During your senior year and in season without a corresponding move. This confirms an earlier post coach mance was definitely making you feel good about yourself.
This is a ridiculous statement. Coach Mance is a good man who doesnt need people coming on here tainting his character. I don't know who you are but please think before you put crap like that on this board.
From the late seventies through the eighties the SWD was extremely strong in AA. Abingdon was a playoff team on numerous occasions even before the six division split. If memory serves correct they had several division one players during that time period as well as several other swd teams. Like I said in another thread the potential is there but who the hell can change the way an entire community thinks. They did experience some success in the nineties when Flinchum was there. I'm sure the carousel will continue in A-town.
If the abingdon community and administration would commit to their football program much like richlands they could be a contender. That may never happen as way too many pieces would have to fall in place in a town where there are too many chiefs and not enough indians.
I agree its a great experience for the kids and an extra week or two of practice gives you a chance to improve your program. Richlands has had a lot of extra games over the years and I'm sure that has helped them. Regardless of record kids get to practice football legally for another week. Not like other sports where they practice year round. And like Lance said it's another week of football enjoy it won't be too long before the season is over.
Ok if you really know how it works then explain the system to me. I am looking forward to hearing about it from an expert unless you are scared to elaborate.
Noe is a good guy. First time in my life I have ever heard anyone say a bad thing about Jeff Noe is on this message board. He is a first class guy and will be an asset to Wythe County.
You could make the playoffs, unlikely, but be realistic you lost to a good division one school. Your program is not ready to compete with any division four schools right now.
Cave Spring is ranked number one in power points in d3 and Salem is #1 in power points in d4. Just saw this on the vhsl site. Adds a little twist to the game.
It is probable CS will need to go 7-3 for the tornadoes to get the #1 seed. CS is ahead by 31 at the break. Losing to Gate city may come back to haunt them. The schedule also has 2 more single A opponents which won't add up in the points column that well. Hey still a lot of football to play though.
