality"...wink, wink, nudge, nudge, say no more... [/ QUOTE ] Is that the same picture that shows the kicker holding the lead blocker? Harper I think it was he was holding.
  6. I know you can by the mini helmets around Bluefield for most area teams, but does anyone know if there are full size Bluefield helments that can be purchased and where from? I'd like to have one to display in a spare bedroom in my house with my other sports collectables.
  7. My brother said a few weeks ago that after one of the WVU games, there was some discussion that after she did an interview with White on the field and the camera went off that several people witnessed her kiss him. Not sure if it was a cheek or lip lock. I was just wondering if anyone else had heard this. He said he heard it on the state wide sports line with Tony "pompus ass" Caridi and bunch. FYI she was a member of the University of Florida dance team in the 90's.
  8. [ QUOTE ] I hear Billy Wyatt is out at Northwood. Somebody can get a good offensive minded coach there. He will be a good one for someone to pick up. [/ QUOTE ] Someone call Beamer QUICKLY!!!!
  9. Did Erin Andrews kiss Pat White after a WVU game earlier this year?
  10. I'm still trying to figure out why in the hell Brian Brohm was throwing into double and triple coverage all night. I think I even saw a couple of throws into quadruple coverage screaming to get picked off. The turnovers canceled each other out but it was just a sloppy game and WVU getting flagged for all those penalties was piss poor coaching by Rich Rod. That win sure won't help their BCS cause that much.
  11. Mandel is an assclown. Instead of giving his bowl game predictions, he should stick to what he was good at like blowing up rubber gloves on his head and asking "Deal or no deal!?" Oh wait.......sorry.......wrong Mandel!
  12. I can't believe Kentucky lost last night to Garder Webb!! Unreal!! What the hell is the world coming to!?
  13. From what I remember Jack was just watching it like it was a punt. Musselman fell on it at the 4 yard line. They couldn't pick it up and score, but they did score two plays later. Yubrenal was the kickoff returner on the other side of the field and he saw what was going on and was sprinting over to try and cover it, but he couldn't get there fast enough. I don't think Jack had played football before that year, so he didn't know everything to do and that was a hude mistake. He was a junior that year. Needless to say, it was painfull to watch. Musselman was a very good team that year and played a lot of teams from Maryland. Southern, MD is one that comes to mind and they smack WV teams on a yearly basis. Musselman was battle tested going into the playoffs that year as a 16 seed.
  14. [ QUOTE ] Go figure from a chokie fan! How would you know what happens on that little game if you don't yourself. LOL.....How many do they have in choksterville? Zero zip zilch. I know we don't have any either. I know that if we play this year......VT loses....end of discussion. The conversation was about that.....because of the fact you don't like my responses......you want to say you embarrass this or that or go play a videogame. That is what typical little girls might say. [/ QUOTE ] Hey, I think I hear your mommy calling for you. She says it's time to start getting cleaned up before dinner. After dinner, you need to get started on your homework. There will be no TV or computer until all the homework is done, she says
  15. Weak OOC eh?? LSU???? where were they (or close to an equal team) on WVU's schedule??? hmmmm?????? Rutgers is WVU's best win is what I gather you are saying, right?? Didn't Rutgers lose to Maryland??? Wait.....what conference is Maryland in?? OMG the ACC!!! Like that rating of WVU's schedule 88th? You seen that yet? USF can't beat anyone right now and UCONN has been lucky (I'm calling for a fair catch!) Pitt is a joke and I'm not even going to talk about Syracuse or Loserviller. Cinnci and WVU are all the conference has right now. maybe UCONN. I do not see where the Big Least is better or worse then the ACC. Take a good look at your own conference before you bash others. BTW, if The Big East has been bitten by the SEC bug, then how come when the SEC beat each other they are still in the top 15 but the Big East teams beat each other they drop out of the top 35 all together.
  16. I was there at it. The opening kickoff that Jack Wright didn't cover made "Spanning the World" on the Today show several weeks later. The Applemen had D. Marriott on that team who went on to Marshall University glory I believe.
