I played at VHS in the early 90's same thing then, you just know those are your teammates, fight together and do the best you can. Leave it on the field and let idiots be who they want to be.

I would be careful about casting those stones...I can give you a whole bunch of first hand experience about "chants" from your fans that are a whole helluva lot worse than "USA".  And they came from grown men and fans and students.  I'd think twice about opening that can or worms on here.

It didn't happen just in Appy/GC.  I played for VHS in the late 70's to early 80s.  One particular school of note (starts with a G) had a row of grown men hanging on the fence "counting crows" as we entered the field.  The racial slurs were common place, multiple and for a bunch 16-17 year olds, sometimes scary. 

LOL, a great guy? The guy is basically trolling every thread that is even remotely Virginia High related and is insulting to our fans. Personally, I think he's an attention whore who is looking to start trouble.

And yet when I played Basketball for VHS, we went up against Appalachia and had their students using the "N-word" at our black players, had Gate City fans throw rocks at our bus, and had the air let out of the tires there, but no, we're the ones full of "problems". 

Who the hell on our side is begging everyone for respect? I keep hearing this "when will we get respect" phrase, but I've been in this thread since the beginning and I don't recall this need for respect showing up. Maybe I missed it, but I know I certainly am not begging for it, nor do I disrespect Richlands and the program they have.

Maybe canes00 should follow suit.  No issue with Hurricanewarning.  He seems like a genuine fan and I respect folks who support their own.  He did take exception to my comment about C. Handley being the only athlete to come out of Marion and maybe that was uncalled for on my part.  canes00 made me mad with his comments about VHS and I reacted in kind. 
 
But this thread is about the Richands/VHS rematch.  I apologize for my part in taking the focus off that game.

Well,  I see what you were thinking and it makes sense.  It could very well go the way you stated,  i just think that VA High is a good football team and the coaches are doing a good job with them.  I just think it will turn out to be close through the whole game,  but VA does cause me to worry about their speed.  teams with speed have given the blues a hard time.
How come the coaches just started using Kiser at QB,  was there an injury,  or was it just a matter of trying to find more balance in the O ?

I dislike to see teams run up the score. It is uncalled for IMHO. But...I dislike it even more when people on the losing team whine about it. Brings too much attention to a meaningless part of the game.
 
My philosophy on a team running it up on my team? Don't comment about it, store it away, and use it as motivation the next time.

Not quite...I meant Southwestern States mental institution. But you still didn't refute my assertion that the only athlete you have to hang your hat on is Handley. Prove me wrong. And just because Nolan Ryan passed through the town doesn't count.

P.S.: canes00: No comment about the Marion/ Appo game being closer than VHS/Gretna? Care to go double or nothing on this weeks game? Oh never mind, your team is on the hardcourt not the gridiron. Maybe next year?

jblank...I seriously believe it is simply a case of sour grapes at VHS' win over them...and now there are a few VHS fans on here who refuse to allow tomatoes to be thrown without throwing a few back.

But keep on harping on VHS...I guess you have to live your football fantasy through a team that is still playing. I suggest you pick one in the future that YOU can beat...but hey that is just me.

I suggest you own up to your previous "hilarious" predictions and accept that your team lost to VHS. And who cares about concession stands? Unless they serve trout, most are all alike.
 
VHS may win or they may lose this week to a very good Richlands team. Either way, it is no skin off my nose. I am just glad they won last week. Too bad you can't give credit where credit is due.
 
You Her-icanes can dish it out but CANNOT take it.

I know that at the Marion/Appomattox game last night there was someone shouting "Get your boy off the field!" while they were waiting to bring in the cart to get Sam Wagner off the field when he was injured. The coaches and medical staff finally had enough and helped him over to the sideline and put him on the cart there. However, every Appomattox fan that I encountered face-to-face was very polite, perhaps more than any group of fans I've ever had contact with. Unfortunately there's somebody like that in every crowd. It's a shame, but you've got to take it for what it's worth and realize that the actions of some don't reflect the actions of all.

With all due respect, nobody gave us chance @ Gretna, so is it really absurd for someone to predict we could win against you guys this time around? I'm not at all predicting it, but to make it out like we have no chance of winning by ten points is a bit insulting.
