Hope Hurley does win the BDD this year. Just so long as Honaker doesnt. Honaker has knocked some good teams out of the Playoffs by winning that WEAK district.

Dont know about that. I think Abingdon is that bad.

I strongly believe if we had kept our starters in both quarters the score could have been at least 49 to 0.

They are in for a long season. We had 20 points on them with over 6 minutes to go in the 1st Quarter.

They looked like they were really having fun when Gate City pulled their starters and were able to move the ball a little.lol

I do appoligize. I now see what everyone is talking about with Abingdon.

Gate City was up on Abingdon 20 to 0 with over 6 minutes left in first quarter and pulled their 1st string. Abingdons 1st string then scored 1 TD on GCs 2nd string defense and Gate City stuck their 1st string O back in to score 1 more TD to make it 27 to 7. Gate City played their JV team the whole 2nd quarter against Abingdons 1st string and Abingdon just scored 1 TD making it 27 to 14. Then in the 3rd quarter that is for JV only Gate Citys JV played Abingdons 1st and 2nd string and Abingdon scored one Touchdown. Abingdon is in for a LOOOOONG year. They looked awful. I took up for Abingdon the other day for leaving their starters in on Holston but now see what they were talking about. Abingdon did the same thing against Powell Valley. PV still beat them 10 to 6 in two quarters. Then in the 3rd Abingdon left their starters in against PVs JV team and Phil Robbins got mad and pulld his whole team with about 6 minutes left. I did not stay to see it but a friend of mine at PV texted to tell me that.

I wouldnt think PV could beat Richlands this year even if they had two Miles's. I think Richlands will have the only 10-0 season in this area this year.

Thats what I thought too but he tried to and would have but he got talked into staying at Burton. He was practicing with Burton yesterday.

For those saying Gate City is a week opponent on Richlands schedule then feel free to look at the Series record between the two. Gate City holds the edge with 21 wins to Richlands 17 wins. Though it looks to change for Richlands to 18 wins next week.

Probably one of the best RBs in the area but I dont see him making a huge difference. Takes them from 3-7 to 5-5 maybe 6-4.

Guess we will see. Same thing happened last year when one of the Pinkstons went from PV to Burton. He may have to sit out a few games though.

Miles just transfered from Burton to Powell Valley to play football.

Norton will no longer be a factor in Region D. Everyone will find out why later today.

If Holston makes the state semis and play Clintwood I will pull for Clintwood but if they face JI Burton then I will be Holston all the way!

I really dont think it was just GW not that good but both Region C and D were both down last year and probably will be this year too. If everything goes the way I think it will the D2 State title is going to Region A this year. Essex returns almost all their team that lost a thriller to Gretna in the semis last year. I really hope Region D can prove me wrong and if not D then hopefully Region C. As for Division 1 I have no clue who the early favorite is.

What offense is Abingdon running this year? I am looking forward to seeing GC and Abingdon in the Jamboree this Friday.
