Exactly. They may want to keep the word Wise out of it but the majority will call it Wise Central including myself. Too confusing to call it Central with all the Central High Schools in this day and time.

The ye sure did do well against them. Being in the State Semis in 94 and 95 was no easy task for a school that small playing against the other Seminole teams!Wonder how they would have done in D1 or 2 those years?

Not a Region C or D school but William Campbell used to be AA as well. From what I heard they played as AA with D1 numbers for years. Gate City beat them in 94 in the Division 3 State Semifinals. Dont know what year they dropped to D1.

Gate City, Pulaski County, Wise Central, and one other school will be at Emory and Henry Saturday August 13th. I think it starts at 11 am.

Any kid from the 3rd string of Bluefields team would become an allstar at Richlands and start at any position he chooses! That is why I understand people at Bluefield not being impressed with him and those at Richlands thinking him the best thing since sliced bread! LOL! Most know that Richlands could not carry Bluefields SLOP BUCKET!:p I am sorry but I could not resist posting that!:D I am only kidding! :p:D

You could see two teams from the same district playing each other for the State Title.

Lee returns alot of skill players this year. I think they placed 2nd in the district last year. They will likely be in the top running this year.

I have a question for everyone here. With all the dedication the young men at Abingdon give to the Falcon Awesome Football Program HOW HAVE THEY NOT WON ATLEAST ONE FOOTBALL STATE CHAMPIONSHIP IN THE LAST FIVE YEARS? With that kind of dedication they should be winning at the least two every four to five years!:rolleyes:

That is interesting. Gate City will scrimmage PC either Aug. 12th or 13th. Have heard rumor that it will be at Emory and Henry and involve 4 teams as a Jamboree. The teams are Central(Wise), Castlewood, Gate City, and Pulaski County. This has not been confirmed but I hope so. But to get back to the Bluefield subject. Can someone tell me if Bluefield returns many from last years team? Does Bluefield look to compete for the WVA AA State Title again this Fall? Just give me a nice breakdown on the 2011 Bluefield Varsity Football Team please.

deuceswild- It may not matter to Lee about traveling to Richlands. I just see them fitting in better with the LPD for some reason. Red Tiger- How much say would these schools really have in where they will be placed? I was thinking it did not matter so much as to where the schools wanted to be as it would be where the VHSL would actually place them.

I am going to answer this without reading any other replies fiirst. If you are going to play football then you should be expected to go to summer workouts. If you are going to do something then give it 100%. To answer your remark about having a job and a life it sounds to me like football is not for you. If you want to play football then that should be your life and your job.

Sounds good to me. I really like what you have planned for the new site. I just wish the Gate City site had not went down. Was a lot of info there. I love looking at past scores and schedules.

vhslhelper- I see what you mean. I figure since they have disolved on their own that the VHSL would not be pushing to create any others. But who knows? Might be the very plan. Myself I hope not. red tiger- Gate City and Richlands are not that far apart from one another. I can answer your question on GCs part and it would be a yes. They would be willing to play Richlands in District play. Richlands is not that much far past Lebanon. I dont see the CMD desolving. It will be restructered if Richlands is put in it. Lee would likely be placed in the LPD because they would not want to play district games against Richlands due to the distance between them. But it will come down to what the VHSL decides and who knows what they will come up with? Like I said earlier what I think will happen and what does happen will likely be two different things.:D

There would be no room for an extra district would it? Region C and D both have 4 districts a piece now. I just dont see the VHSL making a 5 District Region. I know Football has no Regions at this time but the other sports do. If the SWD continues it will likely remain as AA in hopes of not going to a Two District Region IV. It will not be what the schools want to do with the SWD or how they want to form a district by joining where they want to. It will be what and where the VHSL wants to do with those schools.

Dogwood is the one I am thinking of. It is still a District but true single A now. Gretna was one of the AA schools in it when it was A/AA. When they dropped to A it became a true A District didnt it?

I dont think the BDD would be out of the question but if Richlands dropped if they dont go to a Region C District then it would likely be the CMD. I really dont see the VHSL going back to an A/AA District after doing away with the ones they did have. If Marion, Abingdon, and Caroll County stay AA they might keep the SWD alive as a small district otherwise the SWD will be no more. The one thing I know for certain is it will be a mess. Tazewell may very well join up with Graham in the MED or go to the Hogo. Richlands would go to the Hogo, Clinch or BDD. I hope the Clinch. Have seen posts here about Gate City going back to the LPD. That could happen but not without a huge fight. I know that first hand. GC wants no part of the LPD and I would not be surprised to see a lawsuit if the VHSL tried to put them back in there. But who knows? When this all comes down they might change their minds but I doubt it. Even though I cant see alot of this happening that I referred to in this post dont mean it wont happen. Im just a dumb yayhoo from Scott County. LOL! Still interesting to read and post about it.
