You are playing a team just as good year in year out as Richlands. Since Gate City and Richlands picked the series back up in 01 they both have 5 wins a piece. Out of the 40 games the 2 have played GC holds the edge 22 to 18. I dont much care for the travel between GC and Bluefield but this will be a great game so long as they keep playing and I think they will. Nobody else wants to play either one and it would be hard for either to replace one another if it is dropped.

Call Gretna instead. I would love to see that matchup. It would be a great game year in year out and would be considered AA also. Gretna also has problems getting teams to play them.

Only thing I think would hurt the Warriors is the intimidation. I have seen Games before that Chilhowie should have beat GW but somehow come up short. The warriors need to go in the game with confidence.

I think it will. We dont want to drop you all even though the trip is long to get to either place. We have the same problem you guys have with scheduling. No one wants to play us. Thought we was going to pick Sullivan North up but they backed out. That was to replace a team that has already dropped us.

Falconawesome will be beating Salem in the playoffs for the Region IV Title just one week after they beat Christiansburg.:D:rolleyes:

Was not blaming him for the block. He was sure rattled after the block though. To Bluefield fans. I am sorry for the wording of my posts to look like backhanded compliments. Sometimes I am just plain stupid. As for the game it was a mirror image of last years game with the home team winning. I think both teams know how to defend their homes. Why would you want to play them? I think you guys are better off doing what you have been doing. If WV teams are as weak as some have said here it would hurt Bluefield to play them. Also in Virginia Single A Divisions 1 and 2 are doing away with Regions as it has caused alot of problems. In Region B they have Division 1 teams that are bigger than Division 2 teams in other Regions.

You did not see me say we would roll into Bluefield and walk out with a win. I never get on these boards saying we will roll into anywhere and come away with an easy win. I did say somewhere if we played mistake free and to the ability that we can we could win the game but it would not be easy. That was the worst coached and played game I have seen us play since the horrible 2005 season. There was just no fire at all under our Offense last night. Bluefield to me is without a doubt the 3rd best team we have played this year. They are very similar to Sullivan South but South had more team speed and our O did just fine with them because they actually showed up. Not only that but our play calling was a ton better in that game. You cant call the same 3 plays over and over untill the last 4 or so minutes and expect to win against a good team like Bluefield. Also I have said we have been playing better since Richlands but that was definately not the case last night. We could play Richlands 10 times and play to the best of our abillity but we would still lose all 10. Richlands is by far the best team we have faced all year and could beat any team in our area by no less than 4 tds. We just walked into a hornets nest last night I did not play to the best of our ability. Same thing that happened to Bluefield last year at our place. Teams always seem to play well on Homecoming. I hope like Bluefield did last year when we beat them in almost similar fashion this loss wakes our team up and shows them they need to give it 110% every game no matter what. Also can someone tell me why we were using a new punter last night? When Bluefield blocked the punt that set the tone for the game from there on out. I may be wrong but I thought Clark was our starting punter? The one we had last night just got thrown into a buzzsaw. Anyways we have Battle next and if we play them like we played last night you can chalk up another Loss. Good Luck from here on out Bluefield!

Oh and I was glad to see the favor returned to us this year on taking the knee to end the game when you guys could have probably scored. You guys have a very classy coach also.

I have to agree with you guys. I would say you will keep GC on the schedule as long as you want to. If those other WV teams want to improve then they need Bluefield on their schedule or some other good teams. I think most are fine with going 10-0 and losing early in the playoffs. A battle tested team will almost always go far.

I am glad we were not playing Richlands tonight! RHS could have named the score with the way we played tonight. This was the worst I have seen GC play since 2005 and was very lucky to only lose by 21. It looked to me like our Offense just gave up after going down by 7. Our D played good but just got wore down. Bluefield is a good team and did exactly what good teams do. They won. Our offensive play calling finally showed up in the last few minutes of the game. That was our best play calling all night but way too late to make a difference. We were just plain out coached and out played tonight. Good Luck Beavers! Go win State!

I just cant agree with the South is not all that good part. They only lost to Greeneville by 15 and I think Greeneville would beat any team in Northeast TN on any night. South will not beat DB tomorrow night but I would not be surprised if they keep it close. I see South finishing 6-4 to finish out the season winning the rest of their games after tomorrow night.
