I disagree. The GC boys knew they were just a play away from beating the state champs of last year. They had the big guy Holland in foul trouble very very early and their game plan worked really good. They know they are as good as anyone in the region..Today they will come out to prove it.

Looks like who ever loses the GC -Graham game will most likely play George Mason.

East in 2A is not as strong as the West in my opinion.

Gate City should come out with much more confidence ...knowing they had Martinsville in a slug-fest..made their last free throw it would have been overtime. Momentum was in GC favor..

Graham had a good press I felt. It was close at halftime. If they would have hit their shots would have been a tight game...If they don't hold their heads up after tonight , GC will win by 20. Home crowd is loud for GC..

Looks like Gate City put more points on Martinsville than any other team this year. Martinsville gets rattled when they are in a tight game. Score could have been in GC favor if they would have went into overtime in the end.

Sportsmanship at the end of the game by Martinsville was real bad.. Almost had a fight break out!

So can VHSL re-route a tourney?

Floyd County is going to be tough. Probably the biggest test the Wolfpack have faced all year. Should be a dandy of a game!

I'm from Wise but not a classless jerk.. Every town has bad apples. I think what the problem is that once a program has success in winning a couple seasons the fans think they are entitled to that year in and year out. They don't get that emotional rush and euphoria of winning and whine and fuss and lash out, etc... Think this is common all across America in college, pro and high school sports.. Maturity says your team is not going to win every time. Look for the good and be gracious in defeat. Lot's of folks I know don't enjoy attending high school sports because of the poor sportsmanship displayed by adults in the bleachers. Every team will come up short and get beat. But life goes on...

When and where are the boys and girls tournaments?

So if GC wins out they will have 9 points and Union will have 8 points?

Heard VHSL added the Quarter Finals due to the loss of 400,000 dollars in lost revenue...

Was a close game. Richlands might win the next round. Don't think either team is going to score 90 points on one another. Richlands future looks bright with the starters who will be back next year. Union will lose 3 starters.. Noaks, Barnette, Spears. And Jay Gavin who is a good player coming off the bench. Ridgeview will lose 3 key starters and Gate City will lose John Reed Barnes. Good for about 25 points a game. Basketball is a fun sport. I know Graham will lose Roman Workman, not sure who else besides Roman.

90 on Union? So they are better than the team that beat Union and won the Arby's Classic?

Tonight is right. Union by 12 in my opinion. Playing at home...but Union may be tired after playing at Battle. So they need to be careful.
