  6. Bob Gray resigns... Patrick Henry HS football coach Bob Gray resigns after 1-9 season Bob Gray says the program has made progress in many areas off the field during his tenure. By Robert Anderson Patrick Henry football coach Bob Gray has resigned after four seasons in charge of the Patriots' program. PH posted a 10-30 won-lost record during Gray's tenure, including a 1-9 mark in 2008. Gray said Monday that PH's results on the field were not indicative of the progress the program has made in other areas. Gray pointed to increased participation by young players in Patrick Henry's feeder programs and a number of former PH players in the college ranks as high points. "Our numbers have gone up and our discipline problems have gone down," Gray said. "The goals set forth to me when I was hired, I think we accomplished. "Football is a numbers game. It's still a work in progress. I think we had the program going in the right direction. I take credit for what we've done wrong. It kills me every time we lose, because I know how hard our kids work." Gray previously served as the head coach at Fieldale-Collinsville from 1984-87 and at Staunton River from 1994-2001. He was named The Associated Press Group AA coach of the year in 1996 after taking Staunton River to a first-round playoff win in the only Region III postseason berth in school history. Gray, who said he plans to remain a physical education teacher at PH, replaced Doug Ross as the Patriots coach in 2005. Ross posted a 3-17 record in two seasons, the first when he was the Patriots' interim coach. When Gray was hired by PH after three years as an assistant coach at William Fleming, he became the Patriots' fourth different head coach in five seasons. Patrick Henry has not had a winning football season or reached the Northwest Region playoffs since 2000. Gray's first season as PH's head coach was the final year of football in Victory Stadium when part of the facility was condemned and cordoned off by a chain-link fence in the bleachers. In 2006 PH moved three home games to Franklin County and three more to the fields of its respective opponents. Patrick Henry's on-campus facility -- Patriots Stadium -- opened in 2007. PH has shared its stadium with William Fleming, forcing both teams to play several home games on Saturday afternoons. Gray said an incoming coach should have the tools to succeed. "We've got the best facilities in the state," Gray said. "It's a great school to work in. I don't want to do anything that's not positive for Patrick Henry. I'm very proud of my time at Patrick Henry. I hope Patrick Henry is very successful." Roanoke Schools deputy superintendent Curt Baker said in a news release that PH hopes to have a new head coach in place by the end of February.
  7. Here you go compliments CMD board and Beamerball
  8. 35 - 7 Gretna 4:23 to play 3rd Quarter
  9. 28-7 Gretna just picked off Floyd Co. and is in great field position 3rd Quarter - 5:44
  10. 2002 Liberty Beat Gretna in 2 or 3 OT's, they were double A, Div. 3 2003 Gretna won it all AA , Div.3 2004 Gretna won it all again AA, Div.3 Your right, I meant AA...they were dropping to Single A the next year 2005 and that was another reason Senseney left for AAA Div. 5 North Stafford. He thought he was too good for Single A. The guy is very cocky and very arrogant.
  11. This guy leaves everwhere he's has been. He left Gretna which was a mistake and took the North Stafford job. 1 year and gone, said the cost of living was too high! Should have known that before he left Gretna for the Fredrickburg area. Goes to William Fleming and wants out already after 3 years? RIDICULOUS! I wouldnt say he is a spread guru, I mean if any coach had VIC HALL they would have won in the Single A ranks with the athletes they have at Gretna. Vic could run one way and stop on a dime and throw the ball 50 yards back across the entire field. He was unstopable. Had they not lost to Liberty in something like 3OT's his sophmore year they would have won the Div. 3 Title his sophmore year.
  12. 27-0 Brookville mid 2nd Quarter...SHEW!
  13. Start the bus and come on home...Lord have mercy! WOW!
  14. I knew this but but they werent when Cedric was there...not important anyway. WC could compete in the Seminole year in and year out simply due to their Athletes.
  15. REGION D votes to play there...Gate City would rather play the game at home. I don't understand the logic myself...seems to me that if a team played all year and got the #1 seed...WHY WOULD YOU NOT WANT TO PLAY ON YOUR FIELD!? Dumbest thing I've seen...just my 2 cents and that isn't worth much. Regardless of who the #1 seed was...I would think they would want to play at home if given the opportunity.
  16. William Campbell is not a Seminole District team and were not when Cedric was there, they are from the DOGWOOD District.
  17. One of the dumbest statements I've read in a while Seminole District would clean up most if not all teams in the area even the weaker teasm in the Seminole would clean up. It is one of, if not the toughest district in the State.
  18. Their Uncle Edd Clark, the "Stonega Stallion" was probably better than both of them. He would get my pick as the best back to come out of SWVA from Appalachia before I picked either Thomas or Julius.
  19. Want...did you mean will not or won't? Blowed...maybe blew? LOL
  20. OH well its not working here...enjoy fellas! Ridiculous
  21. My Media player comes up right away then pauses and says: "Windows Media Player cannot find the file. If you are trying to play, burn, or sync an item that is in your library, the item might point to a file that has been moved, renamed, or deleted." WHATA HECK! STUPID! I've tried all the links...
