  1. Honaker blocks PH punt and starts on PH 20 Lowe with 1 carry for 19 yrds to 1 yd Lowe carries in for TD Lowe makes 2 point conversion PH 22 Tigers 30 4:50 3Q
  2. Musick to Bandy 55 yd TD pass 2 point conversion no good PH 22 Tigers 22 6:47 3Q
  3. Tigers have got to show their dominance in this opening drive in 2nd half. They have to establish their defense and not let PH score in this 1st possession of the 2nd half. Put a spy on the QB to shut down his runs.
  4. I hope Tigers come out in the 2nd half settled down. PH is a good team...Goodspeed isn't their only weapon. I think the Tigers in the 1st half had all their "eggs in one basket" labeled Goodspeed. Even though he is their catalyst and playmaker, it's evident PH isn't as one dimensional as I thought. That speaks to good coaching on PH part, paint a different picture then what's been hanging on the wall.
  5. with 3.4 sec in 2Q Tigers Bandy scores TD on pass from Musick PH 22 Tiger 16
  6. PH 22 Tigers 8 .28 sec 2Q PH coach has a good game plan against the Tigers. Not a passing team, but they scored last TD on a pass.
  7. Being a 10-0 team in a high-stakes game is causing the Tigers to "shoot themselves in the foot". They need to settle down and hope these mishaps doesn't cause them to go down by 2 scores before the half.
  8. Honaker just got a gift with penalty flag not thrown. Held PH to 4 downs after the muffed punt PH recovered.
  9. After 1 Q PH 8 Tigers 8 You can tell Tigers QB is hyped for the game.
  10. PH 8 Tigers 8 1:43 1Q Goodspeed has great vision and cuts. He reminds me so much of Caleb Jennings in size and moves.
  11. LET'S GO DAWGS!!!!! Seal the edges on D, pin the Bears back deep on their side of the field with punts. Sure hands, quick feet, fill the gaps, eagle eyes when their QB is airing it out.

  13. Honaker, Patrick Henry meet again with Region title in sight | WCYB
  14. I think Honaker has the edge in this one. Homefield advantage... They are a dual threat with running and passing game. Limit Goodspeed and win favors Honaker Here are stats from Bristol Herald on PH vs Grundy game: PH scored in 7 of their 8 possessions vs Grundy Goodspeed finished with 223 yards on 23 carries. He had 5 TD runs of 1, 12, 26, 22 and 20 yards against Grundy with 42 carries for 403 yards. Passing yards for PH were 32 yards. 1 completion, 2 attempts, no INT. They had zero punts for the game. In PH's previous game with Honaker, Goodspeed finished with 276 yards on 41 carries. 1st downs- Hon 16; PH 17 Rushing yards Honaker had 159 yards on 27 carries Rushing yards for PH were 341 yards on 52 carries. Passing yards Honaker had 173 yards on 15-24 attempts Passing yards for PH were zero with 1 attempt Penalties for both teams were 3-20 yards. Honaker and PH both had 2 punts each for game
  15. I am happy for the Dawgs. Surprising, but awesome game. Gives them momentum for next week against the Bears. I am thinking of TJ, #11. How appropriate this playoff game in a decisive win, being played on 11-11. Happy day...Dawgs win, Hokies win, Clemson wins and seal it with a win by the Georgia Bulldogs tonight. GO DAWGS!!!!
  16. I watched him and his brother Mark play for the Blues. Still wouldn't change my opinion on squib kicks.
  17. Running clock? Didn't think this could be in the realm of this game.
  18. I have never, never been a proponent of squib kicks. Why give your opposition good field advantage. Make them earn every yard on their own!!
  19. UVAO is high octane for sure with his announcing. Each play he's adjudicating a summation to the jury. He is certain in what he sees, presents the evidence with passion and doesn't let public opinion sway him. His analyst, is an even keel guy, knowledgeable, knowing the game inside and out, as well as each player. He's not looking at a roster to identify the players involved in the play. He is the oil to Observer's vinegar, which doesn't mix when together, but in this case, it does.
  20. The sad part this time of year, the team can be impacted by injuries and not be able to bring their best efforts to the field during the playoffs. It is disheartening for the boys and fans, especially the seniors. I hope tomorrow's game will be played injury free for the following week's game. GO DOGS!!!
  21. Thankful the Tigers took auto-pilot off after the 1st half and started their engines.
  22. My final posting for the night. Watched Giles/Grayson tonight, Lord willing, RR/Honaker tomorrow night, and Lord willing the Ridgeview/Tazewell game Saturday afternoon. Always, cheering for the Dawgs to win EXCEPT when playing the Blues. I hope the Dawgs are healthy as well as Creasy. He's the bus that makes the wheels go round and round. Don't think it will be an easy out, but I feel the Dawgs, if healthy, have the skill set to walk away with the win.
  23. I watched the Tigers on CW when they played Patrick Henry in the monsoon at Glade. Their only game I've seen this year. Don't know how the game with RR played out being a one touchdown win. I think the Tigers are stout on offense. Watching their defense against PH, up the middle they held well, but the perimeter, with credit to PH's speedy RB, gave them problems. The rain could have played a role in that. I will be watching the Tigers tomorrow night and hoping their play is strong on both sides of the ball and they win. Many games I watched at Fuller Field and cheered for the Tigers. Was in Salem cheering for them when they played for the State Championship. Since my Lions won't be roaring tomorrow night, will be watching the Tigers roar.
  24. I watched the Giles/Grayson game. First time seeing both teams this year and thought Grayson would have a more dominant game with their record. Giles had their opportunities, but couldn't capitalize. Grayson's strength appears to be the running game. They aren't locked and loaded with their passing game, that I saw. Seeing one game doesn't tell the story though. Coach Williams didn't come away with the win, but the Spartans had a respectable showing tonight.
