Oh, sorry I wasn't talking about that game...my bad. I was talking about the AHS/JSB 8th grade game. Some really really bad calls.

Serious question....how in the world can you EVER have a defensive holding call IN THE BACKFIELD on a running play? Not possible. Also, after the halftime buzzer sounds and the benches are going to their respective sidleline huddles and a player throws his helmet down in disgust at his teams play.......how does that constitute bringing everyone BACK on the field for an additional play? Should that not be assessed on the second half kickoff? Of course it should. I have no problem with calling the penalty...none at all....but when you bring the teams back out after they have both deemed it to be halftime is ludicrous. Yep, you guessed it...BOTH of these horrible calls resulted in touchdowns. And if you weren't there then no need to comment because you have no idea of how bad these calls truly were.

Oh, I live in Abingdon now....but I am not FROM Abingdon. I would wholeheartedly agree that there are some "elitists" in Abingdon...a whole lot of them...it's just that I am not one of them. It was not my intention to mislead you...I just mis-communicated. It was not my intention to incite.

Dude, the same can be said for freakin' high school football. The shame of it all is that high school sports is all some people will have to hold onto. Don't start this "it's only 8th grade football" crap with me. That can be said about the high school level as well....and you're on this board too...transitive property DOES work in this scenario.

About 3 years ago Richlands came to Abingdon (8th grade) and Abingdon beat them. They called and asked for another game...we obliged. They came back down and we beat them again. They called and asked for a THIRD game and we obliged AGAIN...but they asked for it up in Richlands. We go to Richlands and they beat us up there. I say all that to say this.....uh, PH, we asked for another game this year and you guys said no. Scared? Must be. Your coaching staff knows you got away with one and you sure don't want to show it. I guess with the varsity being so bad you want to hold onto something. BTW, the score at half time was 30-13. Final score was 42-35.

I know I have stirred a few people up with my posts in the past...just because it's fun to see reactions. But, serious question here...what is Grahams 8th grade team like? Anybody know anything about them? We (Abingdon) host them on Monday of next week...just trying to get an idea on what to expect from them. TIA.

Abingdon wins last night at Holston 44-6. If I remember correctly PH only beat Holston 30-20. If I remember how to do math correctly, 44-6 is a 38 point spread....whereas you guys only beat them by 10. Deduce for yourself who would win a re-match. Nuff said.

You guys are a one pony show and that can and will be coached against. The kid is good but he ain't everything. If you're hoping that he alone will make PH relevant again you need to hope on something else. He needs help and you guys don't have it. Nice try ghostface...now, go try and scare someone else. BTW, we killed you guys in the second half..22-12.

Why is that funny? I am being serious. We smoked Richlands and had 2-3 deep in after the score was 13-0 in the 1st. We lost to PH for a myriad of reasons and if they would replay us we would literally kill them. We have some serious talent right now and if these guys stick together then in about 3-4 years we will be a force to reckon with at the HS level. We play Holston tonight (I think it's Holston) and, once again, I expect 2-3 deep to get a lot of playing time. Who you thinking of Trav?

Dude, you make it sound like the only calls that you think were bad were against RHS. So NOT true. What about the kid who stands up after he's tackled and spikes the ball on about the 20???? Why in the crap was that NOT called???? What about #44 spearing one of our kids...BADLY? Why was that not called???? Here's the freakin deal....you guys were actually having to play a game last night instead of waltzing thru as usual and your guys committed some penalties because of it. Period. Did AHS have some penalties called and uncalled? Abso-freakin-lutely. To even insinuate that refs had a na genda is ludicrous and it is petty. Period. Look, if RHS is as good as everyone says then why don't they act like they have been here before and be a little humble. To claim that the game was close because of the refs is very poor sportsmanship and frankly, I expected more from you RHS fans. I am now done with this thread so go ahead and rip me all you want....pump yourself up on a public forum, gain some e-cred from your buddies..do whatever it is you do. Peace out.

Nope not chain gang. Post the pics if you have them. Your #44 speared one of our guys and it wasn't called...and it was bad..real bad. You had a guy spike the ball and nothing was called. It went both ways so don't kid yourself. AHS gave you game for awhile and you aren't used to that. Is RHS a better team? Sure. But don't take away the fact that AHS played you all tough for the first 1 1/2 qrtrs by claiming the refs slowed things down. That's petty and quite ridiculous.

For the first quarter and about 8 minutes of the 2nd this was a real ball game. I was on the Richlands sideline and I heard Mance say..."it's okay guys, we got ourselves a ball game here"...then, in a span of about 4 minutes RHS scored 20 quick points and that's all she wrote. Fumble recovery for 6, onside kickoff, muffed punt...wow, the game turned fast. Hess was pressured all night and he just wouldn't stay in the pocket at all...sometimes he couldn't, but either way he took the snap and rolled out or got real happy feet. Just for the record, and I know this will piss off the RHS fans and I don't mean for it to, seriously...there were some penalties that caused the fans (and players and coaches) to go berzerk...but they were legitimate. Pass interference a couple of times, defensive holding, unsportsmanlike conduct....RHS will have to watch that kind of stuff at a different location. Those penalties helped to keep AHS in the game early on. It might have hurt RHS a little more if we had a stronger team. No doubt about it, RHS has some ballers. For the record, I never predicted an AHS win. I silently hoped but I knew it would take 4 qrters of excellent ball by AHS and numerous mistakes by RHS and we just didn't get that tonight. Congrats to RHS and best of luck the rest of the season.

Yes, RHS will probably beat Abingdon pretty badly. Having said that, how boring is that? I want to see a close game that conditioning plays a role in. One where a single mistake can cost a team a win. Scores like 48-12 are boring games. Scores like 14-10 are much better games. If you're looking for bragging rights on a high school (again, HIGH SCHOOL) sports forum then this weekend may be the best weekend of your life....which, truly, is very very sad.

Let's call a truce. Seriously. Since I am so new I didn't know that the "recruit" thing had been rehashed over and over again. I feel certain that Richlands has a phenomenal team, seriously. Do I also think that in about 3-4 years Abingdon will be looking good? Yep, I do. We will be much more competitive in the years to come...and I am sure Richlands will continue to be competitive as well. It will make for some great football and that's what all of us really want, right? Best of luck to Richlands and we will see you guys Friday night.
