  1. Good luck to everyone, I pray everyone plays hard, hits hard and avoids injuries. No matter the outcome just play the way that'll make you proud for a lifetime.
  2. It's just a (highlight memory) from me youth. For whatever reason just brought it up.
  3. You know, I know this I doesn't have a lot to do with your thread, but for whatever reason I remember years ago at app state football camp playing "Greer" in 7 on 7 (because we played Daniel Boone and Greer played Boone also) at App State football camp and remembering Greer vs Avery Cointy in 7 on 7 (just helmet) knocking the crap out of each other while Scott Elliot (South Carolina interim head coach 2015) (App State assistant then) agging it on hahaha
  4. You know, when I think of Ray Jones, him eating grass is the first thing that comes to mind lol
  5. JJ Kelly surprised me, I thought their playoff resume would've been more compelling.
  6. Thanks so much Researcher! The body of work you've compiled will last for generations, god bless you.
  7. I honestly must say Lloyd combs, he suffered a stroke a short while back and has been in/out of nursing home. But yet in his wheelchair he has been hand carried into press boxes to announce games for 100.7 while also contributing to the herald carrier, bluefield daily, and Virginia mountaineer.
  8. I think what most outsider's and many Hurley fans don't realize is this season's schedule was put in place almost 3 years ago. It's not exactly like Hurley predicted a team that would perform like they have. Will it hurt Hurley in the playoff's? yes, most definitely. My point is, respectable Hurley fans have argued the dominance they have performed with, while most have claimed their weak schedule. Like I said, Hurley has 180 students and it's not like they were a powerhouse 3 years ago. So why would any 2a schools within reasonable distance even wanted to schedule Hurley? Outside of the BDD, the closest schools that would be a step up in competition (In VA only) would be Lebanon(2a), Ridgeview(2a), Richlands(2a), Tazewell(2a). Off of my head the closest 1A school in better competition is Burton or even Patrick Henry, but its not like anyone predicted Henrys Success either. Which I agree 100% Hurley should play them over TS, Holston,Phelps,Montcalm anyday. But the fact of the equation is, Hurley is Geologically challenged for VA 1A competition. Now seep into Ky you have east ridge(2a ky, dropped us) Tug Valley(1A dropped us) and then you have Riverview(2a), Mingo Central(2a). On a normal talent level its neither beneficial to the 2a schools or Hurley to compete. If Hurley had a reputation of continuing competiveness then maybe some of thise 2A schools would agree to the game, but when rider points are the issue they do not want to play a 1A school that averages 4-6 wins a season.
  9. So, someone calls Graham manure and it's a sin? Yet Hurley has 180 kids in the school (which is the seconds smallest football school in VA the last I heard) Lead VA in all classifications in scoring, while averaging nearly 500 yards a game and you cannot help yourself to keep from talking crap about them? You must either be a crooked lawyer or a terrible one because you bend everything to suite yourself when someone states their opinion. Just chill dude, you're really an A$$ and cannot back the majority of what comes out of your mouth on paper. The majority of Hurley's D TDS have came into the second half and you pick 2 games? Graham played 4, yes 4 single A schools. only beating FC by 21 and Galax by 14? Oh wait you say, they're GOOD 1A schools? I thought 2A is so much more superior in talent (a statement you've made before- I paraphrase there) oh wait? I am from Hurley, I shouldn't know what Paraphrase even is. It's time for YOU to shut up snowflake :) The last time I called you out a few years ago I remember telling you Tech will beat UVA by 3TD's you said it would NEVER happen and yet Tech steamrolled 38-0. My point, You do not know everything about football, you cannont predict the future. Just support the local teams man unless they're playing Graham. Just because a couple Hurley ppl gets under your skin I advise you not to group all of Hurley together. I take it personally, I respect every team and show respect to every team even the ones who have fans that ERRKKK the crap out of me.
  10. I'd imagine PM's win over 3A Rockbridge contributes greatly to SOS.
  11. If PM wins I'd imagine Hurley fans will be upset, of course, heartbreak is part of the game. But please do not make the mistake that Hurley fans are not respectable and humble in defeat. A few bad apples doesn't ruin a fan base.
  12. How many 0-fers did PM play this season? Whatever your thing is against Hurleys it's becoming irritatingly redundant.
  13. Outside of Honaker please tell me where those games haven't been garbage time?
  14. It does, I checked Pm2015 vs Hurley 2015 and it predicts pm would win, which didn't happen. But the darn calculations are eerily accurate until you really start reaching evenly matched teams.
  15. Hurleys D is actually pretty good... The reason teams have scored points has been the fact of Hurley putting 40-50 up by halftime with subs playing the entire second half. Mark Cooper (hurley AD) posted the game being Friday. The Size of PM is unbelievable for a single A school, That worries me.
  16. McCluer scares me, they have a couple big backs. Hurley stopped them last season pretty convincingly. What scares me is towards the closing minutes last year McCluer went to a wildcat and ran all over Hurley. If I was PM id open with it.
  17. Thanks, good luck vs glenvar!
  18. Hurleys kicker boots the ball through the endzone routinely, I don't understand the no field goal policy.
  19. It wasn't really a sluggish start as much as making adjustments to the veer. RR really had a game plan to hold the ball but didn't make any adjustments that worked as the game went on.
  20. In all honesty, I've never in my life seen the hits that I saw Hurley put on RR tonight. As biased as I am with Hurley that's the most unbiased statement I could make about it. My dad wanted to finish watching the last quarter just to see licks.
  21. No matter our school/decade, SWVA football has shaped each and everyone of our lives. God bless everyone who contributes to this board.
  22. "Pounds highlight of football was in the early 90s? State runner-up." Didn't pound have a state title contender around 98 or 99? I may have sports/schools mixed up?
  23. The original "clinch valley district " consisted of Honaker, Hurley, Pocahontas, garden, white wood, St. Paul as off 1977.. confiremd by Hurley yearbook.
