beaverbaseball 10 Report Share Posted April 12, 2005 We beat the defending State Runner-up Shady Spring tonight 11-9 in 8 innings. We were up 7-0 after the first inning. Then going into the 7th we were up 9-4 when Shady started to make there rally. Â BEN HUR - Kevin Morrison went 2-for-3 and knocked in two to lead Virginia High (5-3, 1-0) past the Generals (5-2, 0-1) in Highlands District play. Â Matt Grimes struck out nine on his way to the victory. Reliever Preston Smith closed out the seventh for the save. Â Chaz Garrett went 2-for-2 with two RBIs for Lee High.
