But to answer you Mr.Dotson If Waynick get's football ready this week and works on his timing and routes with Cooper he's going to be hard to defend. If Ole Church and BD get that line to click ( I'd put them on the raw meat and gun powder diet) Bergelow or any other back that lines up for Hurley is going to run like a raped ape all year. Hurley has some seniors but overall this is a young team and if they dont read much into all the stuff wrote about them and play hungry there gonna do some good things. Grundy has some good younguns on that football team and they'll play like they'll never play another down simply because it's HURLEY vs GRUNDY..So as "TO" said "Get your Popcorn Ready" because I bet this ones going to be a slobber knocker.

Hurley's has some big ole younguns this year and I'd say BD and Church will have them in pretty good shape for when it counts. Daniel Ellis is a good RB Lance and a heck of a good kid I truly look for him to have a good year .

WV usually prepared better for this game and historically has faired better. David Jones actually got the Ky kids together for this one bringing in a lot of kids that will be at UPike this year. Ky and Coach Jones put in the work and got the results they should have got a big W. David is on the UPike coaching staff now also.

Lance, they had one Big Ole Youngun #64 last year you guys can correct me if I'm wrong was just a freshman . I thought he definitley showed some talent and if he was just a freshman this youngun is gonna be a a beast like no other they've had on the line after Church and Co. get done with him. I know they got some holes to feel but I think they have a coaching staff that can get the most out of what they got. I'm glad my work schedule is more flexible I'll get to see them play a lot more this year.Good luck!

Coach Church is a guy that makes a kid reach down and find " a little more" he has a wealth of knowledge and any kid that lines up and plays with his 'hand on the ground" is going to benifit from him being there. He's first class and fit's in well with BD and Greg. I told BD a couple years ago it sure be nice to see Anthony over here and now he is..I'm like you John I hope he's here to stay.

I wish Jeremy and Scotty luck the guy's love football and to me seems to really like being around the kids. My kid played at Grundy and Hurley and people of both communities need to know that it takes a lot time and effort for these Coaches to have any success because there just isn't that deep well of kids to draw from. When your passionate about the game it's easy to get mad and it's always a reff or a coach that anger seems to be leveld at and I'll admit I've been the worst at that at times I imagine. I love the game and the kids on both side of the mountain and I hope they all do well. Coach Plymal turned my kid into a beast in the weight room and is a hell of a good guy, Coach Compton is old school and has forgot more football than most will ever know and I respect the hell out of him. A lot of people may not agree and a lot have wanted a change but as the old Chinese proverb goes "Careful what you wish for you may just get it" well you got it and only time will tell. My hats off to all the Coaches in the County for the time and effort they put in, it's a thankless job that doesen't pay enough for the crap they have to deal with from over zealous fans and parents that being said you know they love the game and the kids to deal with all of that and keep on going.

Worst I ever encounterd in my life and I've seen a lot of football in my 51 years was when I went to Big Creek WV a few years ago. They put us on the home side of he field and I had to watch a bunch of Red Necks heckle are kids and throw stuff from the stands. Then had to have a police escort to get the kids off the field. That definitly was a "Come on Man " moment.

I guess it's true no good deed goes unpunished.

Im not attacking your opinion and I agree with you Rockhouse isnt safe in the winter time especially if there at school and it snows. Im saying politics will move schools together when the money says they have too..Hope they never do but when and if coal severance money runs out or is drasaticaly reduced will see things none of us want to see.

The tax base is what will decide whether there is any more consolidation in Buchanan County. I wouldn't want to see Hurley lose there High School either but if one of the big 3 coal companys ( example: Console)where to fold I'd say unless us regular Joe's could stand the tax increase it will happen eventualy. It's all about the money and everybody has there opinion but when it comes time to pay to back your opinion opinions will change.

Hurley represented well and I was sure glad to see Todd Hurley get 1st Team offensive Line, this kid has been the most underated but one of THE BEST offensive lineman I've seen play and I'm not alone in that thinking. Congratulations,Cody,Reed,Zack,Regal,Austin and Waynick and John and Cole.. 8 players on the Region D pretty dang impressive.

Hubbard must not think he can compete ....I wouldnt call it conflicting dates on his part I'd say he's ducking Grundy. If it walks like a duck,quacks like a duck etc etc etc..
