Virginia High looks to finish with their best record since 1997 (I think) and Lee, now mathematically out of the playoffs, has nothing to lose & the past two years has spoiled the 'Cats season finale. Thoughts and predictions?

I'm sure we'll still play Battle, like before 2007 when we were in the Highlands and were in the Hogo

VA High can clinch a playoff birth here with a win & believe it or not, Lebanon is actually still technically able to win the CMD (if they manage to beat us and Battle). Could be a good game; predictions?

I'd like to compare VHSL Reference and Cal Preps simulators and see which is more accurate

I've long wished to see the four Bristol area schools (Virginia High, Tennessee High, John Battle, and Sullivan East) play each other every year and have the team with the best record get some sort of trophy. Obviously THS would dominate just about every year (heck, East is 0-43 all time against the Vikings) but years like this year and last, there could be upsets

Not defending Abingdon by any means but here you go: 1.) In 2010 they went 6-4 and went to the playoffs, lost to Magna Vista 2.) Last year they beat Battle who went 6-4 3.) Two weeks ago they beat Carrol County, whose enrollment is about 150 more 4.) VA High has about 8-10 coaches I believe 5.) Because it's Abingdon and they need stability in coaching, no matter his character, that's my guess

This year especially, the VHS-Battle game should've been played at the end of the year, when both teams are in their groove, instead of in August

VA High has risen like Lazarus from the dead & if not for incredibly close losses should be 7-1, only the TN High loss was by more than 6 points. Again, like Battle though, the CMD is weak this year

Final round of Single-A Golf is today, Virginia High is in third, two strokes off the lead & Wise Central is sixth, five strokes off the lead. For individuals, Ryan Hyatt (Virginia High) is tied for second, three strokes off the lead

Another reason the GC-Battle game will be interesting, two teams with very conflicting scheduling styles

What the hell is our AD (Coach Reed) thinking scheduling them. If we're going to have any chance of having a winning record like Battle, we need to schedule easy schools like they do

Game of the year so far? My opinion: VHS-Battle, even if it was as gut wrenching a loss as possible, it was a helluva game we'll be talking about for years to come
