Dont hold that lebanon game to highly yet... Lebanon is a young team. They lost every single play maker they had to graduation. I'm not saying it wasn't a good win....but by no means is Lebanon the same caliber as Gate City this year. You will beat PH...unfortunately, you'll not beat Burton.

Twin Valley should win that ball game. Montcalm is pitiful.

I fully expect Abingdon to have a drop off from the past few years, however this game will be over by halftime. Rumor has it that this may be the worst PH team in many, many years. I hear that people are getting restless up in Glade Springs. Hess will put up some big numbers in this game.

Battle at Virginia High

As much as I'd like to say our SWVA representative would defeat DB....I think I'd be lying to myself and everyone else. Richlands is fast and big....but not that fast....not that big....and not that deep. Richlands may have kids getting looked at by some colleges.....they dont have a back being looked at by every school in the SEC and ACC. Just my opinion, but I dont see how Richlands would have any advantage what so ever. DB is a track team on turf....They can flat out fly. Its to bad we can find out though. I'd be pulling for Richlands because I'd love nothing more than to see ole Graham Clark explain a loss to a SWVA team with less than half of his enrollement.

Hopefully the trojans will have a great week of preparation for VHS. My main concern is the speed that VHS has. I really believe if Battle can cut out big plays and make VHS put together drives that the trojans will be successful this friday. Just watching the scrimmages, I'm not sure if VHS can keep their composure long enough to sustain long drives. Their kids seem to want/expect constant big plays and get frustrated when they're not happening. *see pv scrimmage for a good example* I'm not sure how many personal fouls were called against VHS.* The down side of that is if you give up a few big plays, VHS feeds off of it and they're hard to stop

I was very impressed last night. Battle came out of the gates and seemed to be feeling out their opponent the first 2 possessions, and then opened up the offense. The defense seemed to be in the right spots at the right time all night and was very well prepared for everything Twin Springs attempted to do. Battle has 2 speedy sophmore wide recievers that will give alot of teams trouble, as well as a 6'5 TE who showed great hands last night. The one area I noticed that needs to improve is that the offensive line needs to stay with their blocks a little longer. The starters were out at the start of the 4th quarter and the 2nd team Offense tacked on the final Touchdown against the Twin Springs starting defense. We also found out that Battle has 3 quarterbacks that can throw the ball all over the field. #22 Jerimiah Denton is a horse in the backfield, and may be the strongest runningback in the area. He is atleast 6'1 or 6'2 and weighs atleast 215 or 220. Coming into the year he was benching 345lbs. Twin Springs learned last night that if you hit him high, you're getting ran over. Like I said, I know it was Twin Springs, but it is further evidence that the coaching staff has the program going in the right direction. The real test is at Virginia High this friday night. It's been 12 years since Battle pulled off a victory in this game and a victory would be huge. Also, congrats to all of the other winning teams last night especially Richlands. Anytime you go into legion field and get a win is impressive, but most teams can't do it in the fashion that you did last night.

I know it was Twin Springs, but with the way that Battle looked last night, Battle will bring a boat load of fans also if things keep up. Starters were out at the beginning of the 4th quarter last night, when is the last time that Battle could do that?

Thats all fine and dandy....but I'm not on here predicting state titles for battle...simply saying that the program is being turned around and will not be Abingdons whipping boy any longer. Some people do not want to hear that I guess. And no, I dont take anything personal, hopefully noone else does either. All in good fun.

actually....its not the same coaches. We have 2 coaches on staff that have been there for about 5 or 6 years now. Both of those coaches came from winning programs and know how to get things done. All of the other coaches are new

are you telling me that you're getting ready to play Richlands tonight without Dusty Clark, and a banged up Joseph Vaughn? Talking about bad luck. Your stable of runningbacks just emptied out. Of course, about anyone could run the ball behind that line. How long is Dusty out for, and what exactly happened to him this late in the week? Yesterday should have been walk through day, no way he got hurt doing that. Anyway, it should still be a great game

lol, poor battleftbl had a record of 46-10 in highschool and won more playoff games than Abingdon has won in the past 20 years. Come to think it....I won more state titles (3) in my 4 years, than Abingdon has won in the history of their football program. Poor battleftbl also played on the 2001 Furman team that lost in the national title game. poor battleftbl isn't from Bristol and had nothing to do with the past 100 years of pitiful football played at Battle.....but I do know what it takes to be successful, and I promise that the days of Abingdon beating John Battle are numbered. I'm not saying that the streak will end this year, but as I've said before, it will end next year. I wouldn't be blown away though, if it does end this season. lol, poor battleftbl .. that's funny stuff though. Care to explain what credibility you Abingdon clowns have? Sitting in the stands watching your falcons get dominated by 3/4th of their schedule doesn't give much credibility, nor does your falcon leap, or entrance, or any of that other useless stuff that you guys do up there. So try something else. Your entire fan base....you run your mouth, get it shut, run your mouth, get it shut, run your mouth, get it shut. Your community has 1 championship that will never be taken away. Abingdon without a doubt has the most delusional, trash talking, full of themselves fans in the State of VA....in any division. Sad thing is, it's never backed up. You've been the kings of washington county for years.....is that something to be excited about? your school is larger than John Battle and Holston combined. I guess its the best you'll ever achieve though.

The difference is.....I know where the Battle program has been....but I also know its on an upward swing due to a great coaching staff, and a lot of hardworking kids..... You'll never hear me talk trash, or take someone lightly.... On the other hand, you're program is the laughing stock of the SWD and you still insist on running your mouths year round.....How do you get beat by 50 and still run your mouth? Maybe you all should talk less.....work more. It may be just the formula you need in order to have success.

lol , for now, we'll just have to agree to disagree. See you October 1st. We're focused on Twin Springs first, as no one should ever be overlooked. I hear open date has a heck of a running game and exactly what week does Richlands come to town? It might be a good idea to chain barter theatre to the ground....I hear an F5 tornado is coming your way.

Is open a SWD opponent? If so, then great for Abingdon. If not, then it looks like Abingdon will not win a district game this fall.

ahhh big boy, You shouldn't look ahead. Battle has a few other teams to focus on before the Abingdon game. But we'll see. One things for sure though. If Abingdon does come out on top, You'll not hear excuses or crying from me, unlike a certain fan base that I know. But like I said, we'll see. Worry about week 1 first though.

Where have all of the Abingdon posters gone? Are they that bad...or maybe trying to sneak up on some teams this year? Either way, posts are much more intelligent now and its falcon awesome, lol.
