And sometimes bad play calling. I guess some never learn. See Appo game 2015 and last nights game. Im no football coach by any means but common sense can win you some games too. When Richlands scored to go up and got the ball back with about 3 mins left i was saying to myself, please keep doing what got you back in this ballgame. But nope, 3 runs up the middle for about 2 yards and only kills a little over a minute. Marion gets ball, scores and wins. I hate seeing this at any level especially when you are struggling running the ball. 2 minutes is a lot of time at the end of a football game. I can see doing this with under a minute left but not 3 minutes. Why dont you keep doing whats working?

Man, you are so right. Our inability to make a 1st down late in a game has cost us plenty-possibly a State Championship in 2015.

  2. Graham will be tough for any team on their schedule at Mitchell Stadium. The Bearcats will give them  some anxious moments , but the Gmen will prevail. Graham has to travel to Ernie the next week and while I won't predict a win for Richlands they will know they have played a team with a lot of pride and grit.

  3. We were beaten by a very good Appo Team and have nothing to be ashamed about . We are the # 2 team  in 2A .We were not at full strength against Appo ,but even if we had been ,it was still a stretch to win the game.We need to remember that not one of us wanted to win today as much as the Kids and the Coaches did. We will be good again in'17as will Appo, ,Union, Gate City ,[i am speaking collectively here] one of us  can outpoint the Raiders and let them enjoy the trip to SWVA.-Our Home.PS -If you feel an urge to criticize the Blues or the Coaches-Will you apply for  a coaching job if a vacancy occurs?

  4. Giles travels well, but they will never bring a crowd like that which will be at Mitchell Stadium this friday.  Graham and Bluefield fans travel from out of state for this game and yes....at least 10,000 in the stadium and a couple more thousand in the parking lot.  Ranked as one of the top rivalry games in the country for a reason.

it is not much of  rivalry when one team only wins   25% of the games. More like a cake walk for the Beavers.