  17. [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] alright i will stop, I wish the rivalry was continued though provided great trash talking yearly for these teams. It was a shame the series had to end. I am hoping tech makes it to orange bowl...and wvu wins out...However if Ohio state wins out..rose gets first pick and says they are going to take wvu if available....personally I would like to go to orange and take on the hokies. [/ QUOTE ] It is doubtful at best that the Rose Bowl would take West Virginia with its first choice. I give a few reasons. First, you are assuming that West Virginia wins out. It's likely, but you fail to recognize that West Virginia still has to play a good Cincinnati team in Cincinnati, and a solid Connecticut team in Morgantown for the Big East title. You've said over and over that these teams aren't that good. Well, I could say that the New England Patriots stink until I'm blue in the face, but that doesn't change the fact that they are incredibly good. Cincinnati and Connecticut are solid teams; Connecticut has one loss by one point on the season, and Cincinnati handled South Florida, who just by chance handled West Virginia. It's not automatic. Second, for argument's sake, let's assume Ohio State and LSU win out. Oregon has the Pac-10 spot wrapped up. The Big XII presents a problem here. You have three teams with one loss or less: Kansas, Missouri, and Oklahoma. Kansas and Missouri play each other. Three scenarios arise that present problems for West Virginia. One, and the most problematic, if Kansas wins, and then Oklahoma wins in the Big XII title game, you have a one-loss Kansas team who has enough heft on the schedule to edge out West Virginia. Two, if Kansas or Missouri wins in the Big XII title game, you have a solid, two-loss Oklahoma team who has played a tough schedule, and could perhaps win the nod over West Virginia (see LSU last year). Three, if Missouri, a solid team with a very good quarterback in Chase Daniel and favorable national exposure, beats Kansas and loses against Oklahoma, this team has two losses and might take precedence over West Virginia. Third, if Hawaii wins out, with games against Boise State and Washington still to go on the schedule, the Warriors may just crack the top 12 in the BCS, and would be forced into one of the Big Four. The obvious solution? Send them to Pasadena, which is nearest to Hawaii, so the fans could travel much easier and so there is regional interest in the game, by associating Hawaii with the west coast. Fourth, the Orange Bowl has an affinity for taking Big East teams, so much so that many refer to the Orange Bowl as receiving the Big East's champion. The bowls themselves will talk amongst each other; it would be nonsense to say that the bowls would not keep correspondence with each other regarding potential bids extended. Therefore, the Rose Bowl would likely take a team from a more solid conference, and would likely keep West Virginia back east. Saying that the Rose Bowl would definitely take WVU is far too general a statement, with little to back it up. I honestly don't see it. [/ QUOTE ] If ohio state wins out and wvu wins out and no upsets are had...I am 99.1 % sure rose bowl take wvu with first pick setting up Oregon vs WVU matchup...If hawaii wins out ( fan base is terrible they will wind up in sugar bowl...However I really want the ACC Champion in the Orange bowl preferably VT [/ QUOTE ] Hahahaha.............I'll have some of what he is smoking! Why would the Rose take WVU with the first pick? Please provide me some info to back this prediction up.
  18. The Bluefield - Roane Co. game could be worst then the Bluefield - Ritchie Co. '96 game.
  19. Bluefield - Poca in 2003 was 1 -2 as well Check out this site for all playoff results in WV: http://home.sunlitsurf.com/~woodman/aafootball.htm
  20. I had asked someone who knows Tonya and she didn't know anything about Tonya going to the high school level. I was curious as to what was going on with the assistants being hired.
  21. Is this official and these people have been hired as the assistants for Bluefield?
  22. He was the man! It was his Freshman year when I graduated I think. I had heard "Becca" retired. She did a great job with the newspaper and the students really liked putting it together with her. At least I know they did when I was there.
  23. [ QUOTE ] they aleady have. They're now letting each Region decide if they want more teams in. Only 3 of the 16 decided to expand back in the Spring - maybe more will for the 2009-11 cycle. If you look around, you'll see Region 3 has went to 6 teams and their 1st round is this week. Most of far SW VA has a bye this week, but we start earlier than the rest of the state because of the snow days. [/ QUOTE ] I'm guessing the main reason for this expansion was because of 9-1 teams not winning the district and getting left out all together on points rankings, correct? Then if there are only three or four good teams that get the bids, then they will have to let in two more teams and they could be 3-7 or 4-6 teams, correct?
  24. I thought they did a pretty good job with it when they started it up back in the mid 90's when I was there. I can still remember watching highlights in class of the basketball games during that '94-'95 season. Showed us storming the court after beating Woodrow and Gene Nabors trying to get out of the way! Guess they need Billy back to head it up! LOL
  25. I was listening to Greg Roberts on my way home Friday and every Friday he has Mike Stevens on to talk about area match ups for that night and I only caught the tailend of the segment. They were finishing up talking about how crazy if would be for VHSL to propose a change to the playoffs in the near future. I didn't hear it all and I was wondering what was going on. Are they trying to expand the Virginia playoffs or something?
