  1. The last time Tazewell football able to handle area opponents was when the Kitts brothers were QB's.
  2. Glad to see the Dawgs finally won a game. Keep those wins rolling.
  3. One reason I left SW VA in 1957 and have only returned occasionally is because of the trash people dump everywhere. They always talk about people in the Appalachian region having so much pride. If they did, they would be more concerned with their surroundings, which they pollute and destroy the spectacular scenic beauty of the area. I was hoping that things would change in the 60 years since I departed the area, but the only substantial change seems to be the current drug use, more poverty, and crime. It is so sad and I become depressed every time I visit. Sad, but true. Maybe it will change at some point in this century.
  4. Richlands 24, Tazewell 0. When will the Bulldogs defeat the Tornado? Same story year after year.
  5. When will Tazewell field a viable team to challenge for a championship? They are synonymous with the Cleveland Browns.
  6. The only rooster crowing is continuous advertising on this station.
  7. Is this game being streamed on the web? If so, could someone supply the site? I live in SC and would like to listen to this game.
  8. Come on Bulldogs, surprise me for once. Beat the G-Men.
  9. Had to chuckle at the 'places to eat' comments. Sounds like really backwoods to me.(BTW I was reared in Tazewell).
  10. I assume your post indicates that the Bulldogs lost.........again.
  11. Good teams don't allow bad officiating to beat them. It is the coaching staff's responsibility to guide these young men through such adversity and instill a winning attitude. I realize the difficulty of coaching young people as I have coached them, but if your team is skilled enough, bad officiating shouldn't affect them. I agree one bad call can lose or win the game for a team, but good teams must play though this. Maybe Marion had something to do with the loss. Better luck next year, Dawgs.
  12. Each week I log onto the forum hoping to see some positive results about the Dawgs, only to find the weekly loss. What is wrong with this program? Geographics aren't much different between Richlands and Tazewell, yet Tazewell cannot match the success of Richlands. It has been that way since I graduated from THS in 1955. Why?
  13. In view of Tazewell's record over the years, maybe they need to be assigned to a lower bracket. It seems every year is a 'rebuilding year'.
  14. Hope he doesn't become another Drew Henson, chasing money over an education. Was hoping he would join the Gamecocks. Thanks for the info.
  15. What is the status of this player? I live in SC and was curious if he is still destined to attend SC. I notice he isn't on their roster and not listed as an incoming recruit.
  16. It is obvious that Tazewell had a abysmal season. I do not live in the area, so what are the feelings that the program can recover next year? From what I can gleen from other posters, there appears to be some internal problems within the team. Any thoughts?
  17. Thanks. I hope they get it together soon. As a 1955 THS grad, I don't have too much time to see them do well.
  18. There must have been a typo. I thought the new coach promised that this team was going to get better. What is the problem with Tazewell football (serious question)?
  19. From what I glean from the BDT article, the Richlands coach appears to be holding the officials responsible for the loss. Just maybe their opponent was a more disciplined team, consequently a win.
  20. I have been frustrated that Richlands has always had a better team than Tazewell, even in the 1950's when I attended THS. Maybe Tazewell should enroll some spies at Richlands to determine what they are doing that Tazewell obviously isn't. How many of the freshmen that enter the football program are eventual dropouts? It appears that there is a problem with the school administration. Parents cannot interfere with a sports program unless someone in the school administration sanctions it. I suppose Tazewell is performing a service for others; giving their coaches experience to coach a winning team elsewhere. Maybe the intrusive parents should take a look at themselves as a part of the problem.
  21. A G-man fan shouldn't be denigrating the Dawgs after the pounding the G-Men encountered by Beaver last week. Humble Pie is in order.
  22. Yes, congratulations. Maybe you guys could mentor Tazewell on the art of winning at football. THS '55.
  23. I graduated from THS in 1955, and it seemed that Richlands always won when I followed local football. Unfortunately, now it appears that Richlands and Graham dominate the Dawgs.
  24. Maybe the Dawgs will learn to play football in this century. I'm tied of waiting for them to do something. THS '55.
