bcbbears 10 Report Share Posted August 29, 2005 i was just wondering who the people from around her feel is one of the best WR in the area to ever play? i know WR isnt a very glossy position in high school and most WR that are in collage were RB's or QB's in high school. but what WR's stood out in high school in our area? Lance 228 Report Share Posted August 29, 2005 Greg Clevinger and James Stanley were both good ones from Grundy recently as was Cary Perkins back in the day.
BigBlue02 11 Report Share Posted August 29, 2005 Derrek Joyce was a decent reciever for the blues back in 2001. I always thought micheal mabe would have made a super Wideout or Tightend.
Cola 10 Report Share Posted August 29, 2005 Could you imagine ole Mabe at TE, that would have been nice.
RichlandsAlum 678 Report Share Posted August 29, 2005 Going way back, Jack Richardson was a pretty good one for Richlands. He graduated in '80 and went on to play for Bluefield State.
beano5 14 Report Share Posted August 29, 2005 Graham has quite a few options for best this year...Wills Murray has speed and hands....Matt Yost once again pretty good speed and good hands...Steve Brown not the best hands but absolutely blinding speed....TJ Carper good hands and good speed....Nathan Branch tall fast and good hands....just to name a few... bcvtsports 10 Report Share Posted August 29, 2005 How about Gary Clark who played for Pulaski County back in the early '80's and went on to being a pro-bowl receiver with the Redskins.
old_school_blue 247 Report Share Posted August 29, 2005 Lebanon had a great wide receiver in the early 90's. I believe his name was Aaron Fuller. He was an all-state selection and had hands like velcro. Chris Osborne was a fine receiver for the '92 Richlands team and made some incredible catches. I do not believe I have ever seen a reciever with the physical credentials of Rob Stanton. And he can go up and get the ball like none I've seen. parsons 178 Report Share Posted August 29, 2005 yeah, stanton has has gone up 2 or 3 times on lob passes for receptions this year over smaller defenders. he's tough to defend.

redneck_nation 10 Report Share Posted August 30, 2005 played against aaron fuller in high school & with him in college for those e&h wasps. fuller was one of the best i had seen. fuller could catch anything, not very fast but he had deceptive speed. goalie 10 Report Share Posted August 30, 2005 We had a guy down here that went by the name of kevin dehavin. he was first team all state and almost had a chance to go to a D1 school if he would have only been 4 in. taller.
