GMan 3,569 Report Share Posted February 10, 2005 I thought it was kinda funny that Honaker scheduled a Highlands District team for "Little League Night"...
hhstigerfan 12 Author Report Share Posted February 10, 2005 Our little league team is going to play Abingdon's varsity. We figure they should have a break since little league plays Richlands like 3 times in a season! Plus, coach Hubbard figured it would be good to give the varsity two open dates this year! Blues_56 23 Report Share Posted February 10, 2005 The only thing Abingdon doesnt have to win a game is that they just roll over when their competitor scores and you can tell it so much.If they wouldnt do that then honestly they wouldnt be half bad. hhstigerfan 12 Author Report Share Posted February 10, 2005 Abingdon has good athletes. Its always puzzled me why they can't at least be COMPETITIVE year in and year out.
cityofRaven 2,450 Report Share Posted February 10, 2005 yeah they do have good athletes but i think they dont want to get hit hard!

BigBlue02 11 Report Share Posted February 10, 2005 Its pretty sad when our little league team could go out in the 4th quarter and beat any Highlands district team. I heard one year we played lee and started our entire all start midget league team.
RHS7 10 Report Share Posted February 10, 2005 well... i just cant wait till next season gets started, i dont mind playin honaker and im sure no one else does either
BigBlue02 11 Report Share Posted February 10, 2005 I like the Idea of play Honaker,it cuts down on driving time to the game, you dont have to get out of school early and its a good rivlary. Now if Twin Valley was great we could play them but then again who wants to make 2 trips in to buchanan county to play football.
Blues_56 23 Report Share Posted February 10, 2005 I dont mind playin Honaker they are one of the best Single A teams around, and yea if Twin Valley WAS any good we could still play them just play Grundy home and Twin away just switch em in and out so only one trip to beautiful Buchanon every year. BigBlue02 11 Report Share Posted February 11, 2005 you sound so disappointed with the whole buchcanan trip there 56 lol.
Blues_56 23 Report Share Posted February 11, 2005 Well its aint the county its just the fact of sum of the roads kill me the way they made em down there. My grandpa lives in Lil prater(Greenbrier) near the dickenson county line. And so ive hated the roads down there since i was a lil feller..ha
BigBlue02 11 Report Share Posted February 11, 2005 I know the feeling my gf lives in Hurley and I take Hale Creek everytime I go down there and gees They need to fix that road. I have to admit they do keep the 4 lane in better shape than Tazewell county.
Blues_56 23 Report Share Posted February 11, 2005 Main reason its in good shape right now is cause of the big flood that hit Short Gap and vacinity, but yea i agree the rest is in good shape too.
wisecav72 10 Report Share Posted February 11, 2005 i live up in greenbrier and your right, the roads absolutly suck. especially since the coal trucks started running.
wavefan64 10 Report Share Posted February 11, 2005 The road through Grundy is terrible right now, along with most secondary roads. But yeah, the state department does keep the main roads (460&83) are in great shape..Just wish the same could be said about the rest. BigBlue02 11 Report Share Posted February 11, 2005 I agree Grundy is a mess but ain't it always. Anyways back on topic,I wish honaker had the #'s to move up to AA and move in to the swd so we could kick Carroll out lol
Blues_56 23 Report Share Posted February 11, 2005 No joke honakerwould fit perfect, u can already say they are a AA team cause they can compete with all of us anyways.
RHS15 10 Report Share Posted February 11, 2005 I'm right there with u rhs7, i can't wait till the season starts, i think it will be a good year. i think we got good backs, recievers, and a big line, so i think it will be an awsome season!!!!! BigBlue02 11 Report Share Posted February 11, 2005 Well look at the black diamon district though only team that gives them real competition year in and year out is Haysi. Twin Valley and Hurley are subpar when it comes to Football, now basketball on the other hand thats a whole different message board.

hhstigerfan 12 Author Report Share Posted February 11, 2005 I wish Honaker had just joined the SWD when we left Region C instead of joining the BDD. That woulda been nice! But then again, I never would known the joy of driving to Hurley!
BigBlue02 11 Report Share Posted February 11, 2005 lol what way do you go? across halecreek and down rockhouse?
hhstigerfan 12 Author Report Share Posted February 11, 2005 I go to Raven and get on 460. I take 460 to Grundy and get on 83 until you get to that road that takes you to Hurley. I don't know what any of it is called. I'm not very familiar with Buchanan County.
