Schools have until October 25th to inform the TSSAA if they will seek to play up in class, so far Elizabethton is the only school so far in our area to do so. I will post the
I was listening on the radio during the coin toss and when the Bluefield player was asked what they want to do, he said we want to kick the ball and the ref asked again did you want to defer and the kid said..."I don't know man, I've never done this before" which I would blame on the coaches as much as the kid. In saying thathat the refs gave him ample opportunity to change his mind. So only person to fault is that on the coaches and player.
If you can explain to me how a player standing straight up who fumbles the football, and it is recovered by the other team, then given back to the team that fumbled I'd love to hear you out When two refs pointed Graham ball btw I might add
100% fact. For the 2nd year there will not be any pre selling of tickets. All tickets are to be purchased at the gate, unless you are a season ticket holder. Tickets are $6
Just curious as to why? Crowd control? Seems like the only school in the area that does this so i'm just curious as to the thought process. Seems to me the best way to sell tickets is to give as many options to purchase as possible.
Richlands game officials are terrible, a lot of missed DB holding the WRs and missed holdong. What might be the worst is that there is no play clock and I've been timing off the official from my phones stop watch and it's continually 26-29 seconds. The hard hi fumbles must be the football gods trying to even it out on the field.
So then they really have only seen running teams.... not to dismiss VA High but they do not have the passing game such as richlands, union or abingdon. I will be really anxious to see how Glenvar can handle and prepare for the passing game. We can say a secondary is good but they haven't been tested like this before and that is hard to prepare for in practice.
I asked a similar question about appomattox but what is the best offense that Glenvar has played? Was it a run based offense or pass? Have they played a team with an offense like Union, Richlands or Abingdon?
So has Appomattox seen any spread based teams this year? I see that most teams in central VA are run first and don't have the QBs to face like a Richlands, Abingdon or even Union has. In Highschool it is hard to prepare and practice for such doffereneces, so I am curious to see if they played a team with a winning record that has a pass first or more balanced offense. If not it will be tough to for them to prepare and make in game adjustments. This is where I think Buckingham was at a disadvantage because they had football players with size and speed. I look forward to the match but curious to see if anyone else knows appomattoxs opponents
I was reading on another board about central VA having different customs and practices from pregame with the bands and fans making noise...which made me think of another practice that i've seen from all fans from SWVA.....i continue to see fans make great noise when their team is on defense, however, they continue the same level of noise while their team is on offense....it appears that it becomes a war between the fans on the other side of the field, for who can make the most noise....which is really confusing because you don't want to make noise while your team is on offense....wanted to see if anyone else has noticed this.
