IM not even sure a job would help this kid. Lets see $250 a week tax free. Thats about to the take home pay from a job making what about $18000 a year. And figure in the fact that he is not paying for a place to live, nor a car payment which is where a big chunk of money goes for most families, I dont thing he could make it on $40000 a year. We had several American Service Men lose their lives today. That pisses me off bad enough, then our President comes out to address the nation, and instead of being somber and sympathetic, he is giving a friggin shout out to someone at a scheduled meet and greet to some group at the White House. Ok, to the best of my figuring on a sleepy Saturday morning this is what must happen for Princeton to make the playoffs. I believe that the top 13 from last week, a long with Parkersburg South and Parkersburg have now locked Princeton out. Their only hope now is to finish 16th and ALL the following must happen. #15 Riverside must lose to #3 South Charleston next week. #15 RCB must lose to #12 Lewis County today and Bluefield next week. #18 Cabell Midland must lose to South Charleston today and then beat Hurricane next week. And of course they must beat Woodrow themselves next week. We will know after today if they are still alive. Sadly it doesnt look good at this point but possible.

GMAN correct me if I am wrong on any of this. I was bored and my son wanted to know if they were going to get in so I did some math. Princeton is 4-4 and has a rating of 6.75 which gives them 54 points. If they beat Huntington and Woodrow Wilson the next two weeks that will give them 80 points. Im not sure about Grahams opponent this week but the Tigers will get possibly 2 or 3 bonus points. So their end of year rankings will be about 8.2. The top 13 teams in this weeks rankings pretty much have secured a spot above Princeton. #14 Parkersburg South plays Wheeling Park and John Marshall so count them in. Now the funs begins: #15 Riverside has #3 South Charleston left They lose Princeton jumps them. #17 Parkersburg has #11 Capital left They lose Princeton jumps them. Co #18s Cabell Midland and Hurricane play each other with the loser being eliminated, and if Cabell Midland wins they also faced South Charleston which could possibly eliminate them. Co. #20 Musselman will probably lose twice and thus be eliminated. And now the kicker: Co. Number 15 Robert C Byrd has Lewis County and Bluefield left. The Beavers could end up being Princeton best friend in the end. So in my best estimation: If Princeton wins the last two games they will squeak in at Number 16.

Im not sure about the numbers, but Montcalm hasnt had 11 healthy, non sick, players at practice but one day this week. Two more kids went home this morning with flu like symptoms so I dont think they had enough to field a team. We have about 80 kids absent today.

Remember how the boys basketball coaches voted and screw Pocahontas County and Meadow Bridge last year. If they let the coaches vote they would probably keep Bluefield out of the playoffs for fear of them. What the rankings need to incorporate that they dont is a close lose to a quality team. Right now only victories get you points so anyone that you schedule that beats you, while it may help your team improve, is useless as far as the points go.

Alright here is a sceneraio that could possible happen and yall decide how will be the most deserving: Iowa goes undefeated and wins the big ten. USC wins out. Nebraska wins out. Va Tech wins out. Cincinnati wins out. Florida beats Alabama by 2 in quadruple ot. BCS worst nightmare. HOw do you take VT over Alabama which did beat them. How do you take Nebraska which VT beat. Iowa would probably get the shot given the Big East reputation. Not saying that they are the best team, but I think that they would play Florida for the NC given this scenario. If it comes down to a one loss team playing Fl or Al winner then VTs early loss would greatly help their chances. But I dont think Texas is losing so it will be them and the SEC champ playing for the NC IMHO.

Mountain St. lost its coach to a start up prep school in Huntington I think. It was thought that Noah would follow the coach there but he didnt. I imagine thats Huggins probably told him where to go and Willie Akers may have had something to do with him ending up at Logan. Just my speculations.

Here is my take on what would be an easy solution to the problem of transfer to both public and private schools. If you have a member on a particular team that is not from your actual school zone, then you must play the highest classification in your state for that sport. Reasoning you are not playing with the kids that your classification is based on. IE If Montcalm has a kid from out of district playing baseball then make them play AAA in WV. If Tazewell has a kid from Graham playing baseball then make them play up, I dont even know what the highest classification is in VA. That might fix the problem.

Played softball against him about 85 or so in a tourney at Thorpe. Man, he could fly. Stayed after we dusted them and signed autographs for everybody. Got one on a Blue Dot for my nephew. Really good guy.

It's a good thing for Tazewell that Princeton wasn't in the Coppinger this year because they would have scored: OH wait maybe 1 or 2. With their defense they would have held Tazewell under 20 for sure, well maybe.

I run from the computer to the fridge and back when Im on a break quite often. About 80 feet or so, and I can do it in 3 or 4 minutes on a good day. I could run like the wind blows in my younger days but alas too many double cheeseburgers from MCDs.
