  1. It all comes down to how you define strength. I'm sure Battle argued 0-2 against Union was "stronger" than Central's 0-3. To me, it's impossible to say winning percentage is what is implied on tiebreaker two when the actual verbiage is used on tiebreaker three. Anytime you leave it up to a committee it's a mess. We've seen numerous odd occurrences through the years. This stuff really should be laid out for everyone to see like football is. I feel like these committees make up their own rules as it goes. For what it's worth, I think Central should be the three seed by common sense on the Lebanon deal but, by how the rules are, it's impossible for them to be the two seed if you follow the rules. It's sad for everyone involved that it's literally 24 hours before postseason play begins and the seeds aren't finalized.
  2. Five of the 12 teams in our tournament are ranked in the 1A or 2A top ten per Virginia Preps: https://virginiapreps.rivals.com/news/hoops-top-tens-christmas-edition We get the tournament going tomorrow at 4 p.m. when George Wythe who is ranked No. 1 in 1A takes on Mountain Mission. Admission is $10 per day for adults and $5 for kids K-8th grade. A tournament pass can be bought for $35.
  3. We have a girls tournament prior to Christmas each season and a boys tournament after. With over 3,000 seats it's hard not to have empty seats but we have attempted to address that issue with the teams we have this year. Union - Central - Richlands are all playing this year and those three have fairly strong fan bases. We have passes for the tournament that are cheaper than the $10 a day pass to help alleviate price. Overall, the tournament will have 18 games, at the $10 a day rate that's a little over $2 a game.
  4. Everybody in our tournament at UVa-Wise is guaranteed three games unless you have a bye and lose your first game. Every game of the tournament can be heard live on FM - 92.1 WDIC or www.wdicradio.com We try to make this better every year and feel we have a great group of teams this season and I'm hopeful it will be our most competitive tournament yet while providing local youths with the opportunity to play in the nicest arena in SWVA (I'm biased but, I believe it's true). We're blessed to have the support of Grand Home Furnishings and WDIC for our event this year. If you attend please post feedback here, positive and negative. I still read the forum and we want to do everything possible moving forward to make our event the best in SWVA. I attempted to upload the complete bracket, including consolation bracket but only images are allowed. Attached is a screen shot, it's the best I can do. Merry Christmas to you all.

  13. Peak is just a freakish athlete. Never seen him play basketball but it sounds like his skills on the hardwood are similar to what he's got on the gridiron.
  14. I've seen both teams play and will be shocked if TV doesn't win big. They have the inside players to slow Otto down and their guard play is imo better than that of Council's. Please post a score when you get one tomorrow night.
  15. Boys Andrew Adkins Coeburn Jordan Martin Powell Valley Tihlee Anderson Gate City Girls Jaydee Brewer JJ Kelly
  16. Anybody know where I could find a roster for Patrick Henry (Glade Spring)? Thanks in advance.
