  1. I'm with you Carrollfan, there is no need to use vulgarity on a board such as this. If you can't get your point across without vulgarity, you need to go back to school and study grammar again.:)
  2. Two very deserving football players who came from small schools to make it big in college football albeit, at different instutions. As I think about it, Major came from Pittsburgh--not small in any sense of the word. Still, it's a well deserved honor for both of them.:)
  3. AEP does not serve a large part of Blacksburg, it is served by the univ. itself. There are also many reaSONS FOR A SUSTAINED OUTAGE. iF THIS WAS A TRANSFORMER WITHIN A SUBSTATION, REPLAVEMENTS ARE NOT ALWAYS AVAILABLE IN THE IMMEDIATE AREA. tHESE THINGS, TRANSFORMERS, ARE REALLY LONG LIFE PIECES OF EQUIP. AND MOST LAST MANY YEARS. sORRY FOR YOUR INCONVENIENCE THOUGH.
  4. :)fieldgeneral, your dad is in good hands in the hospitals in Roanoke. They take pride in doing their work as best as can be done. I've been there and I know what I am talking about. I will keep your dad and your family in my prayers.
  5. As UVA Observer wrote, take these remarks with a large amount of salt. These comments are surely the thoughts of a loser in the political arena. I saw the article and listened to it twice to make sure I was hearing correctly. I used to have a great deal of respect for Alan but, the more I hear him, the less I like him.
  6. they are definitely two different things--quickness is of short duration or distance--speed is over the long haul. to have a player who possesses both is super.
  7. Let me clear trhings up just a bit, or, maybe muddy the waters. Actually there two kickers transferring in. One is from Western Washington and, the other one is originall;y from Musselman and is transferring in from Alabama. The more the merrier. This is all according to last ni,ghts BlueGold news football board.:)
  8. please disregard my previous post, i had not read the bluegold board when i saw your post about a transfer kicker. this guy may add some needed depth to that position. he sounds pretty good. in my previous post i was referring to another possible transfer kicker, i think from alabama. iread about him in a post on the bluegold a couple of days ago.
  9. are you referring to the transfer from alabama(i think)? if you are, he is a native west virginian and may be of help to the eers next year.
  10. I believe he is the only FB on the Seattle roster at present.
  11. This is great news, he deserves to satart. Owen giver 100 percent on every play. Hope he makes all pro team.:)
  12. Pulaski co 1975--over2000 today--1100:)
  13. I agree with coach simon that this would be a good idea and the three coaches he mentioned would surely occupy prominent positions, however, I also think coach "Burrhead" Bradley should also be there. I remember coach Bradley from the time he was JV coach in Princeton and then moving on to head coach at Graham. It was always a delight to have coaches Bradley and Gainer appear before the Bluefield Jaycees and talk about what their teams would look like in the coming season. It was almost comical to hear them cry about how bad they were going to be. They both were fine coaches and true gentlemen. bradley and Gainer, come to one of our meetings in the fall and cry about howadf their respective teams were going to be that year. Both were truly fine coaches and gentlemen. They should be honored as coach Simon proposes.
  14. I agree, the thought of a gang of windmills on ERM does not sound too swift. However, they can only be placed in areas where the win d is prevalent, which would limit the placement drastically. Also, the need for power could override the aesthetic beauty of the area, although I hope it never comes to that.
  15. Congrats Joel, and to Randy Mac for accepting a fine athlete. Make everyone in swva proud of you.
