  1. http://animal.discovery.com/tv/finding-bigfoot/episode-guide.html Apparently the Finding Bigfoot people have filmed an episode at Gum Hill (Washington Co., near Bristol). I've never been a big fan of all this big foot/alien/ghost stuff, but I may have to watch this episode.
  2. That's one of my biggest concerns in all of this. Now Canada's gonna think twice before making deals like this with us and that'll cost us big time in the future.
  3. You know, I've been thinking. With the next election, it doesn't matter who gets the presidency, if we don't elect a congress to match, nothing will get done and things like this pipeline thing will keep happening. I just hope most of the voters in November realize this and vote accordingly.
  4. http://www.usatoday.com/sports/basketball/nba/story/2012-01-20/Toe-injury-causing-more-problems-for-Bulls-Derrick-Rose/52696520/1 I hate it that Rose is injured, but I do love the fact that even with their top player out, the Bulls still have the best record in the NBA. Shows just how good the rest of the team is.
  5. Probably just one person (maybe on the school board, maybe not) who didn't like it and it had to change.

  7. Newt's first pic was hilarious....his full name, that look, those glasses...my god.
  8. Wow, it's only $79 to play. I figured it'd cost more than that.
  9. I forgot about him for a while too. Seemed like he was the one to beat in the beginning for a while, then just dropped off the face of the earth. I just wonder who'll be the next to go. I can't see Romney dropping out since he's been leading everyone else and Ron Paul has enough money and cult support to stay in it (plus he's always got some point to make). For some reason, Gingrich and Santorum seem like the guys that would be most likely to run out of money or something like that and have to drop out. They're probably filthy stinking rich for all I know, but I just get that feeling from them for some odd reason.
  10. http://www.latimes.com/news/politics/la-pn-rick-perry-to-end-presidential-campaign-20120119,0,4552822.story At this point, the GOP race is turning into a season of Survivor. Only 4 left: Romney, Paul, Santorum, and Gingrich. Since Cain just "suspended" his bid, I wonder if maybe he's just waiting until everyone else drops out, then tries to make a comeback? Most likely not though.
  11. http://www.usatoday.com/news/politics/story/2012-01-15/huntsman-withdraws-presidential-race/52587668/1 Well, another GOP candidate is dropping out of the race. I guess Huntsman just couldn't handle being behind Colbert in the polls, lol.
  12. I don't see it either. The thumbnail and link just says "Image Hosted by Angel Fire angelfire.com".
  13. Guys, our current system IS a joke and Colbert is a political SATIRIST. He purposely makes fun of things to show how ridiculous they really are. It's his job. Like him or hate him, most things about our government suck and he's just pointing it out. John Stewart does the same thing. Everyone likes to talk about how the current people running and the media are just one big circus, but when you get someone in there that's actually doing it on purpose just to show how ridiculous it really is, it just seems like you all jump to defend the circus you were calling out earlier.
  14. http://www.washingtonpost.com/national/stephen-colbert-transfers-super-pac-to-jon-stewart-teases-entry-to-republican-primary-in-sc/2012/01/12/gIQAuLSmuP_story.html Personally, I hope he runs, even if it's just in South Carolina. I know that if he does run there, he'll get a lot of votes just from being an SC native and being famous, but what does it say about the current candidates if he actually won in SC? I wish he'd just run all out and not just in SC.
  15. http://wimp.com/lennonstatue/ So let me get this straight....the Cuban government pays this guy to sit around in the park all day near a statue of John Lennon so that he can put the statue's glasses on when a person comes near. Wow.
  16. Didn't know if this was on here or not (I'm definitely not surfing through 30+ pages for it) so here you go: http://www.wimp.com/timtebow/
  17. http://wimp.com/woffordiowa/ This is why you should be thorough in every aspect of the game.
  18. And now they are saying that the gunman also attended Uva-Wise for a year before going to Radford and even served in the SGA at Wise. http://www2.tricities.com/news/2011/dec/10/alleged-virginia-tech-shooter-has-apparent-ties-wi-ar-1533841/?referer=http://www.facebook.com/l.php?u=http%3A%2F%2Ftricities.com%2Far%2F1533841%2F&h=1AQEFkxV9&shorturl=http://bit.ly/w1AIr7
  19. I'd say yes. They've identified the gunman as a Radford student who stole an SUV at gunpoint to drive to VT. http://www.nydailynews.com/news/crime/virginia-tech-gunman-identified-police-article-1.989472
  20. I guarantee that the number of fans upset about this are far fewer than the number that like it or are at least ok with it, but they'll get their way in the end. Sad.
  21. http://www.wimp.com/shootcannonball/ I'm a big fan of the show and hope this doesn't cause any trouble with it, but I'm pretty sure the people in this neighborhood won't let this one go.
  22. My first laptop was a Compaq and I loved it. Battle used to use nothing but Compaqs because we never had any trouble out of them and our computer people could upgrade them easily (went to Dells because they're cheaper). My new laptop is a Compaq, but I think HP owns Compaq now and just uses the name, or so I've been told. I know it has something to do with HP, so I would recommend an HP/Compaq laptop. Mine was $350 with warranty and does everything I need and a little more. Big screen, lots of options, easy to use. I don't know anything about Lenovo, so I can't say anything about that, but it's just up to you to check out the stats of whatever you're looking at and get what suits whatever you do with a computer. I don't know how much help it will be, but here's a sight I found that helps you find the computer you're looking for: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/buy/pcs.aspx?brandname=lenovo&category=all&CMXID=ef_sem&semid=ef_BNG_new2pq9klu7w2x6lewi027443f50h6zq21727&WT.srch=1&category=PC_Scout&ef_id=DihOJkuHeGgAAAK9:20111208015608:s
  23. Apparently so. Here's what I found on Wikipedia (I know, it's Wikipedia, but I've found it to be right 99% of the time I've used it): The Sewanee Tigers were pioneers in American intercollegiate athletics and possessed the South's preeminent football program in the 1890s. Their 1899 football team had perhaps the best season in college football history, winning all 12 of their games, 11 by shutout, and outscoring their opponents 322-10. Five of those wins, all shutouts, came in a six day period while on a 2,500-mile (4,000 km) trip by train. Ten of their twelve opponents, including all five of their road trip victims, remain major college football powers to this day.[17] Sewanee was a charter member of the Southeastern Conference upon its formation in 1932, but by this time its athletic program had declined precipitously and Sewanee never won a conference football game in the eight years it was an SEC member. The Tigers were shut out 26 times in their 37 SEC games, and were outscored by a combined total of 1163–84.[17] When vice chancellor Benjamin Ficklin Finney, who had reportedly objected to Sewanee joining the SEC, left his position in 1938, the leading candidate was Alexander Guerry, a former president of the University of Chattanooga. According to a university historian, Guerry agreed to come to Sewanee only if the school stopped awarding athletic scholarships. In 1940, two years after Guerry's arrival, Sewanee withdrew from the SEC and subsequently deemphasized varsity athletics. Guerry's stance is sometimes credited as an early step toward the 1973 creation of NCAA Division III, which prohibits athletic scholarships.[17] Today, Sewanee is a member of the Division III Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC), offering 11 varsity sports for men and 13 for women. As of 2009, 27 Sewanee student-athletes have received the prestigious NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship for academic excellence since the program's inception in 1964. Sewanee announced that they, along with six other SCAC members, would leave the conference effective July 1, 2012 to form the new Southern Athletic Association beginning with the 2012-13 season. The announcement was made in Atlanta at the 2011 annual meeting of SCAC presidents.[18]
