Well FM and SB. The players that you said would make all of the difference for us are playing now. Those middle schoolers are sophomores now and they are starting. You said this would be a time of dominance for the Falcons. Guess we are going to see.

Abingdon will be hosting Lord Botetourt August 16th.

They will not help things out. BOWELS does not tolerate thoughtful ideas that are not in lockstep with his own. Big O is right there have been many really good athletes that have left or simply wont play. The reason? He refuses to put the best 11 on the field and try to win games.

Bowels,(my spelling) will utilize predictable offensive schemes and defenses that are not conducive to stopping swva offenses. He will not recognize the true talent that he has and this could cost the team. This has been the norm, but I hope it changes this year. If he could just be a good fundamental coach, this team could do really well. This team is talented and only weak at a few positions. The team has the beef up front to be a good run team. I think that they will need to run the ball a lot because I don't think the pass game will be there.

Tough schedule early. Should be very solid on the O line and D line. Gibson, Craven and Bailey could play for any team. Seems like some good skill players are coming back in the run game and receiving corp. If a passing game could be found and Bowels lets someone else help coach, I see the Falcons having a winning season.

You are right Rifle, I was not at the game. I was merely echoing sentiments of the radio announcers. I do not for one minute think that the boys are mediocre, just the opposite. I think we have, generally, better athletes than most schools around. We do have alot of good folks in Abingdon of which you are one but Lasley is not. He is part and parcel of the problems with the "major" sports at AHS. Helping us get a mat does not make him a good AD. The reason that our Wrestling program is good is not because of him. Its because of a grass roots effort that people like you and a few others have sustained. You are probably right that I'm frustrated and I have cause to be. Probably should not have posted in the BB forum. I tend to think that my heart is soft when needed but it is also honest when needed.

Cavs broke them down and out coached them at the end. Congrats to them. BJ is following in Bowles foot steps of mediocrity.

You are right, not a bad coach. "Quirks" is about the nicest word you could have used.

He coached football. He coordinated alot.

I certainly hope he does, but I think he is going to stay and teach.
