They will have to make time. They have to get the district games in. One option that is likely to happen is that the district tourney has to be complete by Feb. 20. So the SW district might play their tournament on Thursday, Friday and Saturday and give teams 3 extra days to get some games in.

Yeah it is still considered a good win. I agree Abingdon stuggles every year in regions. Have for years with the exception of 2003 and 2005. But, when you have, I think, 3 or 4 new starters this season it is a good win. They are gaining composer and confidence in that situation. Even if it is a school of only 400. Don't know if you have ever noticed or not PH has some very good looking athletes at that school. More than Abingdon in my opion. That is sad, but true.

Don't know anything about how the games was played. But, from having played in that series and watching games played @ PH over the years, Abingdon never plays well at Ph. Its actually a tough place to play. Nothing against PH I know they got some athletic big men and really play had. Good win for Abingdon though.

Hurley beat VA High last night. They should have beat J.J Kelly, but lost by three. If they tall kid had not split his head they would have.

I'm surprised people are counting Abingdon out of the mix so soon. Aren't they returning some guys from last season? And I know a player that didn't play last season, which would have been a huge addition last season, is playing again this season.

All I know is that I've traveled this season and have seen a lot of good and bad games. But, the officials sucked last week. I know its late, but the bullhorn lady had every right to yell and be pissed. The guy on Hurley's sideline BLEW the 2pt conversion call.

103.3 is the worst announcers on the air. you never know what the score is, what quarter it is, nothing. second, they bad mouth the coaching staff. They say stuff like, I don't know why we did that. If it was me I'd.... Regaurdless if you agree or disagree you are on the air. You weren't at practice all week. You didn't watch film. So shut your mouth. You don't know what they are trying to do. Abingdon doesn't have the best athletic group this year. Not an easy thing to work with.

Respect isn't going to come from one game. Sorry. Abingdon will gain some respect when they play with some heart and hit somebody in the mouth. But, once again you hit this Abingdon team hard in the first quarter and you've already beat them. I think Graham is going to be the odds on favorite going into the season. Grundy could surprise some teams this season, but don't look for them to win. The interesting team to watch will be Abingdon. They lost a few key players last season, but they also have a lot of experience coming back. But from my understanding Coach Lasley was promoted to Athletic Director and his wife is due with their child right at the start of the season. It will be interesting to see if that pays off for the Falcon players or not. Will they spend more time practicing and be worn out come game night or will they slack on practice time and be fresh come game night.

I've seen both teams play and it could be a really good game actually. I see Burton winning when its all said and done, but the Falcons have a good chance. Burton's D isn't that great. If Abingdon can stop the BIG play from happening more than once, they will have a real shot at winning. Miles Martinez is good he is very good, but no the best player in the state. I can't think of the guys name, but Fort Chiswell's running back is by far the best running back/player in SWVA. The kid looks very good running the ball and making the D miss.
