Glenvar lost a lot of talented players. They will be good, but not great. Both O-line and D-line will be solid. Concerns will be the skill position. I wold predict 7-3 or 8-2 season.

From Glenvar QB Zach Clifford, RB Daryl Manns, WR/DB Elliott Stigall, LB Dustin Brown are all headed to Ferrum. Also heard RB Mann from Giles is headed to Ferrum. New Head Coach from Ferrum is recruiting some hidden gems from the area. Ferrum could be a special place in a couple years.

Zach Deck #58, and Quentin Alls #66 from Glenvar will sign thier LOI to UVA-Wise

Thanks hokie!! Yes, I was surprised by Remi as well. He was 1st Team All-State last year. I believe the system is flawed. Personally, I think the 2A West 1st and 2nd team All Region should be the same for All- State.

I guess I'm a little Bias, but I thought my son, (Daryl Manns) from Glenvar would've made 2ND team All-State. He finished with over 1700 yards rushing with 23 Touchdowns. Either way this list will not make or break him.

Lee Suggs (Fleming) Higginbotham (Ph) were talented athletes in HS. I remember when Fleming and PH played at Victory Stadium. This game was a near sellout.

NFL.. Tiki and Rhonde Barber, Lee Suggs, Jamie Price (World Class Sprinter). I had the opportunity to compete against these athletes in track and Football. I do remember in track the fast heap was Rhonde, Tiki, Suggs, J Higginbotham, Jamie Price, and myself. Of course Jamie Price won with a time of 10.4. That record still stands today in Roanoke. I happened to run a 10.9. Absolutely no one beat Rhonde in the Hurdles he won the nationals every year, and no one beat Tiki in the long jump. These guys were the best in track I ever seen and also were smart in the classroom . They finished 1st and 2nd in thier HS class with 4.0 higher GPA. Other NFL.. Nathan Poole (GW Danville), Shayne Graham (Pulaski), Shannon Taylor (PH), Chris Warren (Ferrum) NBA.. Played AAU basketball game against Alonzo Mourning, Grant Hill, Allen Iverson, Corey Alexander, Curtis Staples. Other NBA.. JJ Redick, Derek Hines (NBDL) Everett Fox (Overseas), George Lynch, Curtis Blair

Thanks! I think the Giles/Glenvar rivalry is good for our conference and high school football. To have multiple state champions from the 3 rivers district is impressive. Coach Clifford has been on record a number of times saying how he wants to have a football program like Giles.

With Glenvar's recent success, a lot of supposedly "in the know" fans say reckless things. Glenvar's motto "One game at a time" is the same every week. They never look past a opponent.

Glenvar doesn't overlook any opponent. Regardless of location, or a teams win/lost record. Glenvar respects every team they face. Who ever said this needs to have thier mouth washed out with soap.
